I've spent a fascinating but fruitless few hours trying to wade through the mass of information here. About all I have learnt is that the ecig world is huge and confusing and that those new to it and asking advice can help their cause by giving as much info to those trying to help.

So,

I'm late forties and have smoked for 30 years, consistently 20 odd a day. I spend most of my working life on aircraft so popping out for a quick one is not on and even ecigs are banned by my employer on board. I can however use them in most airports which is attractive because the cocking around of going out to the street then back through security is not worth it even if I had time between flights.

I enjoy the "hit" of the first few drags and enjoy smoking so no incentive to give up there. Ditto price, I get them cheaply Duty Free. The only incentive is health and convenience both of which give me a real desire to pack it in. Patches, gum, will power etc haven't worked.

So, I'm UK based, not a huge fan of Internet buying so shop bought is a preference, price is a factor (see Duty Free!) but above all I need a kit that will do 24 hours between charges and a fluid that gives the "hit" without the health side effects. It will need to be small to fit in a pocket easily so I don't spend my life unpacking my bag in security.

Not asking for much am I!!? Over to those who no more about it than me which is pretty much the entire free world.

Thanks in advance

When you find a good shop in the UK, consider a couple Ego or Ego twists or spinners (variable voltage and more expensive), as well as Vision ego clearomizers in low resistance (1.5-1.8ohms). To keep it small, you'll always want a spare battery or two. Try juices before you buy, then plan to keep a small 10-15 ml bottle handy when on board. Two complete ego setups with full clearomizers should be all you need for a day, oincluding backups, under most circumstances, but an extra bottle of juice and battery would make it a really safe small setup. Best of luck on making the switch!

Tough one, aren't you? :)
First, welcome to the forum. eGo twists or the KGO is usually what I advice newbies to start with (I prefer the KGO, but that's just me). Come at me a few months from now, and I'll be telling you Provari.
Definitely have backup batteries, especially if you want to go 24 hours between charges. Order small bottles of juice before getting bigger ones. I would also recommend an atomizer and drip tip. Not only because it's great for "testing" juices, but also because you're going to be on a plane a lot. I have never personally confirmed it, but I hear that clearomizers such as the Vision V3 or Kanger T3 might leak due to the change in pressure.
Hope this helps! :)

With the right flavoring, you can get that "throat hit" without nicotine! I am a chain vaper, I throw 0mg into the mix. Just as happy. Like I said, vaping becomes more about flavor! You get weak or icky flavor, you will not be happy! I know mint, menthol, or peppermint flavors pack a punch. Hookah flavors are nice too! Coffee flavors are actually pretty close to actual smoke, when tobacco flavors are close to pipe or cigar. I love fruit and candy flavors. I am a girl. I can do fruit or candy :D
