So I want to reflect on a few things here, and maybe vent just a little...
Lately I've been taking heat for some things that I feel are out of line, and I want to set the record straight.
1) Communications...
On a slow day, I get 250 PMs and 150-200 emails asking "How do I
buy"... or "Put me on the list"... Sometimes they say "I'm on the list".
People need to realize that I can't answer just shy of 500 PMs and emails per day.
I will rephrase that... NOBODY can answer that many communications per day.
When the lists were open, I responded to as many as I could, but I couldn't do all of them...
I told people in the
thread I couldn't... and I put a message on the FRONT PAGE OF THE SITE that I would not be answering PMS... when lists closed, I posted it here and on the site.
Well, the lists closed and the PMs and eMails kept pouring in. I responded to as many as I could... but that was probably 15% of the requests.
Personally, I feel I communicated pretty well what was happening.
Fast forward to today... At Vapor Wall, I was pretty viciously attacked about it. And for the last few days I've been under scrutiny in PMs about it.
I guess what I want to say is I'm sorry. I thought that by posting my wishes to not be PMed about lists because they were closed, along with the BOLD statement on the FRONT PAGE of the site would have been enough to clue people in that simply sending me an email requesting to be on a list that was already closed would have been enough to curtail them from doing it.
I'm not sure what more I could have done. But whatever I missed, I apologize for not doing it.
I know it is disappointing to think you were on a list for months only to find out you were not... But I didn't give you any reason to think you were on the list. In fact, I clearly told people when the lists were closing, in advance of them closing, and I closed them in public... it wasn't a secret that they were closed.
But people are angry... really really angry.
But let me ask you all something...
Do you know how many people tried to bribe me to ship their March PV in February?
Do you know how many times people tried to sneak onto the lists by sending me copies of PM's that never existed in the first place?
Do you know how many women offered me certain favors if I would bring a PV to VapeBash or the upcoming VapeStock... circumventing the list?
I have seen the lowest form of human behavior... over a PV.
People have BEGGED and PLEADED.
Then the whole serial number fiasco came up as well.
Now I'm going to tell some of you how I feel about you... and this applies to very few people... and most certainly not the regulars in this
thread.
I'll start by saying 95% of the vapers I have met are amongst the nicest, kindest, thoughtful people I have ever met. Every regular in this thread I consider to be a friend... a DEAR friend at that. I would bend over BACKWARDS for any one of you.
But 5% of the vapers I have encountered are VILE and DISGUSTING people that I have grown to despise. They are selfish, cruel and despicable.
These 5% represent the lowest level of society, and they behave in a manor that is so reprehensible that I wish I could block their IP addresses from my site, never to hear from them again.
They behave in a fashion that make animals appear to be civilized. They are Angry, Broken people.
And yet I feel compassion for them. I wish I could help them see that they are seething with anger, and that they should learn how to purge themselves of that poison. That they should open their eyes and have a hard look at how others see them.
When a comedian gets on stage and he thinks he's funny... it doesn't matter... if the audience doesn't think he's funny, he's not funny. His perception of his comedic value is meaningless if the audience doesn't feel the same way.
I think I communicated well... most people got it, understood it, and rolled with it. But it doesn't matter what I think!
A portion of the audience didn't see the bold notice on the front of the site. They didn't see my plea to NOT send me requests via PM or any other method. They didn't SEE that the lists were closed ON EVERY PRODUCT PAGE OF THE SITE.
To these folks, I have failed and they wish to punish me.
If it makes them feel better, I can take it, I guess.
But I would much rather say, have a good life... I hope you get your demons under control, and I wish you the very best. I have a lot of PVs to sell soon, but I can't be all things for all people... best case scenario, I'll try my best to get this right.
This is why I did away with "verbal commitment" lists and changed to open purchasing for the stock stuff, and pre-paid or deposit lists for the special stuff. This way there is no question... if ya paid your admission price, you get to see the show. If ya didn't, sorry, you missed out.
There's nothing more I can say or do that will help.
If you think you were on a list, and you have proof of it... You get what has been promised... if you didn't get on a list, the same outcome applies... I promised you nothing and nothing is what you shall receive.
I just want to make some great PVs and sell them to nice people that will appreciate them, without 5% of the people behaving like spoiled children.
Is that too much to ask?
