Good morning, Army!

Chak! Here's a way to get through to Attila the Hun. Storm into the classroom and yell, "SHALL WE DANCE..?? 1 - 2 - 3. 1 - 2 - 3."

King_and_I_resized_5714.jpg

In high school I was in that musical! I had totally forgotten about it. (High school..actually any school year..was not a pleasant experience for me) I played one of the Kings concubines.

This made me chuckle...

With the "birthday" part included...

Happy Birthday Dusty!

My brother had an intruder trying to push his way into his house last night. He was pressing on the doorbell continuously and my doofus brother opened the door! He slammed the door and the police came and he was caught. Some crazy drugged out man, in a T-shirt and his underwear! My brother lives right next door to my parents. Mom goes outside on her front porch this morning and found a KNIFE! Police came back.

One of the reasons I couldn't sleep last night is because my Dad almost got in a fight with the roofer dude who screwed me over and I'm afraid that guy will seek revenge on my house. I told Dad to drop it for that very reason but he wouldn't do as I asked. I mean I appreciate finally someone stepping up and trying to do the right thing by me, but I don't need drama like that. And being single and with a child I've always been a little scared being up here alone. I didn't sleep a wink...kept hearing things. I think that is so WEIRD to be so worried about it last night and then it actually happening to my brother the same night! And then my niece being almost murdered, it's just got my hackles up lately.

So I'll be researching alarm systems soon. What does everyone else use? ADT? Any recommendations?

 Scary stuff! I was telling Dad Sunday that people are CRAZY in today's world. WOW! I'm glad everyone is OK...but dang. Stay safe out there!

Good evening Army!!!

Looking back on the day, there were some good moments:
1. Mamma Chak and I, had shrimp nugets and iced macchiatos at nearby coffee shop.
2. I finished my flyer for the display tables, and our stickers for the bags & buckets arrived.
3. I'm sitting here typing this with a cold Chang Beer at hand.
4. Pirate's Booty is getting better every time I vape it, and...
5. Serendipity and Pirate's Booty were great partners with Caramel Cappuccino all day.

So, all in all, it has to be considered a fairly good day with the good out weighing the bad.
And for your further enlightenment...

Geeze RJ!! Remind me to never move to your neck of the woods! That's some scary :censored:
Just watched a 20/20 show on burglars a week ago or so. They don't like security cameras or systems.
A motion detector light and visible camera will do a good job. Also, burglars like when entrances are hidden from view. Keep bushes trimmed down. Don't let them grow and cover entrances or windows. Just remember, if you can't see other people, other people can't see if someone is trying to break into your house.

Just found out yesterday that there were a couple of murders and robberies in the neighborhood where I used to live in Philly. ugh, what is this world coming to?

RJ, I know you're not through grieving for your kitty and are not ready for another pet. But when the time comes, you might want to consider a dog instead of a cat. A good dog can make you feel much more secure at night.

Yeah, that's why we have a Pit.... who hides under the bed if we hear a noise at night....

Haven't tried it yet, Dusty. But the Mrs. says, if she turns off the fan while the corn cools it stays crispy. I guess the fan blows in the moisture from outside? She also rotates the cookie sheets on different shelves each time they bring it out to toss it, so it gets baked evenly. Did that tip come from your wife?

Just found out yesterday that there were a couple of murders and robberies in the neighborhood where I used to live in Philly. ugh, what is this world coming to?

Every single one of us live in small towns with no major crime besides speeding. My niece lived in a prime uppity location but yet look what happened to her. People are just going crazy is what I think and this is all just random stuff. It can happen anywhere in today's world. But it seems so movie-like ya know? I mean I guess bad things happen to good people but dang. You won't meet a finer family than ours. Hard working good people...what America should be about. But this is just getting too close for comfort. And I was telling Mom what you just said...make it more difficult for burglars and they will more than likely move on from your house. I do live beside five cops and on a cul de sac on a true dead end road with blunt objects (no guns though) scattered about my house within easy reach....but still it's scary.

I'll be calling security/alarm companies tomorrow. Does anyone know an approximate cost of getting one for windows and doors? I mean my son is here alone all summer long and every day after school! I gotta make it safer. Who walks around half naked, with a knife, ringing door bells. What were they expecting....tea and cookies?!?!? Crazy people!

I gotta go cut grass.....and I sure don't wanna!!! Wah!
