Hi everyone.
My name is Steve and after a recent dentist trip, the first since I left school (17yrs ago), I was told "Smoking kills your gums." Which I already knew really, but a dentist telling me my teeth may have a good chance if I give up makes it sink in a bit more!!!!
As I now have 2 wobbly teeth I think it is now or never.
I have recently purchased the Ego-c starter kit and am awaiting delivery as this came highly rated on the UK review sites I looked at. I then stumbled across this site and a post that reckoned it was a rubbish e cig/tank. Further posts on the thread said that many people were happy with the Ego c.

My question to you all is, is there a link or can anyone give advice on how to get the best performance out of one and any maintenance tips that may not be mentioned in the instructions?

I bought mine from a reputable seller along with 30ml of 36mg juice (of a popular ... flavor).

I have had a few pulls on a friends Halo cigarette looking device and it seemed pretty convincing. I much prefer the tank idea as I reckon it could well be cheaper?

Thanking you all in advance for any replies. Cheers, Steve

Hi Steve and welcome to ECF. The eGo C is a great PV but the atomizer/ cartridge "tank" system is outdated and prone to leakage. Most graduate either to cartomizers- 1.7- 2.0 ohm single coil OR the Mini Vivi Nova rebuildable tank- holds about 2 ml and when the head (coil+ wick) burns out you simply unscrew old head and screw in new head- takes 10 secs.
£10.95 for the tank and 3 heads BUT you'll only be able to use the 1.8 and the 2.4 ohms- 2.8 is for higher voltage PVs.
Vision Vivi Nova V2.5 Long Wick £10.95 - Vaping Spares - Tanks & Accessories Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid
and spare heads:
Vivi & Mini Nova Replacement Heads £2.50 - Vaping Spares - Tanks & Accessories Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid
Here's the ECF UK Forum- after 5 posts wait 1 hr and you can post there:

Cheers.

Be glad to help, Steve. I did not like the eGo-C tank system. I got a dry hit way to easily. The batteries are great but the tank part wasn't. I now use eGo-C batteries with Replaceable Stardusts, mini Vivi Novas and Smoktech DCTs. I also purchase 1.8 ohm heads for the Stardust and mini Vivi Novas. I use 1.7 ohm single coil cartomizers as replacements for the Smoktech DCT tanks. If I wanted to keep things simple I would just purchase the Replaceable Stardusts or Mini Vivi Novas. Here are links to the stuff I just mentioned. All three work fantastically for me, no leaks, great vapor, and easy to fill (and replace the parts that wear out, the atomizers/cartomizers)

GotVapes VISION Replaceable Stardust 1.6ml w/ 2.4ohm Long Wick [gv-RebuildableSTARDUST-1.6ml-2.4] - $5.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

GotVapes Vision Mini ViVi Nova™ 2.5ml 2.4ohm [gv-MiniViViNova510-2.4ohm] - $9.45 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

SMOKtech DCT Tank - 3.5ml 1.5ohm Dual Coil Acrylic Tank - CLEAR [gv-smoktechDCT-TANK-3.5ml-CLEAR] - $11.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

GotVapes VISION Stardust Twist-On Coil Head 1.8ohm Long Wick [gv-STARDUSCoilHead-1.8ohm-LngWck] - $2.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Tank Replacement Low Resistance (1.7 Ohm) Cartomizer - $2.10 : Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids

Chrome Cartomizer Tank - Blue - 3.5ml - $10.00 : Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids

eGo Battery Tank Adaptor - $1.40 : Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids

Happy vaping,
Rob

Thanks for the quick responses.
I shall have to look into the mods. more closely before I will understand fully. I am at level 1 with this system but I think it will work!!!
What do people think of the standard ego c as a starting point. Surely it must work reasonably well as standard???????????
Cheers, Steve

The eGo-C is a great starting point! You made a good choice.

PS: Anything that can get you off cigs is the best choice!

The Vivi Nova is not a Mod but the part that holds and vaporizes the juice. That's the beauty of the eGo class PVs...you can upgrade certain parts inexpensively.

Yes that's the same link I have in post # 3. Here are the replacement heads:
Vivi & Mini Nova Replacement Heads £2.50 - Vaping Spares - Tanks & Accessories Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid
Vape Escape is a highly regarded UK Vendor. When you visit the ECF UK Forum you'll see others agree. My heads are lasting about 4 weeks before I have to change them. I also wash them...with light juice once per week and with dark juice every 3 days and they come out like new. Just some future food for thought.
Cheers.

Ok, thanks.
I am not at all worried about how it looks, I have thought it looks strange looking at a person with a white smoking stick in there gobs for ages. They smoking sticks are a bugger though!

I think I have found them in the UK. Is this the wright part? Vision Vivi Nova V2.5 Long Wick £10.95 - Vaping Spares - Tanks & Accessories Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

Hi Steve. I'm also steve and also new to vaping. I bought the ego c kit and I'm very impressed. I also bought the Kanger t3 tank system to put on it. It just replaces the stock tank. Works great, holds about 2.5 ml of juice and its a clearomizer I think so you can see your juice level.
I'm impressed with the whole setup but haven't used it long enough to notice any problems.
You will find a lot of help on here. Many of the people are good with helping us noobs figure out what we are doing.
One thing I noticed was that I seem to be getting more nicotine than I want and I ordered all med nicotine juices. So if u start feeling like you have too much just give it a break for a bit. Maybe it's just me but I feel that way.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the posts.
I received the egoc today but I am unsure if it is actually new.
It all looked as new when opened and all the insides of the unites are clean with no smell.
Although there is no 240v charger adapter in the box and also the heads in each ... have what looks like a fiberglass wick in them that are WET???? can anyone advise me if the wick bit comes wet from the factory????
The instructions also say 5xtank cartridges. I have 5 sealed in wrappers and 1 on each device. That makes 7 in total??????
I have contacted the supplier Alba Vapours and asked about the missing charger and if it was new.
I did notice that when I press the button on the batteries that no light comes on, so I presume they have never had a charge???
Thanks again and look forward to your input. Steve

Just a bit more info for you to help me.
Here are a few photos of the one I got.
I think it may be a copy as there is no mention of joytech anywhere???????

I think this one will be going back!!!! It's a bit off putting not having all the bits in the box and then noticing the guys at Vapeescape have completely different packaging along with the Joytech brand.
If the charger was included I probably would have used it, so its maybe lucky it was not there!!!!?
Thanks again, Steve

They may have primer on the wicks. Some wicks have this.

If it doesn't say Joyetech then it isn't - but there are a lot of Egos that aren't Joyetech Egos. I can see a charger in the box - appears to be a usb charger.
Is this the one you ordered: http://alba-vapours.co.uk/starter-kits/ego-c-900mah
It isn't advertised as Joyetech. It also says it includes a usb charging cable - which you appear to have.
They also sell a Joyetech Ego kit on their site that costs a bit more.
