Just wondering if I'm the only one with an older car with no AC having almost constant gurgling issues on hot days...

I'm using 70pg/30vg juice in an Aspire tank and would consider something with more VG if I could get it from the same vendor and the same flavor...Adding just VG would be too much taste kill since vaping while driving with windows open already is taking away most of the taste... I'm hoping I can fix most of that when I get juice with less nic for my brand new Russian 91%, but I'm not expecting much of a miracle either.

Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have an easy workaround better than holding your 250$ PV out of the window while driving at 60 MPH?? I have sworn my next car will have AC, but I have to stick with what I have for now, else no more new vaping toys :D

How can driving with the windows open diminish the flavor of any juice, Hot Cold or otherwise?

The air coming in the window has nothing to do with you drawing on the mouth piece of an atomizer which is where the taste/flavor comes from.

The slight raise in outdoor temperature should not have any affect on the thickness of your juice as once you fire the atomizer 2 or 3 times the whole think heats up. Unless you are use to using your vaporizer in 50° or lower temps during the fall, winter and spring seasons the summer temps should not have to great an affect on it.

Try storing the device(s) upside down when not in use. This will keep the internal air pressure equalized in the tank as the temp rises. Otherwise the pressure will force liquid into the coil/head.

I have also found that flooding occurs from going up and down large hills, just like when your ears pop. Since I started putting my Aspire and Kanger devices in a cup in the cup holder with the drip tip down, my flooding has diminished while traveling...

Living in Arizona I do experience issues when my devices are left in the car, even for a quick trip inside a store. My Taifun gurgles and even leaked out once. I recommend the Magma dripper ($15 fasttech clone.) It vapes like a Kayfun/Russian and holds enough liquid that you could probably fill it for the drive.

Oh yeah, definitely.

My setup is a run-of-the-mill 650 EVOD with a mini protank 2 on it. 1.8 coils.

On really hot days the liquid is so thin that it will gurgle and occasionally flood, especially on a weak battery.

On a fresh battery, I actually like it because the flavor is amazing and the strong battery just rips through juice like nothing.

Granted, a fresh EVOD won't stay fresh for long and it'll start gurgling and flooding a bit cause the battery can't keep up so I just keep an extra baggie with flavor wicks in it.

When I break out a new coil, I remove one of the top flavor wicks because that's the setup that works well with my juice in most conditions. I keep these wicks in a baggie in my little portable vape gear case.

Next week I'm attending a 2 day rock fest with about a hundred bands sharing I think 5 stages from 11am to well past 2am. So far, the weather forecast is on the scorching hot side so I'll add a flavor wick to my coil for the weekend and it'll be fine across all stages of battery life.

I live and work around Atlanta GA and have never had any of this happen even when I leave my stuff in the car by accident. I did come out of a house one day and my stuff that was in the shade sitting on the passengers seat was now in direct sunlight and it was HOT.

You know what, I didn't use it until it cooled down. But other than that it has been in the 90° range here a few days and my shop it's air conditioned so it gets upwards of 88-90. Never had this happen.

What kind of atomizer? Heat thins e-liquid for sure.

Aspire DBC and V3 Nova. The larger the tank, the more it becomes a problem.

Maybe I'm one of the only 2 people to have experienced this (a friend of mine actually made me realize this back in my smoking days) but smoking in windy conditions diminishes the taste greatly and I have noticed I can barely taste my vape when driving with the windows open. Maybe using an RBA will counter this greatly...

I'm not talking about a slight rise in temperature. The inside of the car can be a good 10C over outside temperature even after rolling for a while.

Try storing the device(s) upside down when not in use.[...]

That's definitely something to try.

For most drives, anyways. Something else to consider...

I hope you're not leaving lithium batteries in those conditions!

Leaks are inconvenient but the smaller issue, burning your lips off with a drip tip left in a hot car sucks worse than any leaking issue. Not that it happened to me but I've heard stories........

For God's ache! I never thought of that...I guess it can also be an issue in the winter!
I'll use a plastic tip when I go out from now on...

the only time I have any flooding issues with my KFL and Russians is in the damn car and the heat
... it's very very annoying as I'm in my car all day everyday almost.... so I will try the upside down thing

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2

I have days where I drive a lot, so it's good to know ahead of time that the Russian will also be affected. I'll have to go for upside down myself, then.

The hot weather is a caveat of tank auto-wicking based toppers. The culprit is a combination of both the hot weather thinning the liquid, and the pressure change.

Clearos, carto-tanks, and Kayfun/Taifun types are all gonna give you some really annoying leaking and gurgling. I've had clearomizers leak their entire contents out, and carto-tanks ooze juice to the point of being unvapeable last summer. It was such a pain in the balls.

Really, the only bullet-proof solution is drippers/RDAs or non-tank fed simple cartomizers.

A bottom feeding mod like a Reo, Oliver, Sunbox, Puzzlebox, etc, are really good systems for drippers/RDAs, and even cartomizers. If you're using already thin PG e-liquid, you may require a reducer tube, but otherwise absolutely no leaking at all, and obviously no gurgling with a bottom fed system. You are in complete control of the juice, not the weather or pressure change.

I briefly used a Genny towards the end of last summer, and they deserve an honorable mention as well as I don't recall there being a problem. They have the caveat of always having to be stored upright though, and don't exactly pocket/travel well so...

Good luck
