Happy Birthday America!!!!

"The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty, and the destiny of the Republican model of Government, are justly considered as deeply, perhaps as finally staked, on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people." - George Washington

A heartfelt thank you to 'His Excellency' and the brave revolutionaries who sacrificed everything to give us this great country. Sadly, they would be ashamed of how so many Americans disrespect their country today. Complacency, greed, ignorance, and selfishness seem to rule the consciousnesses of so many Americans today.

I'm pulling a Chak tonight. I was dead to the world asleep when my eyes sprung open and boom bam bading here I am wide awake. I'm glad I'm on vacation and don't have to go to work tomorrow. It's age...sleep troubles...

You should really try to go back to sleep RJ!

RJ: Well I might in a bit.

You'll be sleepy all day tomorrow and will take a long nap if you don't at least try.

RJ: Yeah yeah leave me alone. I'm sure I'll be napping tomorrow after eating BBQ.

Watch your diet RJ and don't eat too much tomorrow!

RJ: (slap) I don't diet on holidays you buffoon!

(giggle) That's kind of fun! Although I feel a little crazy talking to myself...............

Chak has set the trend...napping and talking to oneself.

Good Morning Army, and Happy Independence Day ! Please show some courtesy for our friend Bronze today, as two of his old friends, Tom Jefferson and John Adams, both passed away on this date in 1826. Still a Great Day for us Proud Yanks !
Have a Safe and Blessed Independence Day :)

I love it when people remember history. Way to go PopPop!

Thomas Jefferson died on this date exactly 50 years after America declared its independence. Jefferson was the one who authored the Declaration and was gravely ill leading up to the 50th anniversary. It was thought he fought to stay alive just to make it to the 50th year of independence. His son entered his father's Monticello bedroom the morning of July 4, 1826 and whispered in his ear that it was Independence Day. Jefferson died just a few hours later.

Did you know Adams, his old friend and enemy, died that same day?

Well April, at least you're not in ER. I have to believe that's a busy department on July 4.

Well I pretty much am. In triage today, the ED for pregnant women. So far just a routine labor check. But I'm sure I'll have plenty of dehydrated pts later (along with sunburns, accidents etc).

Actually, yes. And also duly note in PopPop's post. Lots of our founders were friends and enemies. Washington and Jefferson were quite close for a time but eventually were at odds. I think Alexander Hamilton led the league in making enemies. Including Aaron Burr. :)

And later that same day, co-author John Adams, whose deft political skills made him disliked and our Constitution possible, died at his home in Massachusetts. His last words were, "Jefferson lives", though it is believed Jefferson actually perished six hours earlier. How Ironic the two men most responsible for our often overlooked Liberty would pass on the Fiftieth Anniversary of some of Man's Greatest works...

Happy 4th Of July to my very good friends in the Heavenly army. To be honest as much as I might not converse much anymore, the HA is one of the very few reasons I come to ecf anymore. I hope you all enjoy your day and I really hope if you intend to light up some firworks, you aren't as harassed and monitored like we are in this beautiful city..
I love walking out of my house to see cops parked next to my car running my plates over some stickers informing people of my views... Run em all you want good sir :)

Chimps: I have to say I am really impressed with the thought that RJ put into that one. :D

Oh yeah?!? And this is coming from the one who is impressed by a banana and a tire swing?!?

Chimps: Hey, you get outta here! And what's so wrong with liking to hang out on a tire swing anyways?

Well, when you use that swing as a launching platform to fling poo at the children, it's just not really funny to the rest of us....

Chimps: Now I think you have confused me with GT...seriously. That's just gross. Although, I'm not beyond stalking the mailman to get a "preview" of someone else's vape mail.

Yeah, the only problem is you'll just wind up breaking it! How many times are you going to try and break that glass with those shiny tubes anyways? You'd think that someone of average intelligence would figure out that the glass is not going to break just because you find something shiny to hit it with...it's there to keep those crazy PETA people away from you, not the other way around!!

Chimps: Well, oh yeah, well.....hey, a BANANA!!!!

 That was great Chimps! You are a natural!

I think RJ took the talking to herself up a notch! Pretending to be someone else talking to themselves, pure insanity! I love it!

Congrats on the car Iowa.

You all enjoy that long weekend.. I'm getting ready for a full weekend of work. Hoping it's at least slow while I make my time and a half today. Although, it's usually busy and short staffed on holidays.

Happy 4th everyone!

Dual personality maybe? That's kinda worrisome actually.
