How many packs or cartons did you buy at a time?

Even when I got to just over one PAD, sometimes, I still only bought two at a time, unless the gas station near my house happened to have a carton of the special priced ones, still (they sold out really fast). Mine were usually 2/$7.01 on sale, which was cheaper than buying a regular carton (saved about $7 by not buying the carton, maybe more). We bought cartons a few times in the years before the "special prices," though.

A carton every five days when the previous carton was down to two or three packages. Used to buy the premium stuff at CAD $108 per carton. When they stopped making Rothmans Reserve (my brand) I switched to the econo brand Canadian Classic Silver at CAD $87 a carton. After about a year of 2 PAD of the bargain brand, I was hacking like mad in the mornings and starting to develop a wheeze (40 years of smoking probably didn't help either).

In a way that helped me switch to vaping. I had no intention of quitting, just wanted to cut down a bit. After three days of vaping, didn't even want a cigarette. It was just like switching brands.

Whoa........$70 a carton???? Yikes!!!!!

I remember saying that when cigs got to be $20 a carton, would stop.......... Didn't we all make that $$$ promise to ourselves???

$70 would be a bargain in NY. At over $10 a pack now I would be broke now if it wasn't for the indian reservation cigs. I made those $$$ promises to myself too. Funny how the resolve quickly fades when that time comes tho. Wish I'd given vaping another try a lot sooner.

Edit: Forgot to respond to the OP. When I bought em I'd usually get three cartons at a time from the reservation. Having the art of procrastination down pat, I'd most likely be smoking my last few cigs on the way there. :?:

I smoked a little over a carton a week on average, so I'd try to buy two or three cartons worth at a time. But my brand is a little hard to come by around here, so I'd often have to go to two or three (or more) stores to make that happen.

That's how I wound up smoking a mix of three different strengths of cigarette. I'd take what I could get!

Anyone ever wonder if we hadn't smoked, but vaped all our lives, would we be all pink and healthy and never short of breath like we were when we smoked? Vaping is probably worse for us than not using nicotine at all, but I'm thinking that vaping would have affected our health much less than sucking smoke out of a paper tube.

When I look at my sig banner I wonder how many I did smoke in the 40 some odd years I smoked.

There are still $35 deals in the convenience store for less popular brands. Doral is probably the best name brand sold cheap. There are foreign cigarettes still cheaper than that, but it's like smoking paper in a paper tube.

I can't imagine paying $200 a carton. That's a nice new luxury car payment each month, easily.

I just ordered 200ml of Dekang juice for $43. It will last me 40 to 50 days. Cigs would have cost me about 4 times that amount and I smoked Doral ultra lights, the cheap ones.

Six cartons, once a month. Was halfway through the third carton when I discovered ecigs and made the switch. Gave the opened third carton to an acquaintance (who was afraid to try ecigs and still is). The remaining 3 cartons are still in the freezer. A possible overuse of the backup principle, but... just in case...

Four years ago I was buying cartons about every eight days. I switched to roll your own when they started the "fire safe" chemicals on the sticks, made them taste funny. Rolled my own at a cost of $85 per month. I told my wife I was killing myself at a discount lol. 69 days ago I discovered ecigs, I never paid any attention to them prior. So now just spending on e-stuff. I have not smoked since the first day. woohoo

If you really want to know you can mess around with the sig banner code and find out.
