how long after starting vaping did you stop smoking analogs?

After numerous attempts at quitting I stopped same day. I tried several drug store disposables and was never happy with them. Finally ordered a starter kit and some Johnson Creek juice that I liked. Never looked back from that day.

I've because of the exposure to my pv I have 4 friends, all multi decade smokers that have dropped the cigs. Have to admit though that
I do miss a cigar on the golf course from time to time.

For me within 1-2 days of vaping 18mg e-liquid I found myself topped up on Nic to the point that I didn't even crave or want a cig. I was around a pack a day smoker..As a matter of fact since I started vaping I don't even really care to have a few pints much anymore as I used too. Maybe an association that is broken now? don't know but both my lungs and my belly are better with vaping!

I was a pack and a half a day smoker for over 20 years. I tried quitting on several occasions, none were successful - until I decided to replace smoking with vaping. I never looked back, although I'll admit that I do smoke a cig or two now and again when I'm drinking and hanging out with smokers. But moving from smoking to vaping was really easy and seamless for me. So I guess the answer to your question is immediately, unless you count the occasional cig.

I bought my ego on 9 February of this year. Since then I've had maybe 1 complete bowl of tobacco after being a pipe smoker for 15 years and a cigarette smoker for 5 years before that. Essentially I gave up smoking the day I bought the ego, but I've had a couple of half-bowls the first two weeks or so when I've had a particularly nasty craving for the tobacco. The last "bowl" I had (really it wasn't even that-I packed half a bowl and maybe took too draws off it before dumping it) was two weeks ago, last Friday.

Fortunately I found smoking to be immediately unpleasant after having the option to have basically any flavor that I wanted. (I'm particularly attracted to fruity and desserty types of flavors--tobacco simply can't offer that, ever.) That in and of itself is probably what made it possible for me to actually quit this time (after trying about half a dozen times over the years using everything else [except Chantix--I have homicidal tendencies without that thanks).

The funny thing with me is that what it really took for me was a state of mind change. Some people take up vaping to quit smoking--I didn't. I took up vaping and quitting smoking just sort of happened on its own. I think part of the reason for that is because "quitting smoking" using the so-called "proven methods" (which have a 95% failure rate) is unpleasant and therefore "quitting" is associated with unpleasantness.

5 days. I had half a pack left and didn't want to throw it away... BUT I went from PAD to 1-4 a day. 10 analogs lasting me 10 days is unheard of... ^^ I had some cigarette cravings and I still LOVE the smell of cigarette smoke when walking around town but I spent so much money on my pv, juices, etc that I stayed away from any place that sold cigarettes.

I got my eGo-c, CE-5, and juice on March 2nd of this year. Sunday, March 3rd, I had a smoke with my morning coffee, and haven't touched them since. I still have 6 unopened packs, and 1 open (about 3/4) pack sitting on my bookshelf, plus one opened pack that I didn't very much care for, in the freezer. Since then, I haven't smoked over 400 stinky-sticks. My coffee cup goes where my ashtray used to sit, and my eGo's are sitting here in front of me. I alternate between coffee flavour and mixed tobacco blend (until next week when my Vision Twist and 10-pack of flavours get here). I think in April, I'll treat myself to a LavaTube (Can't get a ProVari in China).

Oh, and the better half? She doesn't care what I buy (so far), as long as I don't smell like an ashtray.

My first e cig was Years ago when they first started selling em in liquor stores and I really like the idea just not the effect. When I bought my ego on 11/24/12 I was instantly in love. I smoked a few cigs after. My last analog was on 12/10/12. Just about 3 months now and a good chunk of change later and still finding all kinds of great stuff to vape!

This is a properly inspirational thread, and I hope that lots of people who are thinking about giving up ciggies get to see it. I'm going to send the link to a few people I know too.

My experience was not borne out of wanted to quit AT ALL. I went into my local shop (small corner shop) and I noticed a little sign in the window. I had heard of e-cigs from seeing some billboard advertisements, and from the people accosting smokers at London Euston Station. I think the e-cig was £7 (for a disposable) and a packet of cigs is about £7.50 for 20 here in the Uk (depending on the brand). I just thought 'why not?'

I was amazed. I didn't know they actually produced 'smoke' and that the end lit up! I did buy another packet of 10 after that, but I struggled to finish them, because I found I much preferred the e-cig. All in, I think I quit within about 3 days. I have had one since then, 'just to see', but it was hideous, and I'm not going back.

My quit date was 28th May 2012, so I have now been quit for over 9 months. Since then I have upgraded from my disposable to an Innokin 'All in One' Charger cig-a-like pack, then to an Ego with a vivi nova tank, then to an Ego Twist, and about a week ago I took delivery of my VAMO. (I definitely wouldn't want to go back to cig-a-likes now). It sounds like a lot of expense, I know, and it is. But I have spent just over £600 in vaping supplies, and not smoked over £1400 of cigarettes. Bargain! And this was based upon the 14 a day I was smoking when I quit, not the 20-25 a day I would have crept back up to after a while.

I enjoy vaping, every bit as much as the enjoyment I used to get out of smoking. But :
1. it's cheaper
2. I don't smell so bad
3. I don't always have to go outside
4. No more dirty ashtrays to clean up (or ... butts to pick out of the hedge)
5. I don't snore
6. I sleep better
7. I don't wake up with a cough
8. I am no longer inhaling a cocktail of carcinogenic chemicals
9. I can feel proud of myself
10. I have a shiny new VAMO to play with.

:)

PS - Prior to starting vaping, I had been a smoker for 31 years!!!

There are so many different paths we take to get to vaping, it's quite fascinating I think. It's my wish that all smokers 100% switch, but a little more than that, I hope everyone finds what they are happy with, even if it's 50% vaping, or any other percentage.

I was one who ordered a kit after reading here for a couple of days, and thought, eh, why not give it a go? I received my kit while at lunch break at work on 10 August 2011. I excitedly opened it up, and figured it all out (GoGo kit, 2 batts, pre-filled cartos), and started vaping. I haven't had a combustible cigarette since. There were a few times I craved one, but never gave in, as the smell was starting to bother me. No probs now though, and am so happy I found vaping!

Keep up the stories guys, these are great! :)
