Thank you Kurt for the answer. I agree, I think it is fine, but just wanted some assurance. When I am through with this bottle I will be buying from RTS. Hopefully this incident will bring about better QC throughout all levels of the vaping industry.

You know I just said that same thing to a friend tonight. There really is a good side to everything (if we look hard enough) and maybe it's good that it happened now before anyone did get seriously injured or worse. Maybe this is the wake up call that has been needed :)

So do you guys still think that the culprit is just sloppy/incomplete mixing that created hot spots in the batch? Or what else could have caused it? And does he start with 100% nic or 22% (or 27)... I can't figure it out...

I think I heard somebody on one of those live stream interviews say that if the nic juice that was being diluted wasn't mixed enough or properly then yes there could be hot spots. He also said to shake your nic juice real, real, real good. Not his exact words but close enough. I don't remember what he said he started with but he contradicted himself about that.

Rather agree; but a lot of this liquid is still out there, quite possibly in unsuspecting hands, in storage ... it isn;t over yet ...

It's an outrageous gamble ...

Too late for the end-recipient. The lack of thorough mixing is one possible cause at root, or just lack of care; seems to be one of these two.

5% off is about the maximum one could reasonably expect. So, say, a 48mg liquid could reasonably be 46 -50mg. But these BE numbers are just like lottery numbers

Well, the real question is where to go from here, where I don't think there is any actual question.

If you supply juice, test your nicotine. Maybe Kurt can do a nice instruction manual on how to use a Ph meter to this end.
Establish lot numbers on diluted nicotine.
Publish the results of these tests.

The alternative is the FDA getting involved, and thankfully near as we can tell no one was harmed. But it should be a wake up call.

Is it true that he offered to sell the bad batch for 50% off? I read it somewhere, but I don't believe it.

Just to set the record straight.

A friend informed me that BE offered a 50% off sale - not of the bad batch - but in the closing statement in his first defending email blast...

Night, everyone! :)

Does "cover up" come to mind?

Cover up...adamant denial to delay liability.
As long as they deny deny deny, it's their word against others. For now.

This is going to hit them in the pocketbook hard. They are attempting to defray that as much as possible & as long as possible with NO care to the customer that they service, in hopes that it will just go away and ppl forget about it. JMO

I wonder if they carry liability insurance with selling a poisonous chemical to the public.

Well, another crop of samples should be starting to coming in soon. Evidently some do not even have lot numbers on them. Now some have CAS#s instead, whatever that is.

Past time for bed. However upset we are with BE, and we should be, at my end it is very clear that we are on the upswing now, and I mean that.

I will come up with a simple pH meter rough-calc of nic level soon. Vendors are flooding me with PMs. They know they will need to test regularly now or get left behind, and knowing that in this last 24 hours means today was indeed a good day.

Good night, all!

This is from their website. Anyone see an irony here?

"About Us

We are a manufacturer and distributor of high quality chemicals, safety products and lab equipment for the laboratory and manufacturing facility.

See what a difference Box Elder can make in the quality of your products and the safety of your environment."

What exactly does BE manufacture?

Erroneous dangerous product ??

G'night all. My sarcasm is singing out loud, time to put it to bed. ;)
