I'm mostly looking forward to the new deck flayour and juice control, larger wick wells etc. The airdisks are a great idea though!! I now have yet another >£200 atty to go with the hussar and the raven's moon and i still want a polished ultem tank/dt...ridiculous really haha!
Ok, my OCD is in high gear now. Just checked out the Ravens Moon and FicticousFreedom here. Tell us about this rta. Is it worth the investment? Do you use it regularly or is it a unicorn on a shelf? I am really intrigued.

First I should say that i got it in a trade for a couple of high-end items so didnt pay quite as much as the new cost but still a lot! I love it dearly but i must say for me, it is a bit too airy so dont use it as much as it deserves. The flavour with just a twisted 30g SC build is really off the charts - totally dripper quality flavour. I have no idea what it would do with a dual twisted or a couple fo claptons in there. Stratospheric i would imagine. The build quality is stellar and you get a 5ml and 7ml tank for RTA use and another tank for dripper mode. Wicking is a bit tricky and top-filling is not so good as there is no JC so its a bit hit-and-miss whether you get a bit of flooding action. Bottom fill works fine though and that's what i do. If yiou like well crafted gear and and loose M2L/D2L-style vaping, i doubt there is much better around to be honest. It is bloody expensive but it is, in all respects, about as high-end as it gets imho!

Thank you, I really appreciate your insight and experience on this device. I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
These types of devices are a conflict for me as I have a great appreciation for heirloom quality craftsmanship that sometimes flies in the face of my vaping style. This combined with a sometimes low tolerance for fiddling about to get something working properly make some decisions challenging.
Perhaps I should stay focused on the Skyline release that is forth coming.
Again, thanks!

most welcome! I did just edit an error. I meant to say it is a very loose M2L and better used as a D2L. Fully open it really is very airy indeed!
Anyway, a very different beast to the Skyline!!

I'm glad I found this thread... I have only recently dived into High End RTA's in search of the perfect vape and I must say it's been and interesting exercise. I bought a Skyline, Hussar, Pico, Sherman and Hurricane V2.

The Skyline and Hussar stand out in the crowd for me and they are both outstanding RTA's! It's been a long time since I have been in a real happy place with vaping...

$240 US??? Didnt Todd say the machining was a bit dodgy (although I seem to remeber it was an early 'prototype'. Expensive kit though!!
Actually it is $179 so much better. I quite like the look of it and sound of it from Mark's review...now how to get one?!?!

We are just as bad as one another :p I did buy a spare glass tank. The polished Ultem does look very good, but I prefer glass and there are so few decent glass attys these days that I decided against getting the ultem :)
i really wish you had posted that before I had ordered the skydeck and forgotten to add a spare glass tank...:( oh well next time!

I'm seeing a lot of great things on this skyline! Tbh I thought I might have been done looking for any more tanks, but I might just have to look into this one. Is it a tall tank? I kind of like smaller, less capacity tanks. All my current rta's are nano versions , so just curious if the SL comes in a smaller version? Sounds like it's right up my alley as my current rta's are the evl reaper (nano version, would of never purchased the standard size as it looked way to tall), byka v6 (again nano size), kayfun mini v3, erlkonigin, and a couple of gg talimos. So just curious how the skyline might compare ?

The Skyline is around 10mm shorter than the Kayfun 5. There is a smaller tank coming out at some stage soon I believe

If you like your nano RTAs then you should have a look at the Hussar Nano kit - it's around 2ml tank capacity and looks awesome, the Micro is around 3.5ml from memory

So... I like the Hussar a lot, obviously this means I needed another one, and a buncha accessories, and... well, ya know how it goes. Anyhoo, there seem to have been some changes between the one I just picked up vs. the one I've had for a few months.

Old one came in the round tube, new one comes in the rectangle-shaped box. The spares are different and seem to contain 2 full size screws vs. (whatever the tiny screws for the old one are supposed to do); the O rings seem to be thicker all around, the hex wrench is gone, and the single coil build deck now has an insulator that's gold or copper-plated ...?

Perhaps this is all old news, but I'm one of those people who can't stand Facebook and only logged in a fake account to makes purchases with all the vendors who are too dysfunctional to put up a WordPress site and make you join facebook to do business with them (Grrrrr).

I'd take this moment to complain why Hussar can't be bothered to hire some high school kid off fiverr or upwork for $50 who would at least put up a webpage for them that works, and contains some contact info (even if that contact info is join our FaceBook group), 'cuz in 2017 the inability to put up even a placeholder website with basic contact info, places your company squarely within the differently-abled/dysfunctional category... but they sho' do make awesome attys, so there's that. But seriously, with their margins on $200 attys, it's just silly...

Left deck = the new Hussar I just got / Right deck = one of the spare single coil decks I've had for a while, but is identical to the deck my other Hussar came with.

Left = New spares pack / Right = old spares pack.

Yeah I hear ya :) However it does seem that many of the high-end RBAs and mods are only available by Facebook groups - which is indeed a pain.

The new one has an upgrade of materials the SS used and the gold plated positive post. New packaging is indeed the rectangle box.

I never had the little grub screws or allen key in my 2nd gen spares bag (first one with the Ultem tank standard)

I dont have the latest gold plated post that you have.

Agree completely, this is the main reason I think so many high end modders fail and why their sales have dropped so considerably. been vaping about 7 years and seen a million of them come and go, while the ones that were able to stick around I can count on one hand.

High end gear in general had become a lot less popular, but that's an easy one obviously the Chinese stuff has gotten much better, but I also think it's mostly bc a lot of the desirable ones can't be arsed with setting up a website, and they don't realize 90% of most people aren't going to want to join a Facebook group, or forum and stalk it constantly.

Then there's the qc issues, qc has always been off here & there on high end devices, but I've seen qc go waaaay downhill in high end mods over the last few years... and getting the modders to deal with their mistakes, on a 200+ dollar atty or a 400+ dollar mod is a damn nightmare, and when they finally do after months of poking and prodding they act like they are doing you a favor. It's gotten to the point where it just gets silly, and people done want to deal with it any more, make someone go through that once or twice they're going to be done with it for good. That migh've worked in the past, someone waits excitedly 6 months to a year for an item they're more likely to overlook a few issues, but that stuff doesn't fly anymore when there are much cheaper options w/ perfect CS. I don't want to see high end modders fail, but these days they need to step their game up if they want to survive imo.
