But, the thing is, it's vapes just f-----g awesome and edges out every other atty I've ever used, for flavor. It's perfectly imperfect.

OTOH I'm a barbarian who doesn't deserve nice things, because honestly, The kayfun 5 on 4 dots, wide open, takes me to a very happy place that's within 5-10% of the Hussar and Skyline, and Rose v3 (all of which I use restricted DL, I don't really do MTL with any of 'em). None of them are really significantly better, than a kayfun 5, in my opinion.
My KF 5's are always wicked and full. To date they are my daily drivers. The Origen V2 MKII wins on flavor but doesn't suit me for ramming about. The Rose V3 is a good vape but a PITA IMHO. I dust if off when I feel fiddly.

Crud, I'm such a stooge for loosing that seal! Perfectly imperfect, nicely said!!!

It's a strange one the Hussar, if they had got the build quality to the same level as the Skyline it would have been perfect.

Hi Mark!

Agreed on that. My original unit had a faulty PMMA tank which didnt fit onto the chimney assembly at all. Thene the micro kit had, as far as I can tell, a faulty ultem tank and chimney section. However, their CS is absolutely top-notch and they sent me two replacement PMMAs in the first instance and an entire, new micro tank the second time, both with really quick postage and no questions asked. Impressive.
Skyline is the best made atty I have ever had, no doubt!

Yeah, I am ordering one after a friend let me borrow his for a day. The flavor and density of the vapor is just so good. I enjoy a really warm vape so this tank is perfect. I only wish it was available in 25mm.

I hAve one coming as I kind of have a funny story with this RTA. My friend has one and he was telling me how I absolutely needed to get one and that it's the best thing since ....ing sliced bread. I have over 200 atomizers so when someone says that I take it with a grain of salt. Anyways I said OK show it to me he handed me his mod and im looking at it. Felt very nice and well constructed but as in handing it back to him I noticed something. He's got a freaking .85 coil in it and the wattage was dialed to 100w as I am notice this he is putting the atomizer to his mouth like he is going to vape it and I yanked his hand away from his mouth and he looks at me all wide and says ... ! Im like dude I just saved you from the mother of all dry hits lol and he's like what do you mean I have been vaping this all day..... Upon further inspection the tank literally wicks so well that you can push crazy high wattage and voltage to high resistance coils and it just vapes instead of just shooting molten hot burnt cotton and burnt wire into your mouth. It's very strange so I said screw it went directly home and put my order in for one.

I'm with you completely. The Kayfun 5 for a restricted DL is pretty much unbeaten currently in terms of performance. In terms of use and aesthetics that's a different matter. Some other RTAs come close in those other departments or best it... but they still dont deliver that same dense, smooth flavor with such ease. KF5 is still king of the RTAs IMHO. The two next best (recent) attys to come close are cheap little things. The Cthulhu MTL followed by the Ammit RTA. Inexpensive (no place for this thread i know) and insanely good performance... but lacking the fit and finish of the near-perfect KF5.

I've tried the Hussar, Rose V3... i own the spread of Hurricane RTAs and an OG UberToot...

It's so subjective but does an RTA exist that really bests the KF5 from a vapor quality perspective?

Don't get me wrong I love my kayfuns I have authentics of the light plus, mini v3 and v5. However I prefer the light plus and the mini v3 to the v5. I know your saying direct lung and it's a good vape and for my custards it's great but it gives me such a narrow flavor range it just doesn't blow my socks off. I have the MTL adapter and it's good im getting a good vape but I still can't help but feel svoemesto tried to do too much with it and instead of really being amazing in one area it's good in a couple. Now that being said this is subjective and I know there are a lot of people who disagree with me. It sucks because I want to love it so bad but it's just been collecting dust 8(..... For direct lung single coil atomizers I much prefer the the rose v3, Vapor giant mini v4, hurricane junior, the taifun gt3 augvape merlin/merlin mini and even the serpent Alto(I know the last ones are Chinese mass manufactured items so don't belong here) Unfortunately I have not tried a skyline or authentic Hussar due to price and scarcity.

Maybe it's time to dust my kayfun v5 off pull the MTL restrictor out and put a mini 2x30gx38g fused clapton in it and give it a go again.

Actually I think they did ok, I don't personally like it bc I always have issues with atties that rely on vacuum, but my gf loves them, always has buy even she said the 5 was a game changer for her and got rid of all her kfl's and 3minis, it was the first time in years (since probably the invention of TC) Toth at I've seen her excited about a peice of vape gear. For someone like her, who doesn't want to even think about vaping, hates rebuilding and needs stuff to be simple and reliable, I can't honestly think of a better rta.

She runs them in TC on dna75's with SS 430 and rayon, dry burn and rewick once a week, recoil once a month. And there's lots of ppl like that, actually people like us are on the minority, but I think that's who they kind of built it for. Notice this one was also only $100 instead of $190 as before.

What I need (i am MTL or Restricted DL type) is 22mm atty , height is no more than 5 cm, single coil bottom airflow, good juice chanel to handle high VG (since all liquid now is high VG) simple juice flow (like hussar just klik klik), top fill (with air escape like kayfun 4 top nut to prevent air pressure in tank), no direct mount from PC tank to SS material for everlasting age. Airhole plug in option from 2mm, 2,5mm and 3mm varian. Short drip tip. And I think thats will be all LOL

On the Rose v3, I'm with @JRFII I take it out when I'm feeling fiddly ;-) I've had no real problems with it after reading the wicking thread on ECF and utilizing the "S" cotton with balled ends tut from @RabbiXX HERE all my problems with the Rose went away. (Well no, wait, I also got their new stiffer AFC spring; THEN my problems went away.) I guess what I'm saying is... it is fiddly in my experience too. This could mean I simply haven't spent enough time with it, but sometimes I get the feeling they did a lot of things differently, just to be different, not because they work better than some other method.

On the other hand, the Hussar has better flavor than the Rose v3 -- or any other RTA I've ever used for that matter -- and it's not fiddly at all. It just works, really well, and it's very simple.

On the third hand, the Rose v3 looks REALLY cool :) (see also: Skyline).

I'm not allergic to Chinese attys, they make some decent stuff which doesn't really attain art-quality build levels, but you're paying basically nothing for the attys, so hard to complain 'bout that, I won't elucidate at length 'cuz this is the $$$high-end$$$ RTA thread, but I really like the Merlin from augvape too, serpent mini is a great stealth vape (haven't tried the alto yet).

@Sed8op8 if you want to try the Hussar, Oscar has them in stock @ VapinArt right now, I think ESG also has them (or did last week). The last time I talked with Vassilis he said the Skyline would be back in stock within 2-3 weeks (and that was a week ago).

With the Kayfun 5... IDK, perhaps it's not the best RTA at any particular thing, but for me at least, it's definitely second-best at almost everything. The bar is raised pretty high w/ Hussar, Rose v3, Skyline, so being within 5-10% of those, is pretty good (in my humble opinion). I personally think it's the best thing SvoёMesto has ever released, and I've been using Kayfuns since the first one. I've already mentioned that though, so I'll shut up about the Kayfun 5 now ;-)

Cheers,

Current daily drivers :)

Is that the Terra tank with like 8 coils? Look forward to hearing how it works. Not only performance, but like, how it works. The photos of it confuse me.
No we are referring to the envii artisan which is a single coil RTA . However I do know which one your talking about though.

having had a good look at it, this Skyline with the Sky deck is setting a very high bar for other modders to match. Absolutely brilliant and the idea one can select any of the deck inserts at purchase is excellent. I assume this will come as standard on future versions meaning the early adopters will end up spending well north of 200 eur on this tank but them's the breaks I guess.
