Well in Hawaii a pack cost about $8. Used to smoke 2 packs a day which adds up to $448 a month if I smoked analogs. Now that being said vape about 10 mls a week and depending where you get your juice from (average $7 for 10ml bottle)
that's $28 a month. Average carton @ Costco is $85 that would be $340 a month. So between $340-448 vs $28- 40 a month, do the math. Even if you buy a new mod or 2 @ full price (less if you use the classifieds) with carts ($7.50 ) or attys ($8 for a premium 306) you still will be saving money. Especially down the line, you'll be saving on your health therefore less doctor bills. Plus vaping tastes a lot better and you don't offend others with second hand smoke.

No, I haven't saved a lot, but I know I saved my LIFE and that to me is priceless...and with two kids...
I do want to be around for them...and hopefully one day...my Grandchildren, oh gosh...the word 'Grandchildren.'
The first of the year...I'm planning to go lower on my nicotine strength, which I've already started on...so I can't complain :)

4 months this week without an analog,pretty amazing.Longest I haven't "smoked" in 20+years.

20 years@1-1.5 packs/day (Newport/cheap rez Seneca menthol).
Haven't found a good menthol juice though.

Ive spent about $300-400 trying different stuff/vendors to find what suits me.

I'm pretty happy now,at about at about 2 cartos and 10-15 ml juice weekly on a diy vv mod box.

I figure ill be breaking even/start saving $$ around Jan-Feb '12

Been lurking around this board for awhile I don't know where id be without it,invaluable info at ECF.

What DO you do with all stuff you don't like???

I've spent quite a fair bit on ecig, probably around or near $1k already over 3mths. Still lesser tho if spent on analogs from where i live (I'm a heavy smoker, 2 packs or more a day).

I'm the experimental type, so i bought many different types of liquids, batteries, atomizer and such. You don't have to spend so much if you've settled down with a preferred PV model and setup. Just need to buy the liquids mostly.

Used to smoke 1 pack/day, kept it simple (the whole point was to save $). and got 2 batteries to start (3rd came later) wall charger, USB charger, carry case and 30 carts (I use Kr808D style only). I've been vaping for 3 months and have saved about $80 total after initial investment (bought more carts down the road). I definitely vape more than I smoke, but I can go through 2-3 carts a day and still save over regular cigs.

sell in the classifieds here or you can PIF them to someone, or there is a pay it forward PIF where you can take something but then have to offer something up. I think they are going to be doing a collection for military around Christmas. PIF forum is under social groups

I definitely have NOT saved money, yet. Although I haven't needed to make any new purchases in the past three months. If I don't buy another thing it will be March 15th, 2012 before I break even. I'm about ready to buy some new atomizers though, and that will set the break even day back a few weeks.

I have been keeping to-the-cent records on a spreadsheet since day one ... 644 days ago.

But, it does not matter. Saving money simply was not a factor in my kicking the cigarettes to the curb. The fact that I will eventually break even means I'm spending slightly less after my initial spending frenzy though. It wouldn't matter to me if there was no break even. Medical expenses down the road, quality of life in my remaining years, the ability to breathe and taste food today ... priceless.

I saved money from the beginning... I did a lot of research online first, found a store near me that specializes in ecigs and went down for a visit. They spent over an hour with me asking me questions and answering my questions. I walked out of there with everything I needed for the first few weeks for around $100. I spend about $50 a week on analogs, so after the first two weeks I am making money so to speak. I highly recommend anyone who has a store near them to go in and speak with someone who is knowledgable first before buying and be VERY honest with them about things like how much you smoke, what you are looking to get out of vaping, try different flavors, etc. If you simply do not have this available, do your research, friend people and ask questions before buying. Don't just jump up and buy that $5 Barbie, because you will need all of the accessories and it probably won't be what you are wanting out of the experience!

Had my last analog August 14th today is my 2 month... anniversary ? lol
Here in Seattle they are bout 8 bucks a pack, and I bought 2 packs at the 7-11 (best 2 pack deal around here) every day religiously.. Not only do I save that $$ but all the little odds and ends that 7-11 has laying around... from a Pepsi to a hot dog ice cream, etc.. all that would add up too.. Usually close to 20 bucks.

Thats 1200.00 already, I'm maybe 700-900 in vaping.. Too many reciepts to add up :) I feel better... and look forward to the future.
And I actually have not been in a 7-11 since I quit. Good luck all.. Its worth it !!!

I have saved about half what my sig says. I have kept it pretty simple, but buying for 2 hasn't helped. Started with a couple ego-t's and now have been using a diy box mod for the last few months with carto's. So for the last 2 or 3 months pretty much just diy juices and the occasional carto's.

Bought my kissbox in South Korea almost 2 years ago. Initial cost was about 200 bucks for juice, extra dry carts and the kit. I just spend 60 bucks on more juice and a new switch but have evidentally been ripped off by a supplier (another thread, another story). Anybody that is reasonable and really wants to quit analogs cannot begin to compare the costs. The vaping costs compared to the analog costs are not comparable.

Didn't save a penny in my first year of vaping and thats just fine with me as saving money wasn't why I switched to vaping. Now in my second year of vaping I've given myself a budget for the year and I am determined to stick to it. If I'm successful in sticking to that budget I will spend less then half of what I would spend if I was still smoking.

Hey all new here but will share my 2, ok maybe 1 cent. I am still on my initial ecig and if I just stayed with that I am saving money after my initial investment for gear. However like many of you this has become a lifestyle, hobby and a journey all rolled into one.
I like gadgets so as I can afford it this will be my own personal journey.

After reading multiple threads, watching various you-tube.
reviews as of now this is MHO..

Volt - Smokelessimage.com. Best beginners ecig
Elite 808- Cigeasy.com. . Next step up that gives you longer batt life and stronger vape.
Go-go - Gogousa.com. Great mod. Batt life, cart life and capacity, and vape experience, cost and simplicity..
Provari - Provape.com. Variable voltage, more expensive, rock solid quality and service..
Go for it! You will succeed! I've been vaping on a v2 ecig for over a month and have no desire for analogs..
I have a lot of irons in the fire (moving business), but as soon as that is accomplished, that will become my vaping expedition..
As I aquire and try each out I will let you know how it goes.

One last thing, I have introduced 2 people to ecigs and what a great feeling it is!
Thanx to ECF and all of you for the support.
