RIP Frank. His was a life beautifully lived, and he was a delight before he fell ill and and inspiration after. As I've said, I first met Frank in the Musicians' thread in the Lounge, and he was so supportive and encouraging, saying just the right things to an impatient beginner. He really knew guitars inside and out because of his natural curiosity and dedication to learning, just as he was self-taught in a wide array of interests, but he was unceasingly modest about it all. I will remember him for these less than common virtues along with his stand-out humor, warmth, optimism, and strength even in the hardest of times that we all appreciated so much in the Army. He will certainly live on in all of our memories.

Wishing strength and comfort to his RW friends and family, as well as to all of you.

Check out this video I shot of a piece my son wrote for a high school concert 4 years ago. He is the one on the left playing the vertical tube instrument. The larger instrument is called a Grand Concert Tour Tubulum. I built both from plans I found on the Internet. It is similar to the instruments the Blue Man Group plays.

I did just copy it into the Memorial thread; thanks for linking me to it, and thank you, Bronze, for creating it. I know that I've already brought this ^ forward once before quite recently, but it's a bit of the sort of thing I'm talking about. And, at this very moment, my uncle is excitedly working on the plans to try to replicate Frank's gift to his sons. I know that it's painful to read one of his old posts today, but it's just in the spirit of celebrating his life and his many accomplishments.

Becky, you're the best! A great tribute to 73, seeing that again.
