Not a soul--at least not so far as I know. There's a possibility, of course, that someone vaping an M402 or some other cigarette-clone could have flown below my radar.

I've made a point, when vaping in the wild, to do so with a large battery mod that can't be mistaken for anything else in hopes of smoking out any vapers in my midst. No luck.

Me too. I haven't seen any vapers here in Richmond, VA (I do know one exist here via this forum), but of course, I may have missed someone if they were vaping something that looked like a cig. I also use a big mod (The Bolt with extension to fit an 18650 batt) to maybe meet someone else who vapes, but that is a no go so far. The only people I know personally who vape are my brother and my Dad, who I converted recently.

There is a Vapor's Lounge in Southside, but I haven't checked it out yet on account of I am not familiar with the Southside of Richmond to well. I would love to meet other vapors just so I don't feel so alone! :(

lol!!! Who resurrected this old thread? I have been vaping on and off for about 3.5 years and have not encountered a single soul. Maybe someone can design/make some kind of pin that vapors can wear, so we can identify each other out in the wild :D.

I was thinking the same thing, too! Maybe, we need to come up with a hand signal so that when we spot someone vaping, we'll know they're vapers and not just pervs! haha!

My neighbor introduced me to vaping. She had a drug store e-cig, and it only lasted about a week and a half for her and she went back to smoking. I tried showing her some other options once I learned more, but she wasn't interested.

Here in Ohio, I haven't met another vaper. I've run into a few who have tried it and didn't like it (rip off brands). I did run into another vaper in Alabama, but I was standing outside a vaping store, and she was going in to buy something, so not really a random encounter.

I was vaping away on my provari with a tank at a red light just a few days ago, and. Noticed the older gentleman next to me was about popping his eyes out staring at me. So I rolled down the window and told him it was an electronic cigarette, not something else. We had a quick conversation until the light turned red. He seemed intrigued. LOL.

I explain it to people whenever they seem interested, and note varying levels of interest.

In just shy of 7 months, the only vapers I have seen are those I converted, that was till last friday when the copier repair man came, I didn't hear him come into my office where I openly vape so expected questions, the only one offered was, "Is it ok if I vape here too?"
Of course I happily agreed and it was nice to actually chat to another vaper in the real world. I was the first other person he had met in his 1yr+ of vaping.

I was driving home today from work and stopped at a light next to this white Honda Civic. Inside the car was a lady, most likely about 50, and she lifted her arm to put a nice little box mod up to her lips and took a huge vape. I wanted to roll my window down and say hi, but the light turned before I could make a decision. I really wanted to know what she was vaping. Looked like a brown 2xAA box mod, maybe made of wood. Never seen anything that small, in person, for a box mod. The vapor was amazing too!

If you are on ECF, and were on Okeechobee Blvd in WPB today about 5pm, let me know what type of PV that was:)

P.S. Sorry if I have the age incorrect, I am a really poor judgement of age.

I've only seen one person vaping out in the wild. I was leaving class at my community college and some guy took a drag off a cigarette look-alike, put it in his pocket, and walk in. I wanted to stop and say something as I had my reo on me, but didn't. I've converted a half dozen of my friends to vaping though, and I see them on a regular basis so I have someone besides ECF'ers to geek out with over new juice, etc.

I've actually seen a few people out & about in the Houston area. And I'm not even counting the 15 people or so that were at the Houston vape meet a few months ago. :) I mostly notice them when I'm in the car driving & pull up next to a vaper at a stop light. It's like old friends who've never met crossing paths, lol.

Bout a month ago I was at work (office of a senior apartment complex) and in comes a young man who apparently worked for the county health dept. He had the usual (about every six months) complaint that tenants were smoking outside the doors, employees were smoking and the smell was drifting up to peoples balconies, yada yada. I told him the tenants may have been doing this after hours but not while staff was here and that employees have a smoking area well away from the building. "I don't smoke" I told him, "I quit about a year ago using an e-cigarette". He proceeds to tell me he (the 'smoking police') had been trying to quit and had tried an ecig but it didn't work too well. I sent him on his way with info about ECF...hope he checked it out! That's the closest I've gotten to another vaper.

I just bought my first kit, well my husband did. I had tried just a couple of disposable ones in the last month. I wanted one that had prefilled cartomizers since I am so new to this. I purposely had him order green glowing tips so there would be no question if it were a real cig. Still, I am concerned about smoking in malls, restaurants, etc. cause I am afraid it will cause a rucus. Any suggestions or experiences?

I think people in NC hide them. LOL! I've noticed... people I've known for years are pulling these things out of everywhere with a "Oh, yeah! I've had this for two years now!" How come I never knew you vaped?!

mommywoman: I tend to be discreet inside. NC has an indoor smoking ban, and I get a lot of weird looks on the street. Now, I've been real discreet and taken a puff in isles in Target or the grocery store that no one else was in. But I don't tend to openly vape indoors, although I also don't tend to put my PV in my shirt in these places, either. It's out there all the time. Now when I'm outside I vape freely, weird looks or not. I figure if you are curious... ask. My tips don't glow at all, my batteries are colored (pink and green, respectively), and this thing is larger than most people have seen (had a woman at my job ask what it was today, I told her, and she was astounded because she's never seen one like it before... it's just an eGo-T. LOL!).

I think the average person is just plan scared of trying to be outside the box, so to speak. They're afraid to be a rebel or something like that. Ignorance can be stupid I guess. Then they are taking advice from all the "Professional Protesters" that don't know their ... from a hole in the ground and are against everything. Me, I don't give a XXXX what anyone thinks. It's my choice and if you don't agree....XXX off!
