@kiba have you tried a Skyline, Reaper or Vapor Giant Mini V4... all pretty excellent rta's.
I had the old reaper and I have the skyline, they aren't really my thing but my gf uses the skyline now and she really loves it. I'm more or less happy with just the hussar and narda, that's pretty much all I'm using these days.

I did hear that I should try the vg but I'm done buying atty's I haven't tried & I don't know anyone who has one, plus rn i just spent some money on a BT, maybe I'll pick up the clone to try it out first.

Did anyone else pre-order the pico v2? Release is the 31st this month I can't wait for mine to arrive. Lots of extras available with the pre-order as well. The consensus seems to be that the flavor is awesome. I ended up selling my skyline because I really did not like it, beautiful machining but the flavor just wasn't there for me. I was told that the flavor was almost as good as the hussar but I wouldn't even say it had better flavor than the kayfun 5 or the rose3. That's just me though.

looks like it will be too airy for me. Happy with the V1 to be honest.

The consensus is that the Skyline flavour is awesome (which i find it to be) but of course, it's just a set of opinions. I would stack the skyline, hussar, kf5 and rose3 very close together in flavour terms also. I just dont like the Rose 3 design choices but the others are all fantastic atties, as is the pico v1!

interested to see what you think of the v2 :)

ps. I'm pretty sure problems with skyline flavour all derive from wicking. If I over wick it, its pretty meh so I can see why some might not rate it as highly...

Hey Steve thanks for your feedback. I was very surprised by the performance I was getting from the skyline. Everyone was telling me how great it was and thats what I was expecting. I had the thing for about a month and wicked it a million different ways. A lot of cotton, very little cottin, 2.5 vs 3mm coils and still no good. I'm not going to say that it didn't have flavor at all because it did. Sometimes the flavor was pretty good, not the best but pretty good, but then the dark nasty color would start seeping out of the juice flow holes and I would need to to wick 3 hours later. I decided that with the type of juices I like, it just didn't perform well. I'm a 70/30 desert juice guy and I couldn't get any of those rich notes out of the skyline. 1 month of trial and error for a sub par vape. It was driving me nuts. Hoping the Pico will be better for me, I will definitely let you know how I like it.

Same here, I feel pretty much the same way about it. I also tried a whole bunch of different builds as well, then there was the dark juice thing after a few hours vs the hussar which still looks clean @ 2 weeks in.

Yeah, I just don't think anything can beat the hussar for now. In regards to the skyline, it would seem the two of us are in the small minority.

idk I saw a lot of comments on the YouTube vids about the dark juice thing, I had to basically starve the wick with the jfc & set TC @ 400 so that it wouldn't do that, but also wouldn't burn but it gave weak hits like that.

Yeah for the type of juice I vape I just found the skyline to be awful for me. My friend bought one as well. He got pretty good flavor with a menthol liquid but I suspect that's just because the flavor is so pronounced in menthol juices. When he tried a custard juice there was absolutely no flavor at all. My cousin also has the skyline, he claims to be getting amazing flavor from it but whenever I take a puff off of his I find the flavor to be muted. Perhaps it performs best as a mtl tank. I only used it as direct lung.

I have come to the conclusion that the dark juice problem on the Skyline is unsolvable. There may be some juice that reflects this problem more than others. I also find that the Skyline performs reasonably well as a mtl tank but I prefer restricted direct lung so it is not really working for me. I still have mine in rotation but it is about to be retired. I have many tanks I enjoy more. Still it is all part of this hobby to explore new things.

The weird thing is I've heard both, a couple of mtl people were talking about that on YouTube and they all agreed that it wasn't great for mtl but probably works better in dtl. idk though I tried almost all of the air discs (besides the one that's too big for any coil you can get in there) and I never got it to stop seeping unless I literally starved it.

Personally though my main problem with it besides all the ones people normally complain about (vacuum seepage Etc) I realized after a few weeks of different builds that I just hate the deck, wells that small are problematic for me because I hate trimming that much off of my wicks... feels like I'm trimming 90% of it off, and I still have to pack it in, I feel like they are just unreasonably small & 2.5 mm or less coils aren't my preference

If I was to fix it myself, I'd make the air Inlet smaller, it doesn't need to be so big because the big disks don't even work right for the size of coil you can get in there. With a smaller air Inlet I feel like there's be more well space.

I agree with you 100%. I dont like how small the wick holes are and I also dont like how you have to push the coil over so that it sits over the airflow evenly. At that point one coil leg is longer than the other and then the coil doesn't heat up from the inside out even. The posts should have been set better because no matter what the coil is crooked over the airflow unless you push it way over.

I've been using mine for about a month without any flooding or seeping and I don't use the air disks at all in this tank. I really like it with heavier gauge kanthal or stainless and it works great on my TC mods. The deck is deep enough and the airflow tall enough that after you build and wet the cotton you just dress the wick off the airflow and you should have no problems. I mtl and dl hit just by adjusting the AFC.

Its a simple tank to build and if you dress the wicks once they are wet it should stop any seeping issues.

This ones no Air disk installed either
no leaking or dry hits,
kept wick away from airflow under coil,
and only wicked over decks juice channels not covering the deck

Yeah my cousin has used his like that but it was too much wasted air for me, just like missing it or hitting the legs where it doesn't need it, and it's also got that big cutout for where the tab goes. In terms of maximum performance, ideally you'd want a coil much bigger than the air inlet & that directed at the center of the coil where it gets hot. It kind of just gets dispersed everywhere when it leaves the inlet so a really big slot needs a much bigger coil that's also close enough to catch it all.

But who knows, some people like wasted air, like a built-in carburetor I guess, I know some people also rather crank an AFC ring down to like a sliver than use a reducer which just seems crazy to me bc that air is coming out so slow it makes it really harsh & unpleasant to me, but some people obviously like that, it's all preference.

idk if doing anything with the disks or coil/wicks is going to solve this problem, if you use juice with very little sucralose like my cousin's menthol stuff it's harder to notice it but its still slightly flooding at all times, & with 2.5 mm or less it's not forgiving at all... it's like a.... I don't want to say design flaw but that's what comes to mind, this atty just generates way too much vacuum.

but yeah, looking at the hussar vs the skyline it's just a smarter design imo, all the slots, double and triple holed discs are really cool, but useless due to the small size of coil you have to fit in there, on a coil that size and 2.5mm dia, the spot that actually gets hot is only about 2mm... the hussar has a lot of vacuum too, but it gets managed better due to how the juice comes in, but its not the first time a modder has put out a product w/ poor fluid dynamics or aerodynamics or w/e it is... (btw if you want a good laugh check out Scott's vid on the super T strata)

Eta

The funny thing was, I knew some of this before buying it, my cousin had sat his on the shelf after he was so happy to finally get one, I guess I thought finding the perfect disk or w/e would sort it out. hopefully they come out with a better deck for the skyline in the future.

Yeah, I'm waiting for my cousin to get one of those so I can try it. At this point in my life I'm kinda done shelling out $200 for an atty I've never tried.

It's hard enough with the ones you have tried, like the skyline you discover thongs you don't like about it only after using it a while.

An thats why theres a growing china C market ,
I know some hate the idea ,
but allows you to try the style (even if not same quality)
To see if it fits for your needs
If not for C,s
I wouldn't of tried Squape s or Taifuns, glad i did and now own Authentic Version of both
I know some say quality isnt the same ,
but some Actually are as good they allow you to try the unusual build decks / wicking and JFC style and if its something you like then shelling out 100£ + isnt so bad after a 20$ C, as long as your choosing a Quality C manufacturer to start.
but to shell out 100£+ at a stab in the Dark thats a little to expensive RTA for most.

The price on the spica is only 45£ , but still a risk via bank transfer payment ,
