I was just not ready to hear what I knew was going to be the problem.
I'm not as freaked out, then again the pain pills sure do strange things to me.

Ah.... back in the old days I remember if I had a migraine or "lady's indisposition" I could buy codeine over the counter, take 2 and carry on. Never occurred to us back then that anyone would take it for any other reason than a good effective fast strong asprin to get back to work asap. Now it's a controlled substance yet I just don't see it in the same class as opium or the famous "shot in the arm" ...Thus relateth the old one....

I have some experience with Tramadol (Ultram) from when I had back surgery. The good thing about it is that it is not classified as a narcotic as other opioids are. It has a very similar effect as far as pain relief but without the extreme euphoria that comes with drugs like Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Codeine, Dilaudid, etc. I say that's a good thing because the risk for dependency is considerably lower as with narcotics. You will, after prolonged use, become somewhat tolerant to it and should not stop taking it abruptly. I had one unusual side effect that happened while I was taking these. It gave me muscle twitches (spasm) in my legs, shoulders, and back. These were the kind of twitches that are similar to ones that happen when you're falling asleep and your leg just decides to kick out of nowhere. If you should experience this, don't be alarmed, but be wary as the spasm is unpredictable and may hurt your knee if you don't have a brace on. It may not occur with you, but you should know about it in case it does happen. If you get spasms that compromise the stability of your knee, you may need to switch meds. I never had a spasm while awake, only when falling asleep or resting. As a whole, it's a much safer drug to take than the others but they all make you feel loopy.

About the Splitfires:

I own 5 of them. All of them are threaded nicely. An interesting note though...

2 of my SplitFires say "SplitFire" on the tank while the other 3 say "V-Core". Otherwise they are identical. Is there an imposter in the midst?!?!

Hey Burly, do any of yours show signs of stress cracks? I have two with "V-Core", I believe, and one of them has stress cracks all around the upper tube and some more on the bottom as well. I'm sure I wasn't screwing them on too tight. The juice I had in it was a Cherry Balsam Tobacco from Mt.BV. I thought I posted pics of it on here somewhere...

See I have been able to get as much Hydrocodone as I need because of the Chron's and have at times taken it for weeks and then just stopped taking it without any problems.
I like it because it revs me up...
Tramadol does seem to be helping with the pain and all my office mates said I was being really laid back tonight, kind feel like I smoked you know what that is not OK to say on here.

I took prednisone a lot and everyone says that it's really bad to just stop taking it, I did a lot of times over the years and never had a problem with that.
Drugs affect me strangely, even my docs tell me that.

Best combo that I ever got was when a nurse gave me Morphine and then a bit later she gave me a Ambien.
I was seeing aliens running around the room but it still took me a few hours to drop off to sleep.

Gollum is quite good. Very sweet honey and light raisin really works. Oompa is so good this one has grown on me. Everything I've tried in the purity line has been very nice. Best thing about HHV good TH

I still need to try dark horse, it does sound like something I would like.

Z, I can get codeine over the counter here, but I only reserve it for the worst pain, like toothaches. Once I take it I have to lie down because if I sit or stand I get the worst chest pains.

I am doing a lot better then when I got the news.
I have known that my right knee was bad for a really long time now and that it was going to need a lot of work to fix it. I guess I was still not ready to hear that it was time to do it.
Funny thing is with the Chron's I know it's only a matter of time before I will have to have a section of my intestines cut out and was close to having it done before doc started me on Humira.
I watched a show one night about them doing knee replacement a long time ago so I know what is done and how they do it and they showed all of the operation.
Just needed some support and time and I want to thank everyone here for the support, it did help a lot..

Yeah I read that! I've never had ovaltine so I don't know but I like Oompa. I've tried all the tobaccos except Pirates. Heard it was good too.

Sweet baby Jesus I get my bottle of dark horse today. I was able to sneak in an order on Saturday night and to my surprise I got the shipping notice Monday morning. This will tide me over till I place my big order Friday. I am jonsing for some dark horse and its still gotta sit for a few days. My order list for Friday keeps growing and ill be broke before I know it. More dark horse, more gandalf, shadowfax, dragons fire, huntsman. Now I wanna try the pear flavors and the watermelon. Everyone that asks what I want for Xmas is being sent right to the HHV site!! Happy hump day everyone!
