My first kit came in the mail on a Friday. I ran out of smokes that afternoon and tried to just vape. After less than an hour, I had a mini freak out and ran to the store and bought two last packs, lol. I stretched those over the next 4-5 days, while vaping as much as I could. After I ran out that time, I never went back.

Good luck! Whatever it takes to quit smoking and start vaping, it's worth it.

My story is like a lot of others, however, everyone's is different. I started vaping about a year ago and was a duel smoker/vaper. I had purchased an eGo kit with a Nova Mini tank using American Tobacco. Last week was my 61st birthday. I decided to give myself a special gift and went to my favorite vapor shop, The Vapor Hut and picked up an itaste VTR with a Nautilus Mini. I went home, charged the batteries and got serious with vaping. This happened over the weekend before my birthday. On my birthday, I smoked the last cigarette in my pack and started seriously vaping, so far I haven't picked up another pack. When I was picking up my VTR I was talking to the sales associate and he recommended I up the nicotine level in my juice. That really has helped me and was some of the best advice I had received. My recommendation is to get a buddy to help you quit, someone you are comfortable talking with. Or, at the very least use someone in this forum or the forum members in general to help you in your adventure. We are here to help so don't hesitate to ask.

Six weeks ago today, I bought an evod 2 kit, smoked my last cigarette on the way home and have not touched one since. The first couple of weeks I found myself looking for my lighter or ashtray 3 to 4 times a day. That has since passed, now I might get the odd craving but I just pick up my new MVP and satisfy the urge. I am very pleased with myself after 55 years of smoking.

I agree with Twgbonehead, having a quit date can be a pain. I started with the cig-a-likes and would have perhaps 1 or 2 cigarettes a week. With that said, I was never a PAD smoker usually had 3-4. I then purchased an Ego twist and several juices and that was pretty much it. I have to say pretty much because I have had a puff or two from a cigarette throughout the past year and a half. Usually by the second puff it tastes terrible and I put it out. Never thought I could do this but vaping does work. Lots of luck on your own journey, Ginger

I actually quit smoking cigarettes about 10 years ago and just recently took up vaping. A lot of people start vaping to quit cigarettes and that's great, but my problem, after I quit cigarettes, was finding something to do with my hands, the solution was sticking food in my mouth. When I reached 300 lbs, I knew something had to change. Vaping has really helped me cut way down on in between meal snacking, and I've already lost 5 pounds.

I switched from snuff to ecigarettes. I weaned myself off, slowly. I was at 1 1/2 cans of snuff when I had my first job to support the habit. I weaned myself off just a little at a time, and now vaping is all I do, except for a cigar at my shooting competitions every now and then. Patience, and a wanting to change is what helped. You can look at things online to help scare you into switching (what I did), do it for your family/ own reasons, or just to save money. Make sure you are at the right nicotine level. I was at 24 mg, still had cravings, switched to 36mg and didn't have any trouble at all.
Hope this helps at least a little,
Rick

I was a PAD smoker for more than 20yrs. I tried the cigalikes about 5 or 6 years ago when they first came out then tried the eGo stuff a few years ago. Just couldn't get the hit like analog. Then in January this year I got an iStick 20 and have only had one analog since last Tuesday. Wow did it taste bad. Other than that once my last analog was done I haven't touched them since and blame my buddy for that one. Got to blame someone. Although with as bad as it tasted I don't miss it at all. Plus since I never smoke analogs inside the house with all the cold weather I don't have to go outside and can stay inside and vape. Now the problem is just waiting for new things to show up in the mail to try.

I had been trying to quit for years. Patches and gum drove me crazy and I refused to go on meds where the side effects seemed worse than smoking. My sister kept hounding me to try vaping and the last time she came into town she talked me into heading to the local vape shop. Luckily the guys there were super knowledgeable and patient. We found a caramel tobacco juice I liked and we slapped a Nautilus mini on an Istick and I was good to go. Smoked one cigarette the next day and haven't looked back. The trick was getting the nic level right. I was a PAD guy and 18 mg. worked out just right. Now, two months later, I am vaping everything but tobacco cuz I can't stand the taste any more. My wife and kids were really supportive which helped a lot. Now that I'm totally obsessed, Im finding I know tons of folks who gave up cigs. You can too.

I smoked for nearly 50 years..I got to a point where I HAD to stop..Three years ago I got a starter kit of cigalikes, the day they came in the mail was my last day of stinkys..Hard to believe I stayed with those things for about three years..About four months ago I stopped by a vape shop and was helped with a "real" vapeing setup..My old abused lungs won't allow me hard lung hits so I kind of do a combo of mouth to lung and straight lung hits..I use isticks, aspire mini's and a kanger sub mini..I have to watch myself not to chain vape, causes me loss of flavor and dry throat, these things taste really good to me..I vape low nic level, lightly flavored slightly sweet tobacco juice...Bob

Wife got me an overpriced KR808-D1 ecig starter kit. I tried it, decided it might work and ordered more batteries, cartomizers and clearomizers, etc at a much better price. Struggled for a few weeks with bought juice and decided something artificial in them was killing my taste buds and mouth. I cannot tolerate artificial sweetners. I got juice making equipment and it is now great and tasty. I have been analog free for 2 months. On 50/50 DIY juice with no artificial ingredients flavoring.

this is after smoking 1+ packs of cigs a day for 30 plus years.

I bought a starter kit for short-term use when I wasn't going to be able to smoke for a week and it afterwards turned into a novelty. Five months later I wanted to quit smoking (once again) and decided to use my cigalikes to make the switch to vaping. It took me about a week to get down to one cigarette a day (my favorite morning smoke with my coffee) and then a few days later I stopped all together. I haven't relapsed and I don't ever see that happening as long as I can vape.

I used to smoke about 15 analogues a day. When I started vaping, I had 4 analogues and gradually reduced to 2 in a span of 1 week. After a week, I was completely off analogues. I have to say that it was difficult after that as there were constant urges of reverting back inclusive of the withdrawal symptoms but it gradually become tolerable in a week and now I'm glad that I manage to steer myself away from analogues.
