When I played the bar scene we used to do some Beatles tunes. Every musician should honor the Beatles and help keep the Fab Four alive for the youngsters.

I can't remember who it was, but one of the newer stars was being interviewed
on TV one day. She was asked something about song writing and she gave
the neatest answer. She said the Beatles have already written all the songs,
we're just rearranging them.

that would make Billy Idol sit in the back.

Oh absolutely. The differences really came through in the solo albums post break-up though. On the whole, you got all these beautiful melodies coming from Paul with horrible lyrics. Then you had these fascinating lyrics coming from John with some seriously lacking melodies. It took all four of them really to create that untouchable music.

I have been working on coworkers, helping introduce them to c-cigs. I brought some spare batteries and clearos to a coworker. She mentioned she loved the smell of pipe tobacco so one clearo was loaded with Gandipity. One drag and she LOVED it!

It was kinda the opposite when they were together. Paul was more of a lyric
specialist and John was more of a melody maker.

It is a hard question to answer. But if it weren't for John Lennon, they'd of kept doing, "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and they would have withered on the vine if they kept doing stuff like that. Lennon was the creative genius of the Beatles and that's the only reason why he was my favorite. I actually liked McCartney more when he did the Wings. That's when he got creative and I think he learned it from Lennon.

I haven't touched that channel in forever.

Beatles, the Who, Elvis Costello, Talking Heads, Crowded House/Split Enz/Neil Finn. That and opera is my music of choice.

Followed by non-vocal classical, Latin, and showtunes.

maybe two. But you can't separate John and Paul into one or the other. Not me, anywho.

Same here. Paul and John were the classic example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Paul's sense of melody mixed with John's raunchy and edgy style - it was magical.

Yeah, Paul was good in the early days of Wings. I liked his two solo albums better,
though. Yuh, know, "here I sit in the attack, antennae up my nose, while my wife
sings a dreadful cantata."

I think they still would have evolved, thanks to their "creativity through chemistry". I agree with Paul and Wings! Think Live and Let Die, oh yeah!
