Great choice!! havent tried tghe v3 calix but the v1 was my firts 'high-end' atty and it is the only one of that era that i still have and will never sell (and i have turned over moire than 50 tanks since then). The deck config is a timeless design and nobody has bettered it imho..equalled arguably, but not better!
Received my Dwarv today. I must say it is a really nice vape. Flavor is great. Wicks great. I didn't realize it was bottom fill until after I ordered it, and was pretty bummed about that. However, it functions so we'll, I can't really complain. I took the airflow restrictor out and it is a really nice restricted lung hit (how I usually vape). I works so well, I am considering putting it back in and giving mtl a go and see how I like that. Overall, very happy with it.
As nuts as it is, and given the ridiculous number of atties i have, the dwarv is pretty much my go-to tank atm. It really is very excellent!!
SS316l spaced 2.5mm 5 or 6 wraps. Come in at .93 ohms. 23 watts without the air restrictor. Nice restricted lung hit (or loose mtl). Very nice.
27g micro around 2.5mm, 7 wraps (i think) of NiFe48. 210°C at 22J on Hellfire Phantom (350J V2)
I think designers of Spica had Skyline and GT3 on the desk when they were developing this tank.
I don't have the Skyline but I watched lots of videos and I can say air inlet of Spica is similar. Main difference is that wall of the chamber is a part of the deck instead of the bottom cup. Asymmetrical holes are taken from GT3.
JFC is again a mix of Skyline and GT3. Vaporization chamber is made out of 2 pieces like with Skyline, but inner piece doesn't move vertically. It rotates like with GT3. Even top piece that is used to regulate JFC is like they took the bottom part of GT3 that protrudes in to the tank and there are 2 small latches that lock on to JFC, and the upper part of Skyline.
Top part they didn't copy and it sucks. There are 2 holes that are big enough for a quick refill, but if I'm not careful, juice can get in to the main air channel. With thinner juices this is not a problem, but with thicker juices there is always some juice that is on the outer side of pippete and it gets messy and I have to clean it with a napkin. Spica V2 will be released when they sell the first batch. They mentioned some small changes and I think this is it.
Now I'm running my third build and I can say build deck is nice. Small but it's easy to build on. My second build twisted 28 gauge SS316L 3mm ID was too big for this tank. Flavor and vapor production were great, but the chamber is too small and I had a lot of condensation going on. Not just in the base but also in the top air channel which resulted in strange gurgling and bad airflow. Today I coiled Spica with 2,5mm ID 26 gauge SS316L (0,45ohm) and I also installed 2mm restrictor. Taste is terrific, throat hit is great. But now Spica is a MTL tank.
Maybe I'm installing coils that are too big for this tank because there is still condensation in the main air channel. Less than before but I still have some gurgling. Maybe I have to try with with 28gauge and only 5 wraps. Coil will cool faster and there will be less residual vaporization. Either way, this is my first MTL tank and I have to say I love it.
I've got a used skyline on the way, for under retail. I think a clone might be about to drop.
The skyline clones already dropped from copper vape.

Been using the Dwarv for a few days now. I can't say enough about it. Do i think it is overpriced? Yes. Only because it is so simple and not much to it (bottom fill, no adjustable air flow, plastic tank). However, would i recommend buying it? Absolutely! This thing just works. easy to build, perfect wicking, great flavor, perfect RLH (imho) without the air restrictor. I have tried a few different flavors and each one seems better flavor than my other high end attys. Seems like it is my go to for now.
