I bought my Npro in June 09. I had already quit smoking, but was on the verge of a relapse so I bought the e-cig instead of a pack analogs. I vaped for a month, then the Npro was pulled from the shelves from the Meijer store and I didn't know about e-juice...so, it was back to analogs.
So this month I found out about the e-juice, ordered a bottle and when it arrived on the 15th I started vaping again and haven't had an analog since (well, except for lighting one for my hubby, and that almost made me vomit). Now I am the proud owner of a MV Sidesho and have retired my Npro for emergency use only.
The only thing that will ever make me go back to analogs now is FDA communism....Let's hope that never happens. (*grumble GD FDA Nazi's)

I think I started in Febuary of 09,
THey really help my cut down significantly.
I have gone from 3 packs a day to around half a pack.
OF course, I vaporize my tobacco too at home now.
ANd I go back and forth when out, from my ecig mod, to real rolled tobacco.

Either way, they have helped tremendously.
Im just honestly not trying to quit right now.
Was just looking for the safer, cheaper way.

I started in May and quit smoking regular cigarettes immediately, even though I didn't go into it expecting to quit smoking. I've been able to lower my nicotine intake over time without losing any enjoyment, and would be perfectly happy vaping forever.

A lot of the "old timers" (9-18 months+) still vape but don't post here anymore, so I'm guessing the poll results are going to be a bit off, unfortunately.

Hi, I've been analog-free since the 15th September 2009.

I started with the NPro (still working well and a good windproof design when required) but for vaping in public I prefer the smaller Intellicig Evo or the DSE-084 (even more realistic, but the Evo feels more resilient and has a longer vapetime). At home I mainly use a Titan 501 with passthrough for increased performance.

I did revisit cigarettes when I first started vaping but once I found an acceptable alternative taste I was able to switch over. TW Menthol provided the key, I had rarely ever smoked a menthol cigarette but for me it was an easier switch than trying to replicate the previous analog taste I was used to. I now prefer the non-tobacco flavours unless I'm having a beer.

It's unreal isn't it? Got my kit around the 7th of this month (October), after smoking for around 25 years I smoked my last cig within 48 hours of recieving said kit...

.
Yes, unreal would be a good way to describe it. This product has changed my life profoundly and I am very greatful.

I am curious as to how many people have been able to keep from going back to analogs and how long they stay smoke free. For me the hard part is not quitting heck Ive done that 100s of times8-o
I am curious why anyone would ever go back once they have their electronic cigarette of choice, their juice of choice, and have everything working they way they want.

I would not consider going back, ever.
Cigarettes suck compared to this.

I used to quit every spring and by august I was back smoking. The whole time when I smelled a cig I wanted one. Now they don't even smell good. I don't even what one. for the first time!

I could answer that but probably shouldn't. There is a thread on here that would answer that question real well. I wish I didn't read the thread but it does make me wonder if people who quit using ecig are able to stay off the analogs. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/nicotine/44958-so-we-getting-we-not-nicotine.html read at your own risk.

I couldn't help but to read that thread, however, even barring the fact that maybe we aren't getting the nic from e-smoking that we did from analogs, I have smoked for 10 years, at one time I was 2 packs a day, in the last 3 years I cut down to 1 pack a day.

When my kids were born, one 6 years ago and the other 4 years ago, and it became known they had asthma, I really decidied I had to quit smoking, I tried the patches, the gum, chantix, the inhaler, and EVEN hypnotism! nothing worked!

Then along comes the e-cig, and as soon as I got my 510 a little over a week ago, I was analog free within 12 hours, yes, nic or not, it works, I enjoy it, it is safe, and I dont even like the idea of smoking an analog now, it makes me queasy!

What people need to keep in mind with regard to that thread is that, for an awful lot of people, it doesn't really matter: even if e-cigs deliver quite a bit less nicotine than analogs do many(most?) people still transition to e-cigs very easily or with moderate effort -- the people who generally describe themselves as having "quit by accident" or "quit without really trying".

Some, of course, have a much more difficult time and either fail to transition fully or give up vaping entirely. For these people nicotine intake may be part of the issue as well as other factors. Snus seems to help a lot of people in this situation, so it's not entirely bad news for them either.

Personally, I've been smoke free for just over 10 months and nicotine free for about 3 weeks. If I haven't reverted to smoking by this point I can't really see it happening in the future.

I first started vaping in early Oct. of this year..I haven't quit analogs totally but have cut my consuption from 40+ per day to an average of 4 per day..That's a huge decrease by anyone's standards..I am at a point where analogs seem very nasty to me when I do burn one but I fall back to them sometimes because of the simplicity of firing one up I suppose..I have battery issues also as it seems I am charging batts all day long for my 901's..I have a 510 passthrough on order and imagine that will help me while I am on the computer and vaping hard..I can say this though, vaping 24-26mg juice seems to be where I am at the time with my need and I believe the people who can't get the satisfaction they need are probably vaping juice that is too weak for them..I'm certainly no expert but my theory is to have good, reliable equipment and strong enough juice in a flavor that satisfies you so as to kill the craving..Nothing is more frustrating than to pick up the ecig and have it wimp out on you when you are really needing it to perform.

I've talked to people that tell me they quit smoking for 10 years and never thought about a cigarette after getting thought the first two weeks. Then I've talked to people that tell me they quit 10 to 20 years and crave it every day. I'm sure I'm the later. I've smoked for 30 years. I quit when I was 42 for 6 months. After the second month I tried using nicatrol inhalers to get by cause I was still craving. eventually I started again. Now at 47 I started vaping and I can say this will take.

For the last 15 years I rolled my own cigs, bugler tobacco, and I would oven dry it so it would give me a better throat hit, wanted to feel it going down.

Anyway, I started vaping Oct. 2 and don't have any craving for a cig. I do get up from my computer while working to go outside for a smoke then remember, Oh, that's right, I don't smoke, cool. It wasn't the cig I was getting up for, it was the habit of taking a break from the computers about once an hour. Now I just vap about 2 puffs every 20 minutes and it works great, no craving for smoke at all.
