Okay, lets take our attention away from Reos and direct it to bottom feeders in general.
There aren't many out there. You have Reos, VMod, and a few others that don't come to mind at the moment. Reos, of course, being the best :D and VMod being the cheapest. Oh, and the Aurora BFT, but does that really count? haha
It seems like a large amount of people like to drip, so why have manufacturers not jumped on this? Is it really that much of a niche market?

I'm also guessing that they are more complicated to manufacture than tube mods, the margins & the ROIs aren't as good....so yes...a niche market, IMO. Laurin has a great point...when I got my first Reo over 3 years ago, I wasn't excited. Not because it was bad, it was great, but it wasn't like a cigarette...I was still smoking & vaping at the time. The various box/juice mods we had before that were awful at worst, and problematic at best so I had no faith. Took me a few days to come around and adapt to the new form. I figure at this point (after over 3 years) if the BF market was going to take off, it would have by now.

Without making reference to any specific PV since this is Reo's forum I do have to say that the form factor is DEFINITELY not what holds it back. There are other mods that are very succesfull in the box mod FF.

I was talking with a popular ePipe maker the other day and he said that the reason the Chinese haven't had a lot of success selling ePipes is that they don't know how to market them. Maybe it's something along those lines?

I'm with OP. Anytime I start to get into some new device or RBA, I stop and think wait no on-demand juice directly to the atty?

I think people love their light sabers, the bigger the perceived better.
"What's this little box you speak of?"

I love the flavor of dripping so I've got the ultimate dripper REO. Dripping and driving is what brought me to Reoville.

I really cannot give up my squonker.
:vapor:

In other new I do have a box full of cartos and carto tanks I'd feel guilty giving away because I know how bad they suck compared to an Reomizer:blush:

yeah i remember dripping on my 510 while driving and actually became a pro at it back in 2010........then i got hooked on tanks since i can rebuild them to perform out of this world......i think the price if what sets people away......ive gotten a few mods before buying a REO just because of the price but no matter what MOD you get it still ends up being the same essentially......

i *think* i agree, but my old fart eyes can barely read that teeny tiny font, not to mention that bluish looking smear at the bottom...

I like your sig line.
We loggers have a similar creed but a bit more blunt--"Who's going home tonight?" :)

I'd say it is. Not only is it the form factor, but the aim of the person. I've met people who simply want to quit smoking with something small and mindlessly easy to work with such as a basic eGo + Vivi Nova/Protank setup and just don't care for chasing new toys or their sweet spot. I'm pretty sure I know what PV box mod you are talking about (it isn't a BF right? :D). Some that have asked me to make coils for them just refuse to learn how to regardless of how much I tell them how easy it is.

The e-cig market is extremely huge and there's a lot of variety. For some, having a lightsaber makes them happy. Others like the tube form but a smaller size and that's available as well. Others simply have not even looked at dripping because it is perceived as fiddly and not convenient. Without looking into dripping you will most likely not get to bottom feeders. All in all, too many variables. :p

Just a suggestion (and probably one that's gonna draw flames) but y'all might want to address the question the OP asked instead of just making this another 'We love our Reos' thread. Yes, they're great mods, but if you use this as a brainstorm on why bottom feeders aren't more popular you might come up with something that'll help Rob sell more mods.

I'm gonna step back and stop posting now to avoid causing any drama. Just a suggestion, please take it in the spirit it was given.

I'm the culprit of that....sorry....

but like i stated i truly believe the price and size is what draws people away....like i said earlier i have bought a lot of mods and every time i go to buy a new one i go to the REO site and sit there and debate with myself.....it was always the size and price......

think about a working mans world....for someone who works outside a lot and doesn't sit in an office the REO or something similar can be a mess and get dirty or even worse break......so these cheaper "sticks" are the way because they are smaller and cheaper....

there has to be a way to bring down the prices on these things i would think.

We lost track of the op's original question while we were fondling our REO's. Sorry.
