Aah! What a wonderful birthday I am having!!! Spent the morning by the pool... cesspool that is, fixing the motor that stirs it.
But don't feel sorry for me, because right after that, I spent some quality time at the Champagne House... fixing their bottling line.
But alas! I finally made it to the local micro brewery to sit outside and enjoy repairing their well pump... in a thunderstorm.
That's just too much fun for one birthday.But seriously, it's been a good day. Think I'll head over to the Princess' house and cook her a delicious birthday dinner.
Ah Burl, I sure do miss you when you're not around. We can always use another sense of humor around here. Happy birthday, Friend!
Some of you came after Burl. Burl was an early threadster on the BIG THREAD. He hung around for a long time and just kind of faded away except for a very occasional post. Wish the ole boy would check in more often. Say happy birthday to Burl.
No worries Hula, I've been around the block a few times and don't fall for stupid scams. Also, the mafia here needs the tourists to stay rich, so it's not that bad at all.
They keep their income by keeping the strip joints somewhat "clean", a bad reputation would hurt them more.

I like non-venomous snakes, yes.
We have them out near the river house (black snakes) and I leave them alone. They are great at controlling rodents. The farmers in the area really like them, too. Now, I don't blame Bridget and her hubby for putting that one down, that is a mighty big black snake, but I have never had any problems with them.
Just a black snake. Not venomous, but sure eating lots of eggs. We got 6 eggs yesterday, 12 today. I think he's been in there a while. We normally wouldn't kill non-venomous snakes but that one had to go..

I should hate snakes since I have been bitten by both a copperhead and a water-moccasin. But, they were just being snakes, and neither bite was that bad. Ironically, the copperhead bite was worse that the cottonmouth, which is supposedly way more venomous.
