Best way to bring someone over to vaping is to let them decide it's right. Don't push it on them, just show them all the benefits over tobacco and let it seem like it's their idea.

You're prob. exactly right Jackal, but be that as it may, I have a long time buddy of mine who lives in Florida, and I've decided to try the pushy, pain in the ..., in his face approach...I think I finally got him to the point where it was instant panic whenever he would see my # on his caller id.

Looks like it may have worked - he's getting ready to order a kit....quite possibly for no other reason than to shut me up. If I can "finish him off", then that will officially make 1 for me, assuming he sticks with it. : )

Mutt, you're a good man
I appreciate that, but would you still think so if the main reason I talk to so many people is for purely selfish reasons?

The reason i talked to people in the home depot, restaurants, child support office, was not to convert them, but to educate them on what they are so i could vape inside their buildings:D

yeah charging batteries was a hassle so i moved on to the ego and now i just use a glv2, so batteries are not a problem. I seriously think that for my family, they thought it was going to be like a magic pill, just try it and all of the smoking urges go away. I still say that for any method to work, patch, pills, gum, e-cigs, the user has to WANT to quit smoking. Now I did try with the patches and gum and pills and they worked for a couple days, maybe a week total if I added up all the time between them. But the difference with the e-cig is I still had that hand to mouth motion going. Not only do we have a nicotine habit, we have a hand to mouth habit that is just as strong. For me, the e-cig was life changing. It was still hard to break the habit, and I thank my wife for helping me with that. She was constantly telling me it would in no way work. that i was wasting money. That kept me going on the e-cig.

your correct, the user must want to quit, and thats a big thing, that goes for anything though . if a person does something and they dont wanna stop, your help isnt help at all until the realize it their self, and i might get an ego but my 510 last me all day and its ok for now

4 so far, and many taking interest in my vaping cause they are seeing that it works for me.
I feel the success is all in the right model and the right juice for each person. What works for one with not work for another, they have to want and be willing research to find works.

yeah i agree

None that I know of yet but a few of my smoking friends have atleast shown some interest and been asking questions. One said he bought and tried an e-cig quite a while back but just couldn't stand the taste. I convinced him to take 1 of my cartos and try it, so I'm anxious to get the feedback.

thats the thing like i said i had someone who hated the old e-cig, which was from a year ago, and loves mine + blueberry e-juice, yum =D

well, it looks like this site (ECF) gets about 60,000+ hits per month, so let the FDA try to ban these things, and then kick back and enjoy the s**t storm that will ensue

you'll still find em underground, the funny thing is people can sell bongs, pipes, stuff for crack, and a whole bunch of stuff, but something people actually use for "tobacco" they ban, funny stuff

Quite a few actually. My wife and I have a really big circle of friends and most of them smoke. We've been to a few parties with our PVs now, and a couple of people have already bought vapes. Quite a few others are bugging me for info on which to get and where to buy them from.

I also converted a few people from a post I made I on reddit a few weeks back.

I think ppl need to have the DESIRE to quit smoking. I mean they really have to want it. I am CONSTANTLY trying to get ppl to vape. I will walk up to strangers smoking outside target, walmart, etc. with business cards and most of the time I get good response.
I pass out alot of cards to ppl that approach me when I'm vaping as well. I was at my gf's sister's wedding the other day, and I had 4-5 ppl VERY interested, like "about to go get on the internet and order" interested. Those look promising. I also got a kit for my neighbor that vapes now, my OTHER neighbor is waiting on his kit. I got a kit for my father and HE vapes now, after smoking for 40+ years. I got my gf's mom vaping (although she uses NJoy she swears by it- oh well good for her! she still adds her own e liquid though). And last but not least- my GF quit with me- which REALLY helped me because we live together and we're such a great team... I'm so proud of her. We both DIY liquids and trade flavors and stuff :)

So I guess the count is 5 with 4-5 more I'm fairly sure will be vaping soon- and that's not including the uncertainty of the "strangers" I tried to convert... here's hope though!
