Still reeling......

It rained here last night, so while I'm witing for the grass to dry I'm gonna do what no real man should ever do- Read the Owner's Manual !

Now that is cause for celebration pappy. CONGRATULATIONS!! :toast:

Well folks, this is a momentous day for me. Right about this time of morning one year ago, I was having my last cigarette. I had received my first PV three days before. I have not had a single puff off of a cigarette in exactly 1 year.

It's amazing to look back at how long that journey seems even though it is just one year. I started with a KGO kit and cartomizers. I still have those old KGOs somewhere, but I now have a Provari, Reo Mini, Lavatube, Silver Bullet, Baby Bullet and several Twists and Spinners. And I now use Vivi Nova tanks exclusively (except on the Reo of course).

The juice journey has been even more interesting. I still have some of the juice I bought with my KGO kit. How did I ever vape that swill? I actually thought it was ok back then, but I knew there had to be better juices out there. Luckily, it only took me about 4 months before I found HHV and knew I had found my main juice vendor.

Anyway, happy vaping anniversary for me. And a special thanks to Bronze for starting this thread, which was the impetus I needed to go ahead and give HHV a try.

That is just too hilarious.
The Owner's Manual for this new mower is like any other;
Do Not Kill yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children.
This is a lawn mower. It is designed for mowing lawns.
Do Not Kill yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children.
This lawn mower uses Gasoline. Gasoline IS Flammable. Do not drink or bathe in Gasoline.
Do Not Kill yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children.
This lawn mower has a Battery. A Battery can cause Sparks. Do Not pour Gasoline onto your Battery.
Do Not Kill yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children.
This lawn mower has Blades. While engaged, these blades move at a high rate of speed. Do not attempt to touch blades while engage as there is a slight possibility of serious injury.
Do Not Kill yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children.
Do Not turn your mower upside-down while you are on it. Do not turn your mower upside-down while blades are engaged. Do Not turn your mower upside-down while pouring Gasoline onto your Battery.
Do Not kill yourself, your children or your nieghbor's children.

And yet, Mamaw cannot understand why I detest Owner's Manuals :p

Great news Stan. Another move forward onward and upward. I think you said in a couple of weeks you'll be going to a specialist for more info and options? Or do I misremember? Thanks so much for letting us know. Hugs

OK kids.

The test results say no tumor visible in the liver. Just cirrhosis damages. Will be in hospital at least to Monday monitoring blood hemoglobin, which is holding above the 9.0 level after transfusion.

Gotta fix this spell checker in Firefox. It keeps wanting to replace US spellings with our counterparts across the pond.

Wow that's rotten news Slim. Hope you get it sorted asap. Pretty bad form on the ex's part too. I'd guess first thing to do is to cancel all payments to that account and have that transferred elsewhere or collect your pay in check form. Send the mortgage by check and then have the fleabags from PA LLC prove that you ever lived at the address the statements went to. Sounds like straightforward fraud to me, just like anyone you didn't know opening up accounts in your name. Best of luck.

Good morning Army!

Had a blast last night but man am I paying for it right now! The TV outside was awesome, we watched the Tigers game then the sharks-kings game and finished the night off with The Hangover 2. I'm pretty sure my neighbors hate me lol

So the bad news I got yesterday was my bank account was frozen yesterday. Fortunately it wasn't my main accounts but it is where my mortgage is paid from.

8 years ago my ex must have opened a credit card in my name with her address. She maxed the card out and never paid on it. So now I have to go get a lawyer and hope that this doesn't interfere with paying my mortgage. As of now its set to automatically withdraw from my 5/3 checking but if I put any money into that account it gets seized.

One thing I can't figure out is why didn't any of this show up on my credit a couple months ago when I was getting my mortgage?? Ugh not what I want to have to deal with :(

If anyone feels up to it google search Palisades Aquisitions LLC, these are the scumbags that froze my account.

I'm very glad that there is no tumor. Also am happy to hear the rest of which I don't understand but sounds promising.

Yes I got the part that says visible, but choose to only acknowledge the no tumor part. ;)

No tumors seen.

The food here hasn't improved. I will say their chicken and tuna salad on wheat is my favorite. I am able to eat broccoli cheese soup from Panera Bread. Love that stuff and also had a bowl of Brunswick Stew from a BBQ place my daughter used to work at. YUMM! but not diabetic friendly. Guess it will justify the insulin pills I am taking. Hehe!!

Still scheduled for the liver specialists in Atlanta the 28th. As long as there is no cancer I will possibly be a candidate for a transplant. I will know more then.

I just hope I get back home before ALL my toys are dumped or donated away.

edit: we will be selling our house and things are being cleaned, cleared, dumped and/or donated away.

73...what are the prospects for getting a liver if that is indeed what you need?

Frank (73) The Lord is not ready to call you home yet. So I guess you're stuck with us instead of
It is good to hear the tests are going well, but not so on having to sell the house. Probably some memories there. Maybe you are being given a chance to create special memories for others somewhere else....

On the lighter side- a fresh 10 wrap micro-coil using 28gauge Kanthal, tested 1.2 ohms, wicked with 100% cotton embroidery thread and just cracked the seal on some 10 week steeped Oompa.
Yummmmm. Me thinks me like this one :)

Beats the hell out of killing your neighbor's kids with the lawn mower doesn't it?

73, awesome news. I will keep praying for the transplant option for you.

Slim, terrible news there about your accounts. Hopefully you get some good news from talking with the lawyers tomorrow and can get things straightened out quickly and mostly painlessly.

Congrats on your Vapey-versary, Pappy! I look forward to the day that I can say I have been smoke free for a year+. 21 days for me...quite a long ways to go. :D

Hope everyone is having a safe and happy Sunday to end the weekend. Much relaxation needed before the start of another work week. Happy vaping!

The thing that concerns me is since I set my mortgage to automatically come out out of my 5/3 checking I received a discount of $1000 off of the principle and .5% off of my interest rate.

MWSlim, you are remarried, yes?

If you are, and your new wife has nothing to do with the debt in question (she was not married to you when the debt was incurred, nor has she made any of the charges), then there is an easy option at your disposal temporarily. You can make a joint account for the two of you that will be protected. The lien holder (debt holder group XXX) cannot make a lien against a joint account for only one of the account holder's debts. I know this is the law in VA, I bet it is the same in Michigan. Ask your attorney tomorrow. It does not have to be your wife, only someone you trust with your money. Your Dad, Mom, Brother or Sister will work.

I used this when I was getting divorced and my ex pulled the exact same crap on me. My dad and I had a joint account for two years that he never, ever used. But that account was lien-proof.

Yeah I actually transferred most of my money out of my other checking and savings to my GF's account just Incase they try and go after my accounts there too.

I think we are going to open a joint account with 5/3 tomorrow then I could set up the auto withdraw again and everything should be good I think.

Thanks for the advice!

Not certain of much at this point regarding those options.

A mentor of mine passed away 2 weeks ago, Dallas Willard Dallas Willard WELCOME. Some of those who knew him well said he may have to be told that he has died. His walk was so close with Christ and his understanding of what His Kingdom is would make it difficult to know much of a difference. I can understand what they are saying. My purposes and His plans must not be completed at this time. The trick is to learn to get out of His way and let Him work in and through me. I guess that means keeping an eye on all of yous guys.

This was posted on the Dallas Willard web page:

There is nothing that can replace
the absence of someone dear to us,
and one should not even attempt to do so.
One must simply hold out and endure it.
At first that sounds very hard,
but at the same time it is also a great comfort.
For to the extent the emptiness truly remains unfilled
one remains connected to the other person through it.
It is wrong to say that God fills the emptiness.
God in no way fills it but much more
leaves it precisely unfilled
and thus helps us preserve — even in pain —
the authentic relationship.
Further more,
the more beautiful and full the remembrances,
the more difficult the separation.
But gratitude transforms
the torment of memory into silent joy.
One bears what was lovely in the past
not as a thorn but as a precious gift deep within,
a hidden treasure
of which one can always be certain.
