I've been super lucky with an older model Craftsman LT1000 riding mower. All I've had to do is replace a spindle 3 times, change the oil and air filters, and sharpen the blades a few times. I'm not so lucky with chainsaws. 300 hour engine life is way too short for me. I don't know which brand to buy next. The Husqvarna was pretty nice, and I rebuilt a Poulan a couple of times but never really liked it. I haven't tried an Echo yet. I can put it to the test...

Can't you just get this one, swap it with your son's and then he can save on a gym membership also?
Or maybe you know of a fitness freak who loves spinning? :D

Went to Lowe's and found a $2923 solution to my old mower problems-
a Husquevara zero-turn mower. Everyone says I'll love it, but I already don't like the price. My older stepson has had the same model for three years now and absolutly swears by it, his opinion probably steered me into this.....

I don't know if that setup would be much fun or safe. Using the reel mowers was always fun when a small stick or pine cone would get caught between the blade reel and cutter blade. Talk about stopping on a dime!!

OMG, I'd forgotten about that! Very true!

Happy Sunday. Air conditioner died overnight. A moment of silence. Ahhhhh. Then Mr. Robin hooks up the noisy portable one... If the landlord can't get anyone out today to fix it, we will be sleeping in separate rooms tonight. He can't sleep in the heat, I will not be able to sleep with that noise.

Hubby has looked up all the trouble shooting and has tried all suggestions. It looks older so I do believe we hit its life expectancy. I'm just happy Hubby has backup coolness. Me....I don't mind the heat. In fact I spend most of my time out here in the shade. ;)

Then I see you figured it out. $44 was less than a week on cigs for me. It should only put you back a very short time. ;)

:(

I only figured $30 a week for my cig spending, as I only smoked about 6 packs a week at $5 a pack (from the indian smoke shops in OK). That's why it's taking me so long to get right side up.

You're going to love that zero-turn. My bunch hasn't complained about mowing since we got ours almost 3 years ago. It's almost paid for, just 3 more months, 0% interest of course. And the bonus.. I don't know how to drive it!!;)

It rained here last night, so while I'm witing for the grass to dry I'm gonna do what no real man should ever do- Read the Owner's Manual !

We got thunderstorms last night also, and our grass is out of control. Weather men are calling for strong storms with possible tornadoes this evening. We don't have a storm shelter, but can go hang out with the in-laws if we want. We usually just stay home.;)

Uh, does the indoor or outdoor unit run at all? Never mind, this is probably not the best thread reading.

OK kids.

The test results say no tumor visible in the liver. Just cirrhosis damages. Will be in hospital at least to Monday monitoring blood hemoglobin, which is holding above the 9.0 level after transfusion.

Gotta fix this spell checker in Firefox. It keeps wanting to replace US spellings with our counterparts across the pond.

What part of Oklahoma ? Isn't there an area called "Tornado Alley" ? Or is that in Kansas ? Been awhile since I've driven that far west....

I'm very glad that there is no tumor. Also am happy to hear the rest of which I don't understand but sounds promising.

Yes I got the part that says visible, but choose to only acknowledge the no tumor part. ;)
