Hey wyojoe - been searching the thread but still not sure what a SADDLE VALVE is or where you get one!! - when you use this, does it put a big dimple in the carto - this always happened when I used a finishing nail and hammer so I went to a hacksaw - BTW, just had a 510 dual coil start leaking - others have speculated that the filler is TOO absorbent and tends to get oversaturated - so....removed the top end cap, poured the juice into a bottle and vaped the carto for anothter couple hours just fine - (will try a smaller slot on the next one) actually, it's still vaping great - I'm so into tanks though that when it dries out, will prob toss - just can't bring myself to drip more juice into it - any kind of dripping is just so yesterday - Thanks
debb in post above has a link to show what it is. Some of them don't have a nut on the screw and I like them better, they just screw into the bottom piece with out needing a nut, so its a little easyier to screw together because you can turn the bottom of the screw with your fingers to snug it up on the carto. It works great and just a little dimpling but looks good. The last one I am using now I put 2 holes in it near the bottom of the plunger, and used the saddle valve screwed together hand tight, after positioning the carto where I want the to hole to be. Then I turn the handle of the saddle valve all the way until it stops. You will hear it pop when it first pierces the carto then keep turning until it stops. Its a little messy but you might want to start with just 1 hole and see if it works ok, if not drain the tank and take the carto out and punch another hole. These tanks do make your cartos last alot longer. Hope this helps.

Yesterday after over three weeks use, had to replace the 510 DC carto on my second tank. The draw rapidly fell off. My Vanilla Bourbon 2x is my darkest and 'heaviest' flav. So, I'm still quite pleased with the overall performance and life span.

My first tank carto, constantly feeding my DIY Iffy's Peach, is still kickin' major booty.

BTW, I reluctantly must withdraw my efforts in condensing the pertinent info within this thread. It's just too large. Sorry...

1) Punch hole in carto 1.5 cm above connector.
2) Cut a plastic 20ml syringe to a bit shorter than carto.
3) Use carto to punch holes in the rubber stoppers (so 2 syringes needed) and assemble like this :

tank10mls.png

Outer (syringe) tube can have a plugged hole for easy (re)filling.

Useful: sharp screw or saddle valve for making carto hole; earing back for refilling hole.

(succinct) summary done :)

Add detail and pass it on (repost) and we'll soon have the verbose, comprehensive version with all pertinent stuff such as alternatives and options neatly condensed.

To OP and All other contributors. Thanks for a good informative post. I have made a couple of these. Epic fail with syringes that I could get in my area. The black rubber stoppers were too thin. Tried gaskets from hardware store, yuck. You can really taste the rubber in them. Bought a 3 of these already made, with a dct tank. They are working great. They were made with the aforementioned IDEAL 20 ml syringes. Finally had the funds to buy some syringes from Animal Health Express (which was also mentioned in this thread :), and will be able to make up 25 tanks from that purchase. I still have yet to buy the Saddle for punching my cartos. But the trick with the wire strippers was Awesome! (Hubby has those lying around being an electrician :) I also make that hole just a bit bigger with a gentle tap of a hammer with a nail. Works great. Have had my cartos last about a week or so. But I am a heavy vaper and usually fill about 3 times a day. Thanks for all the great info! Love this on my ProVari. Yep, that's why I was broke. :)

I go thu about one tank a day. I guess thats about 3ml.

I refill my most used tank at least once a day. My tank holds 4.5ml, not counting the carto. I usually refill when it's down to 1/4 tank. Yes, I'm using more joose with my Buzz Pro and syringe tank than I do with my eGo batts and eMDCCs... BUT it's well worth it!

Finally got the stainless resurrectors from CCV today - they threw in an extra box because they kinda dropped the ball on my order and I appreciated that.

Made two more tanks today and put resurrectors in all three - they're now hitting as hard as my EMDCCs do and hold more juice - we'll see if they last as long.

Here's a pic of my tanks. Some are liquinators, some are homemade syringe tanks. Each one has a different flavor. I have a few more that didn't make it for the photoshoot, including the one I'm vaping right now atop my Buzz Pro Mist. I switch constantly, so it's nearly impossible for me to know how much liquid I use daily. I would guess around 4-6ml.

Color me green with envy! :p Those are gorgeous.

Wanted to share the earring cushions I found at Michaels. Previously I had cannibalized my own clip on stash to get these for the fill hole port. Luckily Michaels arts and crafts carries them. I think they were 2.99 for the package.

I have probably a dozen more syringe tanks waiting for a fill plug and a flavor. I diy, so I have tons of custom flavors. I probably vape 7-10 flavors a day, depending on the day. I occasionally have a rare day when I will only vape 1 or 2.

Sweet! I count seven S/Ts in there. How many flavs do you vape a day, not counting sampling?

That's great! I have been a jewelry designer by trade for 20 years, so I have accumulated a whole room of jewelry supplies, too. It wouldn't be the 1st time I've seen jewelry parts used for other applications.

I would like to see these work on our tank mods. Anyone use these?

Sorry for the lousy picture, but this is a 6mm round earring post glued into a rubber earring back with a 7mm green rhinestone glued onto the post. Fits really well into a hole I punch with one of those rotary leather punches.

It's really small so it's syringe fill only, but it works for me -

Here's a pic of the plug in a tank - this one's a clear rhinestone that unfortunately caught the flash but you can get an idea of the size -
