I got a 510 Holiday Kit from MadVapes and then I order the new 510 pt that can be used on it own and I don't get hardly any flavor out of these. This is the 1st time that I have used a drip typ pv and am use to the Kr808D, now they have flavor. I only have two atty's so was wonder how to clean them and maybe that is the problem with the flavor, at first they tasted horrible(new taste?) and now they just don't deliver any taste! What am I doing wrong?

They tasted horrible at first because the guts of a new atty are saturated with a primer solution designed to thwart corrosion—but as you noticed, it tastes horrible. FSUSA won't be offering a primer flavor anytime soon.

For routine maintenance, they can be cleaned in a 5-minute, 91% isopropyl alcohol bath, followed by blowing the thing out, then letting it dry overnight. There's a few videos on YouTube that go into more detail.

A dry burn can be used to resurrect old attys or if a really deep cleaning is needed. Just search ECF you'll find directions for it. I've noticed that even with dark juices from FSUSA I don't feel a need to dry burn anywhere near as often as I have with other brands for what that's worth. I just do a weekly swirl in 91% isopropyl alcohol for a couple a minutes then blow out and let dry. Pure Grain Alcohol (PGA) would be better since it doesn't contain poison (that's how regular alcohol is 'denatured') but even the isopropyl air dries quickly enough that I don't worry and don't have to hunt down PGA.

Use 91% Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Soak the atty in it between five to ten minutes...or longer. I've left them to soak all night before, cause I forgot about them and they were still O.K. Then let them air dry a bit, or do what I do and blow in to them to speed up the drying process. (Rubbing alcohol dries pretty quickly) And then use them again.

Don't use vodka, drink it instead.:)

Here is a helpful video.

I drip 10 drops of pure PG and blow it out the battery end. I never even remove the drip tip.

Just had to let you know that your avatar cracked me up! LOL

Oh, and thanks to the OP cause I rarely use attys but from time to time will to taste test juices. The responses here helped me too. :)

Yup, I use Cozzicon's isopropyl alcohol method as well! I clean my atties twice a week. It's kept all my atties trucking without problems. I even have a 2-month-old LR that's workin' like new. I've never lost an atty, and I've been using this cleaning method since the first time I tried atties about 5 months ago.

The only time I've had problems is when I neglected to clean an LR for 3 weeks. The performance really took a dive. I normally soak them in the alcohol for about 5-10 minutes, but I soaked that one for a couple hours, and it was back to vaping well.

I've even dry burned them a bit after they dried to see how clean they really get. The coil goes to orange almost immediately. This method works extremely well for me.

As others have said, you're probably vaping the primer fluid, and that stuff tastes none too nice. Blow out the atomizer into a paper towel before vaping, then after blowing it out well, put about 4 or 5 drops onto the atomizer, try it, and use one or two more if it needs it. Once you get it going, 2-3 drops will give you 10-15 drags.

I started with cartomizers as well. I found atomizers taste better, but the throat hit is less unless I'm using an LR. I am a big throat hit junkie, so I now only use LR's.

Some attys are just dripping with the primer and others are practically dry even from the same vendor and in the same shipment. For those that are on the heavy side quantify wise I dry vape the atty to start. A bunch of quick shallow puffs without a cartridge. The goal is to move air past the coil and get the primer burnt away without inhaling deep enough to actually taste the horrid stuff. Then a few drops of juice to re-wet the atty and I'm good to go.

I'm always trying every brand and style cartomizer out there and still keep going back to atomizers. Nothing comes close for me in terms of good consistent taste.
