I bought a SafeCig kit after seeing a friend with one and trying his. When it came in, I put down tobacco cigs and used SafeCig full time. After 5 days, I failed.
I decided to use the SafeCigs in addition to tobacco cigs. For 6 months I used the SafeCigs in the house, in bed, out where I can't smoke, etc....and would puff an analog outside when I had a chance. I eventually switched to V2, and was using the eCig more and more. I went from a PAD tobacco smoker, to buying a pack every 3 to 4 days. Then one day (June 15, 2012), without any thought or planning or anticipation, I simply didn't go buy more tobacco cigs.
Over the next month (using V2 Reds) I vaped pretty heavily. I would get cravings as the eCigs weren't quite the same as a tobacco cig, but close....sorta like the difference between Coke and Diet Coke. When a craving would hit, I'd just vape a bit more at the moment and the craving would ease. This went on for a couple months, with the cravings becoming lesser in intensity and fewer between.
Now, just 5 days shy of the 9 month mark, I no longer get any cravings for analog smokes. People that smoke them smell really bad! The smoke from them is starting to smell bad as well. I switched from the V2 Reds to an eGo-U, 900maH battery and 1.8 CE4 clearomizer. Massive upgrade in quality of the experience! Refills are small bottles of juice instead of $60 for cartomizers. Plus, various flavors are available in an incredible assortment. (although I prefer tobacco flavors, Sweet Virginia to be specific)
My suggestion: Ease into it. Whatever vaping solution you choose, as long as it's right for you and you like it, is just fine. Use both eCigs and analogs together and gradually wean yourself off......if you're having trouble of course, otherwise go for it full throttle. Good luck, you CAN make it!
