I've made a few of the tanks, but was lucky to find very flexible rubbery pen grips that I can use for the top seal. So filling with a needle is easy, as the rubber is soft enough to allow me to slide the needle in. I'm going to try the 3ml syringe plunger as a filling hole seal though, what a great idea.

When I fill with a needle, I use two of them to stop the juice leaking. One of the needles is attached to a syringe with juice, the other just the needle part stuck in to allow air to flow out. So when I add the juice, air can escape through the second needle. It works well for me.

My rotation of these tanks using those grommets. Excluding the one Liquidnator on the Buzz Pro.
Edit: here is the link again. Vinyl Grommet 5/16 Bore Diameter

Easy peasy to make.

Is this a different size from the BD 3ml's? I have lots of those.

Hey, I had some 3 ml BD syringes and an ideal 3 ml syringe. The plungers *are* different between the two. The Ideal syringe plunger is thicker and has a wider groove. The BD one is thinner (and I think a little bigger, but I don't have it in front of me right now) and it has a shallower, thinner groover. I tried to use it as a plug and it didn't work very well. YMMV, of course.

i use the 11/32 drill bit on the plunger to make the initial hole. then i tape a strip of sandpaper to a nail and wrap it around till its about the right diameter then sand out the center of the plunger hole and make it nice and clean. for me i get better results this way then trying to punch them out straight. and it works on plungers that have the tiny hole in them - in fact the smaller the original hole the better so you can make the whole thing the right inside diameter you want.
i think the ideal 20ml syringe is the only one that has the right size opening in the plunger to start with. and they are not all the same either. i have found some with 2 ridges and some with 3 ridges. also some of ideal syringes have the other plunger with the different size hole but i have not found any way to see this before purchase as they all have the same stock and sku numbers and all that.

just hold tank with the feed slot or hole above the juice and you can use a pointy needle right through the cap. no need for 2nd needle to let air out or trying to work needle in the edge. but i like the 3ml plunger for the fill port i will have to try that lol

just as a note anybody wants to do this on a ce2 - use the 11/32 drill through the luer lock fitting from the inside of the syringe. the resulting tube left by the luer lock fits perfectly on the base of a clearo ce2 with the tube removed. make your top cap the same way but put a piece on the clearo tube in it to hold the cup seal for the ce2. put the top on and fit in the ce2 seal and your good to go. i use the 12ml ideal syringes makes a ~5ml ce2 tank.

I had the same 20ml syringes that you made. The rubber pieces were very flimsy. I went to Tracter supply and noticed that they have 2 different types of syringes. I opened each box and noticed the rubber pieces were different. I bought the ones that had the thicker rubber pieces and it works better. They come in a 4 pack for under 4 bucks.

I used 20ml BD syringes today to make a tank. The rubber pieces are pretty flimsy, but the thing works. I've been using it for hours, no leaking. Still...would feel better if it were the thicker end caps.

Thanks for that tip, I'll check it out. I still have no leaking with this one I made today. It's doing quite well. I can lay it down, even had it in my pocket a couple of times...but I don't trust it to go out and about with me.

On all mine, Im only putting 1 slot in them. They all wick great so far.

Yeah, I'm punching one hole in my cartos and no issues with wicking.
