Hi Gwen. Haven't seen you before! Nice to meet you
ECF has been slow for me a couple of days now.![]()
I've had this mouse going since noon and it is the berries compared to the pad. Far better experience.
Cannot lose my sense of humor on this wild and woolly ride of life. I may be going down but I have a big grin doing it.
Spent the last hour reloading Ubuntu 13.04 on my laptop. I tweak things a lot and it was time to redo.
Which one did you end up buying, General?
Thanks RJ, ya know I heard a joke today that kind of sums up my attitude towards life... it's kind of long, but what else have I got to do at 3 AM in the doghouse?
Took serendipity that Bridget sent me to work tonight. Loving it. Initially I thought it might have too much of a coffee taste for my liking but half an eVod later and I don't taste the coffee anymore. Now it is just deliciousness.
That's still my second favorite HHV juice, Chimps (the first, I know, is a great mystery to everyone). Great that you're loving it, too! With the kids/schedule, you sure deserve a fantastic Friday vape
!
GEEK ALERT!!!
Got a question for the computer geeks...
Windows 8 will not accept Office 2000. It kicks it out with an OBDC error (whatever in the hell that is). I read up and found Windows 8 will not accept Office 2000 (Windows 7 did). So I will not get away with being a cheapass. Anyhow, if I go out and purchase Office 2013, does anyone know if I will be able to successfully convert my 2000 files to 2013?
Note: That Office2000 package cost $500 back then. My company paid for it...I didn't.![]()
OpenOffice was going to be something I gave serious consideration too. However, I just discovered that Windows 8, in fact, took my Office 2000. It said it didn't, but when I went to my Apps page, there they were. Already copied some Excel and Word files over and played around with them. Hark! You will be able to convert them all. Some spreadsheets and document formatting may get a little wonky and need adjusting, but it shouldn't give you much trouble. As a cheapass myself, I would recommend downloading OpenOffice. Free and has all the things I need and works well with all my old office docs and spreadsheets.

Now, how to check my email? I have Windows Live (I think it came with my Windows 7 package on my desktop). I see no such animal on this laptop.
Thanks Chimps
