How many people do not last

I took my ego to work today. Several people commented on it, but no negative comments. I tell people it was my portable hookah. One person is wanting to buy one for herself. The comment I did get from several people was that they know many people that have tried the e-cigs and did not last, or that they had one and stopped using it. One person knew all about my twist and was explaining it to someone as she was puffing on an analog.

So the question I have is how many people do you know that stop using e-cigs and what reasons did they give?

Only one here, a cousin of mine. Um, well, he kind of went off his meds for his bipolar condition around that time, so I'm sure that was connected. He's not the kind to stick with or finish anything, either, which is a consideration.

I'm careful to advise anybody that this DOES take some will-power, just fractional amounts compared to quitting smoking, for at least some people. I was motivated, I managed fine, I've failed using every other method.

I started off on the ones from a gas station, I managed that for five or six months and went back to cigs....but as Keithhe mentioned, having the equipment and ejuice makes all the difference. I have tried everything else to quit, so I went to an ecig lounge where I was able to try some different things (ego's) and ejuice....got started again and I am loving it now that i have a batt that lasts and juice that doesn't taste like lighter fluid.... now I am really pumped up about it....feel the benefits of not smoking....have ordered my provari mini and I am really staying excited! I hope to not relapse....the smoke, the smell the time consuming addiction comes right back at you if you let it.

I tried e-cigs and never really felt they replaced the analog. I think my biggest problem was starting with the "gas-station" disposables and then went to vapor 4 life automatics. These never really did anything for me. Although they alleviated the craving; it was never gone. So i went back to the old habit for another year. Then I decided to give it another go and got the Ego-C setup. I did not care for the small reservoir on their cartridges. Not to be deterred I gave the vivi nova and kanger T3 a shot. This was better but still lacking something. I purchased a Vision Spinner battery and was finally able to get to a point where I did not feel like I needed the analog. Once I was sure I was not going back to the analogs I decided to purchase my Provari. Now the only thing I need is a good RBA. Got my eye on a few that are hard to come by.

Unfortunately I think many people may not last for the same reasons I initially went back. I imagine the investment required to get a setup that works for an individual is a big deterrent. If someone buys a disposable and does not like the experience it could be difficult for them to justify spending any more on a different "rig".

I believe the biggest problem is that quitters aren't getting enough Nic.

The trend is towards sub 20mg. I was in a smokers lounge and they were freaked that I was vaping around 36mg-40mg liquid.
By the way Disclaimer: Smoke the lowest level that satisfies you and if you go above the 20s do it cautiously.

Cigarette smokers are used to higher levels of nic and sub 20 for many (not all) pack a day smokers is like giving a beer a day to a alcoholic.

Smokers lounge like in an airport, or one set up just for vaping?

I'm the only person I know that has successfully quit smoking with e-cigs. All my friends that were using them started smoking again for stupid reasons. I think being on the board definitely helps. None of them posted on here.

I think the support here is a huge factor. It keeps you motivated and you have people to turn to if you have an issue. When boredom sets in, you just look for new stuff to buy. :)

Me. lol The first time was with the little doohickies filled with stuffing that don't last long enough. Plus it was awhile ago and the flavors weren't that nice. A nice long lasting battery (or 2 or 3) with enough juice to last me for hours and I'm good this time.

You said it brotha!

Same deal. Bought one of those old 401's w an auto battery. It helped at first, but just didn't cut it, and I had 36mg juice at the time!
These new systems are worlds apart... They more accurately replicate the feeling of a cig.

When I started properly using ecigs 6 months ago, my aim was to gradually cut down on nicotine eventually to nil. I started on 24mg and worked my way down to 6mg, but it wasn't the same. 12-18mg is about the level I am happy with now, and a level I will stick to and stay off normal cigs with.

Edited to add, the one I started with was a 501 with carts, using a tank with a big battery is so much better.

I must be odd. I just ordered my first good rig, but I've been using using a V2 e-cig and loving it for a year. It's been extremely frustrating; horrible battery life that completely dies in a few months, not much vapor, messy cheap cartos, etc. But when I had a fully charged battery and a newish carto, I didn't want anything to do with a nasty newspaper-tasting, taste-and-smell-and-breath-killing cigarette. I already know that when my Provari arrives tomorrow I won't smoke another cigarette again, and I have 0 willpower.

EDIT: Anyone want half a pack of Marlboro lights? My V2 is almost charged again.

... Sorry, "Golds"
