:) So nice to know I'm not alone in these *ahem* interesting times. :)
I laughed so hard when reading these. I can relate.

Me: "Would you like to help me catch the .... ummmmm .... oh dear.... you know!!!! .... that big brown bouncing thing in the big green thing!!"....
Grandson: "uhhh, you mean "horse" and "pasture" Grandma?"
Me: "Yes!!! Let's go!"
Grandson: "mmmm, okaaaay"

:laugh::lol: Aren't you glad kids are easy going, go with the flow types? Heaven knows I've had my son roll his eyes at me more than a few times over the years for my antics. We've had a LOT of ROFLOAO moments over things I have done. Thank goodness he has a great sense of humor!

Yeah... for those watching at home... this isn't an approved work-around... if it's working for him, fine... but that 4K ohms he read is at room temp... when it heats up that can drop dramatically.

I knew it was just a matter of time until it was suggested.

The result here is caused by opening up the wick hole... increasing flow.

There are better ways to increase flow, and it would be far better to develop those skills than to punt like this.

This work-around he has mentioned has been done by several folks in mesh/coil land, and it almost always results in a far less stable, and far less predictable set of results. Yes... it produces vapor... but there the majority of the owners of the Zenesis PV have been able to produce COPIOUS amounts of vapor without resorting to this short cut that almost always leads to harsh and unpredictable performance, in my own experience.

Once again... This is NOT an approved work-around, and you do it at your own risk if you choose to do so.

I second that.....if you wanna see how much these babies push out vapor, STOCK 325 wick and 4 wrap coil set-up, some night after 10pm, look for boidaes12 in VapeTV......I totally black out my webcam with out trying

You're right. Just burned out two wires in the last 15 minutes. They both burned between the top screw and the first wrap.

Looks like I'm going to have to leave my Zenesis alone for a while. Got to go to Argentina.

Then I'll practice some more with wicks and wraps.

OK Zen how about a bigger hole and bigger grommet? I wonder if I can slightly increase the inner diameter of the grommet with a warm punch? I know I unnecessarily tinker with stuff. : )

it really isnt neccessary....once you learn to tighten/roll your wicks and properly wrap a coil, you'll say to yourself, " ...why didn't i figure this out earlier!" .... it really is easy, and with a little practice, becomes 2nd nature. I'm vaping 50/50 to 100%vg and 325 wick, have been for over a week now in an unmodified zenesis standard... currently vaping backwoods brew malty toffee in it, chain vaping...

I've been celebrating World Vaping Day by doing a final test of the new switch button... I really really like it!

I believe I will be sending entire switches to people for replacement for a couple of reasons...

1: I changed the magnet configuration slightly which makes it so all Switches will have magnets in them that allow for adjust-ability. There will be one large magnet that stays in the switch cap, and there will be two thin ones that oppose it... They will be shipped setup for maximum force... If you take ONE of the thin magnets, flip it over and put it on the switch cap... you will have medium force... if you remove the thin one entirely, you will have minimum force. Three settings from one set of magnets!

2: I like the idea of sending you a complete tested unit.

In addition to the full switch, I will be sending a spacer washer that can shorten the throw of the switch if you prefer a more immediate action.

There will be a pre-paid return envelope to send back your old switch, intact. I MUST get the return parts back as quick as possible.

I will post a "how to" video on switch adjustment and maintenance this weekend. These switches will ship to ALL STANDARD owners automatically, and then to any MINI owners that choose to make the change. MOST Mini owners have been happy with their switches, but if you have had problems the switch is available to you. If you are not having problems with your mini switch, please do not make the change just for the sake of it... this has been a REALLY expensive correction, and if you're not having problems, you won't suddenly develop them.

Since I had it out anyway, I reamed it one size up with a precision drill bit. Warmed it in some boiling water and stuck it back in. The grommet that is.

Stuck a 325 in there, wrapped it around the blunt syringe filler needle, then tightened it up, and it went in a LOT easier.

Topped off my Prothol with some Boba's Bounty, which settled to the bottom. Looked so nice I didn't shake it up.

So now it's vaping real nice! Thanks for all the tips.

its not needed, heating it up with a torch to oxidize it will be a lot hotter than boiling...

That's true... but I still boil 'em.

My process...

Boil the entire 3'x3' sheet of mesh (that's right, I start with 9 square feet)

Roll the wicks

Clean them in an ultrasonic cleaner of water and Alcohol

Oxidize with Torch till glowing red twice

Season 3X which is:
  • Soak in VG
  • Ignite the VG soaked wicks

Pack in VG
