The FDA isn't an insurance company...

For the insurance company I am with, smoking cessation products are allowed, but not indefinitely.

It isn't difficult to understand how insurance companies work. Nicotine use is an easy way to get more money; determining whether one's kids elevate blood pressure isn't. It is also a choice...

Having children is a choice as well...:p

Doesn't make a bit of difference to me. I'm not out to change the world. Mine doesn't consider vaping smoking, so I get the discount...

So if it Doesn't Effect you First Hand, you Don't Care what goes on Around you.

I have to give you One Thing steve, I admire your Brutal Honesty. Even it Does Seem Awfully Self-Centered.

I'm not an activist...

Fair enough, but shouldn't you be?

I know there are fallacies to this example and your stance, but it was the first thing to come to mind...

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Vaping isn't a crusade for me. It's just how I quit smoking.

If Russia goes nuts after I move to Prague and has thoughts of re-enacting the spring of 1968, I'll be the first one up in the belfry of St. Vitus with a ProVari and my sniper rifle...

Helping someone save $40/month on their health insurance? No, I don't care about that.

I'm kinda going out on Limb here.

But why do I get the Impression that if it was 40 Bucks coming Out of Your Pocket every Month, that you would be Singing a Different Tune?

Or am I just Being a Realist?

Vapers are probably only about 5% of this population. ( The rest don't care, just like some posters we see here..
3/4 of all vapors seem to not have the the inclination to protect their own vaping rights. Vapers will not have any rights in this country before long, unless something drastically changes. Sad..

I am also on board for taking measures to counter the tests for nic use. Until some actual (scientific) evidence is proven to me that responsible vaping is harmful,( beyond the elevation of blood pressure, products like red bull and lots of coffee are close to what nic can do, and we can regulate that input at will. it should not be taxed on by gov't. or big business. Congratz to all who suceeded already.

I did some (amateur) research about a year ago (for about a week) on this and found that if you are at 12 or 18 mg. and probably don't normally do more than 3- to 5ml. a day. cutting the nic out for 4 to 7 days before a test would put you in the (second hand - bystander) range. But if you are able to to abstain more, certainly do.

I know my point here was to save the money, because by no means do i make a lot at my job and every penny helps. What bothers me, and almost all of my co-workers, is the fact that this is very invasive. Little by little our rights as americans are being taken away. If for some reason someone decides that any act we take, takes away from the large corporations making money then they will put a stop to it. Where does this end. Right now they are after smokers. I get it. It is bad for us, but where i live so is breathing in the air. Houston has very poor air quality. Just living here puts me at risk of cancer from all the chemical plants we have. I know i could move, but i cant afford to. Just becuase i live here, was born here, raised here does that mean that my insurance should go up? By most logic it should cause i am choosing to live here. Should i expect to pay more if i live in the rockies? Clean air, fresh water i should get to pay less for everything cause it is a better place to live. Does this mean that people that have no risk should pay nothing? In the end we are all going to die. No one gets out alive.

This is what happens when we give others a say in our health and well being. Asking them to pay for a part of it with socialized programs like Obamacare gives them that right.

Its for the greater good after all.

Sadly, its not going to stop there either. Expect body mass index tests and restrictions on what kinds of foods we can eat, as well as how much of a certain item we can buy (New York soda ban anyone?) in the near future.

Its only a matter of time before companies let people go for vague reasons that are actually related to higher cost for health insurance as well....unless things change drastically for the better in this country.

Were already seeing that in miniature with employers only hiring part time workers.

I agree. It is just a shame to watch what goes on. It really makes me sad.
