    No you can't
Aside from prayer, did you get any other intervention? Chemo/Pharmaceuticals? Surgery?

Still curious about when Matthew 21-22 (thanks for the correction) doesn't apply. Will a true believer's prayer not defeat satan's 'thorns'?

Happy to hear you pulled through. Living beats the alternative IMO!

    ME TOO!

other intervention - Doctors and etc - YES I DID and even in that I seen God answering my prayers and gave me proof.

Scripture say's how to be forgiven of our sins and be saved, born again.

We have the instruction book the Bible though have to learn how to apply it in our life's some stop right there when they get saved, other continue on the road of learning and ask God to show them more and after being shown more must make a choice we can stop right there or apply them to ourselves. Scripture tells us God will give us our desires.

Just because were Christians doesn't mean we don't have choice's and if God tell us a thing, we have a choice to do it or apply it to our life's.

I can't speak for no one else but myself, I want God to tell me everything and I want to apply it to my Life. Though that always doesn't happen, because I can make a choice to do it my way not God's way.

    Matthew 21:21
    King James Version (KJV)
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

I used to think that, as far as physical illnesses, but God does not heal everyone.

    2 Corinthians 12:7-10
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Now Paul was a mighty Messianic Jewish teacher, receiver of God's Word for how many Epistles of the New Testament, prayer warrior, preacher, friend, etc. He was given an ailment, or illness, that God said that He wasn't going to heal him from. The reason is that God didn't want him to get conceited....prideful.....egotistical. Paul was beaten regularly and was probably quite crippled.

Throughout the Bible, God has utilized the weak for His strength. Look at David and Goliath. He was a small shepherd boy who killed a giant with a slingshot and a couple of stones. No one had the courage to fight Goliath and David said, "I WILL!" Everyone just knew he was going to be toast. Not only did David kill him, he also cut off his head, as was the custom of the day in warfare. Look at Moses who had some kind of speech impediment and he told God he couldn't go to Pharaoh because of his speech. God told him to take his brother Aaron to speak for him.

God doesn't just Divinely heal, He heals through doctors. Plus, physical healing isn't the only healing God does. He also heals the spirit. A broken spirit can do as much damage, if not more, than a physical illness. My spirit is just fine! My body is kaput, but what I have isn't terminal, just painful. I have a dear friend who got cancer at the age of three right below the knee. Since that time, she's had cancer 2 more times. Today, she is fine, and a strong child of God. And, once she gets some money to buy a new laptop and starts working again, she'll be back on this board and she can tell you herself.

I personally went to 3 healing services, believing beyond belief that I would be healed. So, some years later, I finally got the courage to ask God why He hadn't healed me. I needed courage to ask. He told me that He could use me better like I am. If I were better, I wouldn't be as close to Him as I am. People, some of them, find that when things are going great, they don't depend on God as much as they should. Everythings fine. What more is needed? But when sorrows begin, well, there is an old expression: "There are no atheists in a foxhole."

This is a tough one. I've had GOD answer my prayers with Miracles...... like, when I was 33 I prayed for the Lord to take away my 'desire' for cigarettes..... and like that, He did.... I didn't have a single craving, withdrawal.... nothing, nada. Then one fine day about 3 months later I was 'tempted' to smoke... and like the weak IDIOT I can so be sometimes, I did. Like that, in the next instant I was a 'smoker' again. Drats! A few years later I prayed to God again to take away my desire for smoking, but this time it didn't work... He just didn't do it. I felt like; Well, it looks like I'm on my own this time. I did feel pretty bad for 'wasting' God's precious miracle on me the last time, so I wasn't upset with Him because He didn't perform another one concerning an OLD issue He'd already settled...YKWIM?

It's not a common choice of favorite Bible stories, but I do like the story of the Syrophoenician woman in Mark 7. When I was much younger I was puzzled by the story, and especially how some people interpret it (some liberal Christians think it proves Jesus was a product of his times) - it's only in the last few years I understood what it was about. It's a story that still confuses a lot of people- in honor based cultures people sometimes engage in conversation games when a matter of honor is challenged (and the woman, being a woman and a non-Jew has less social status than Jesus), and Jesus intentionally loses the conversation to prove a point to his disciples.

Me too, FireD. When I read it the first time, it seemed like Jesus was being rather tacky, and thats not the Jesus I know. He used her as an example of faith. Notice, she didn't bring her daughter with her. This is like the Centurion who asked Jesus to heal his servant. Scripture states here, first to the Jew and then to the Gentile. This was Bible prophesy fulfilled. We were grafted into the vine, as Jesus knew that most of the Jews wouldn't accept Him. It was always the plan.

It's so very interesting to read Scripture. It's just like letters, emails, and posts on the internet. We can't read and know His tone of voice or His facial expression. That's why we need (ME TOO!) to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Scripture to us in the tone it was meant to be. Great choice of stories! :)
