Sorry to hear your partner needs round the clock care :( I hope he makes a good recovery from his life saving op.

Thanks Chrissie, he's much older than me and not doing too well at the moment and to be honest it's not looking hopeful. He has other health problems too that are dragging him down and life is one big struggle for him but we're taking one day at a time and who knows what fate has in store for us. These meetings sound great, I didn't even know they existed but when I can I'd love to go to one.

I'm considering buying some e juice from Bestcigliquid but I have to choose the vg/pg mix and have no idea? Also their strengths start at 0mg and go up in 1mg right up to 36mg which I've never come across before and I'm not sure which strength is best to start on. I had halved my real cigarette intake fairly recently and was down to about 12 cigarettes a day which I've read makes a difference as to what strength you need to vape. Any advice welcome.

Ok... Still doesn't change my basic premise from their price. If they would be willing to give you a complete list of what's in their juices, where they source VG and PG and the purities of them, I would feel better. Until then it's firmly in my too good to be true list. I also look at any reviews from websites with extreme skepticism, as we all know a lot of companies delete all bad reviews from their sites. I would trust reviews from here far far more than I would from anybody out there selling stuff. I'll end this with my favorite saying... Caveat Emptor...

I must say that your finding cheap e-juice "too good to be true" really surprises me. When you consider that I or anyone else can DIY 10mL of vapeable juice for often less than $0.50 (50 cents), even the "cheapest" manufacturer's markup is astronomical and purveyors of so-called "premium juice" nothing short of criminal. ALL ejuice is nothing more than PG, VG, optional nicotine, and a bit of food-flavoring. What can go wrong there?

Hi cckayne

The E liquid price we were talking about was way back on this thread. It was basically 1 Euro For 10 ml. I agree some of the premium juices going for US over $10.00 for 12 to 15 mL is high, and they better be offering something very special at that price. That being said however, any company selling it for 1 euro is basically running at a seriously small margin if they having to pay for the overhead of buildings, clean rooms, employees etc. while still being able to source the highest quality ingredients. At that kind of margins something has to give, and unfortunately it's quite likely to be quality. Doing DIY myself, I know about the costs to produce my own as well. The price of juice is one reason I got into DIY because I prefer to know about the purity of my own ingredients and producing the flavors I like. The biggest reason to get into DYI IMO is going to be having your own ingredients and nicotine stored away before the government sticks it to us and you're not going to have any nicotine to buy. If big Pharma and Big Tobacco, having bought out the government and the FDA, in league with the anti-smoking crazies have their way, the only thing that is going to be available to us is going to be the crappy little Ciglikes with the sealed cartridges, the pricing of which will make the most expensive premium eliquid look ridiculously cheap.

A big hug for you (((((Kaydi)))))))

Hi Chrissie, I've received my tank and coils but no battery yet and I was wondering if you know whether I could get a battery from the local newsagents which I could then use as a spare once the istick comes? My partner has deteriorated and I'm waiting for the paramedics to come and assess him. He is incapable of getting out of bed today and will have to go back in hospital and the added stress is making me crave a cigarette. Obviously I can't get out to the newsagents yet but it would help if I knew whether I could get one from there and if so which sort I should get. Do they all work with the nautilus?

Hi Kaydi - reading through the thread I think you've got a Nautilus ? I've not used one of those but doing a search on ECF brought up this thread which might help - it looks as though if you can get an eGo type battery you should be OK with the Nautilus though the battery might drain fairly quickly. You'll then have an eGo for back-up once your order arrives.

I do hope your day gets better.

Gosh.. tough choice.

On the face of it, the iStick 30w and mini Nautilus would be my choice. The Aspire premium kit is a long and thin (eGo) battery, and the iStick is a little oblong box. Performance-wise, the 30w iStick is way in front too.
Some people still like the eGo batteries I guess.
You could get this for about £45 with free P&P. You'll need a discount code.

Aspire Premium Starter Kit [VE754-B1] - £49.95 : Vape Escape

The mini Nautilus is £18 (best price without trawling Amazon & eBay).
The coils are £9 (best price... etc.)
Charger "worth" about £4 (not a 99p one)

which adds up to £31. The battery has got to be good value at £14, I'd say.

Otherwise, you're going to need an iStick, the mini Nautilus and some coils, which is about
(£33 + £18 + £9) at Myepack, so more expensive. (Ouch, £60...)

ISTICK 30W

You could of course take the attitude than one battery is never going to be enough, and get either "set".

Please be careful where you shop. There are lots of stores that google will find who won't help you out if something goes wrong. Some won't even refund or replace, as they think they are above the law.

Good shops. Vape Escape, Myepack, Cloud9 vaping, iVapour, UKecigcabin - will sort you out in the event of problems.

The rest? Who knows. There are thousands of posts on forums about the other companies not looking after their customers.

I would go iStick, but you could get going on the cheaper Aspire kit and back it up with an individual iStick or other box mod or tube mod sometime in the future.

Please ask if anything doesn't make sense. :)
I don't know if you can help me I work in the construction industry and have already broken an mvp and 2 I sticks I'm looking to upgrade to a 50w mod but need something durable

You should start a thread about this :)
I can think of lots of good 50w mods, but not something chosen for durability.
There must be one, and maybe something you can get protective skins for (?)

Thanks Maytwin, my local newsagents couldn't help but suggested I try my local QD store which is the last place I'd have tried, you wouldn't know it but no doubt Chrissie will. It's a discount store selling everything from clothes to kettles but as it happened they have a stall on the side selling all sorts of e cigs and I got an istick for £35. Admittedly it's only a 20w istick but as its to be my back up battery I doubt that will matter (I'm waiting for a 30w one from Amazon which was actually cheaper than the 20w one). Anyway I'm up and running and yes it's tons better than my Vype pen and at last I'm getting a decent vape. I only put in a small amount of the Vermillion River e juice as my Onepoundeliquids also came today and I want to try one of those next so I can compare. I'll let you know later.

The only "durable" mod that I am aware of is the Heatvape Invader Mini.

Invader Mini

Supposed to be able to survive falls, being driven over, waterproof.

That's good that you managed to get an istick 20w - I'm actually vaping on my 20w at the moment ! Even if it was £35, if it keeps you off the cigarettes then it's money well spent and you already have your first back up :)
I'd be interested to here about the Onepoundeliquids as I have thought about ordering from them.

Hope all goes well.

What tank(s) have you got?

Thanks Maytwin, I felt so desperate to get a decent vape so I wouldn't give in to the cigarette cravings I probably would have paid a lot more than the £35. As you said its money well spent as its preventing me smoking. I've only gone 8 days (or it might be 9, I've lost count with so much going on!) but even so I really didn't want to ruin that by having a cigarette.
I'm down to just a tiny amount of e juice in the nautilus - should I vape until it's completely empty before putting in the Onepoundeliquids?

Well, you've made it over a week so congratulations ! It took me a while to completely lose my cravings (particularly for that first cigarette in the morning) but they will pass.

If you're going to put in a different liquid without changing or cleaning the coil you'll probably find the original flavour coming through for a while but it will diminish eventually. Don't let it get too empty or it won't taste nice !

If you vape it until nearly empty, it might well gurgle on you.
Either top it up with new liquid (hopefully of the same 'family' - tobacco, or fruit etc) and let the new flavour come through or empty the tank, rinse and fill.
I would empty the tank on £1 liquid myself... but not on expensive stuff. :)
