I've got the CM v4 kit - it came with a Coil Master v1 DIY Mini kit, so I didn't get the lil orange holder ;)

I was using the vpdam coiling rods before that. The CM kit is so much better - longer rods and 3 different winders. It even works brilliantly on anticlockwise coils ;)

Yep. If I don't break it on my first dry run. That's always POSSIBLE. LOL.

    Anna
I think it's fairly Unbreakable unless you somehow miss what I missed and that was how to access the deck. I watched six different tutorials and all of them apparently had a cut scene where they went somewhere to access the deck off screen because none of them showed it. I can't wait to get your impression on it :)

@AvaOrchid, what are you using for wicking?

As if you're using Rayon, it does shrink when wet. Then it doesn't make good contact with the coil and flavour drops off.

Cotton is the opposite and swells when wet, so if you use a little too much it impedes liquid flow and then flavour drops off. But it will also start to singe as well.

Hopefully you'll get it sussed eventually.

Also I've found you can get a good vape from 26 AWG and 27 AWG round wire (6 evenly spaced wraps with a 3mm ID).
I just realized that earlier I accidentally hit the disliked Emoji I didn't mean that I meant to hit like. I apologize if you saw the dislike on your really helpful comments I really do like them and I really do appreciate them

. X must be screwed to mod or any stand... pulling tank from deck is close to impossible by holding just RTA.:)

That is true for me with most RTAs honestly. Sometimes I have to like, shove things in the airholes for leverage even. I've gotten better about overtightening it.

I mean I will drop it or something.

No worries @AvaOrchid, my thumbs and a note 9 know well where you're coming from. So is the cotton your using Muji, Koh Gen Do, Puff or other?

And just for the hell of it last week I tried a 3mm ID coil with the X, and it does fit but it only kind of works for me as I ended up getting the tank airlocking on me so not much liquid was getting to the coil. But flavour and vapour was better, but at 0.5 ohms it did get hot quickly when chain vaped.

And while making coils I looked at my 3mm Knitting needle and noticed US 2.5 3mm, now that's where I went wrong. The 2.5 is in bold, doh.

And if you want to try Rayon again @AvaOrchid , see if you can get hold of non sterile Tidi Rayon balls, it's supposed to be much better quality than the Cellucotton Rayon and of course because I'm UK based I can't get hold of any. Typical...

@stols001, worst you can do is jam the tank section on the deck or crack the plastic tank. It's pretty bulletproof in its engineering.

Just to make you feel not quite so bad I lost the deck of an X on Friday. Haven't been able to find it so far, as it wants to play hide and seek on me for a bit of a while.

I've used the Muji mainly but I also tried some cotton bacon in there just for giggles but I really dont love that stuff it tastes fine but it's annoying to use I like being able to just cut a piece off. I tend to rip the cotton bacon into shreds and get it stuck on my fingers and once I accidentally inhaled some of it LOL

@AvaOrchid - I’m watching your trials and tribulations with interest.

Like you, I haven’t been able to get great flavor out of the X. The best I’ve been able to get is “ok” flavor, so I’ve put it aside for now. To be fair, I think I just lost interest after a few builds, all of which gave me a very smooth draw with muted flavor.

I’ll give it another go eventually, but as of now I’m thinking that the X may be made for a different style of vaping than what I’m accustomed to (e.g. higher wattage, exotic coils, non-TC modes, etcetera).

Maybe I’ll get inspired once @stols001 gets in the game. :)
I would say I am getting a very smooth draw that is an absolute great description it's just a smooth draw of what I would expect my E-liquid to taste like out of I don't know a poorly made subtank. I feel like I'm expecting too much but when I put it in perspective with the tanks that I own the order doesn't seem right in terms of flavor. We've got the doggy on top followed by the Berserker and then we have sub tanks and then my joyetech aio box (square ciggalike) that has a coil as big as my fingernail. And then comes the Project X right before the only thing that I've ever purchased Vape related that I truly regret and that's the rift core. You could try vaping straight sugar on that thing and it would taste like air. So the x is better than that but it falls short of everything else. If I can get the X above subtank level I will be happy. But I've been sidetracked by squonking for the first time I didn't know if I would like it or not but I realized that I've managed to accumulate three squonk without ever trying it two of them are unregulated devices that I basically only got for stockpile and the other one that I'm using right now is a really old dripbox 160 that I got used but in like new condition and that's what I'm using right now with a tiny little wasp Nano.... and I'm loving it so I'm thinking I like squonking. Once I get back to the x and I figure it out I'll be sure to let you know. It's good to know that I'm not the only one.

Squonking is a tad addicting :D But RDAs are an easier way to learn about rebuildables.

I like them better "shortie" too and use 2 like that but I still run one w/4ml, just because. ;)
Ever since I got my KFL19's I just dig the smaller form.

Today I added another SS X to my FT cart. That led me to looking at when I bought my Project X's. I received one in June, August and October. And a MTL X in August. That got me thinking that there really shouldn't be any mfr'ing differences between what I have and what everyone else has. They would all likely be from the same batches. IDK, just my thoughts anywho. :)
When I switched to the short tank everything fit and lined up better. The top cap wasn't so tight, the tank lines up perfectly with the JFC holes when I adjust it. The AFC ring turns nicely. Maybe my long mode tank was just a lemon:blink:

@AvaOrchid, my rough rule with Muji is to cut a strip approx 3× the coil ID. It at least gets you somewhere in the goldilocks range.

@muth, from what I can tell. The plastic tank section is too tall, so when you tighten the top cap fully you end up with friction braking happening due to the pressure applied. The worst thing about it is it's easy to fix.

It makes me wonder if they're using CAD CAM to produce things, as you always have to check tolerances of the manufactured items to check tolerances. As what is on a screen, isn't exactly what you get in real life.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing like I'm putting the cotton in there and I'm like I just kind of tuck this in and it doesn't really matter does it because it can't leak I mean if you over squonk I suppose but you know don't do that LOL I've also got to say I kind of like big old heavy monstrous mods even though I don't really drop my stuff very often I feel like if I drop this Kanger dripbox it would be fine in fact I feel like if a burglar came into my house and I beat them with it I would be fine it would be fine but the burglar would be dead and that's just what I want out of my mods apparently LMAO

Mine arrived yesterday help the heavens. I had to go to Tucson and back and like, I got back late. I have not even looked, but I have 4 days off and plan to do some playing. IDK got to start reading that PDF. LOL.

But I will give it my best try. Kind of weirdly exhausting week for the week but I only have FIVE notes count that FIVE, and then... The rest of the weekend is mine. They are not even late.

    PHOOF.

I want to do some more cleaning and organizing. Just got done with yoga so no appetite for a bit.

It is raining (freezing) cats and dogs, like, and well, no one is travelling so I shall be alone on Thanksgiving! One of my sweetest patients gave me the BEST like, homemade pumpkin roll but it had about 59,00584 calories in it and I am ONE person so I shared it with my coworkers. LOL it disappeared in 15 minutes. So maybe not turkey but I got desert covered.

I cleaned one of my Xs yesterday, and for the hell of it replaced the o-ring on the chimney (where the tank sits):
    9707097-6.jpg

    I used a silicone 18mm * 16mm * 1mm

I still VG'd it and the deck hole o-rings, but the difference was amazing. My JFC has never been too hard to use - but now it is easy peasy.

I've been using silicone o-rings on all my RDA decks, as they make taking off the caps so much easier :thumb:

Can you tell which Project X got a new o-ring? ;)

@AngeNZ, FKM and FFKM are massively superior to silicone. Higher stable temperature ranges and massively greater wear or abrasion resistance.

2.6mm ID × 1mm thick o rings (×2) for the liquid feed holes in the bottom of the tank section, for some strange reason the original ones are 3mm ID.

I have done lots of organizing but like... I have so many new things to set up I am WHELMED.

I also (I am organizing the beautiful mind room currently) have no need of vape anything ever for a very long time. I am going to write that somewhere like in indelible ink on the computer monitor perhaps.

I told the husband my phone thinks it is in Mexico. I was gonna call the number but HE is all up in arms now and is gonna do it. LOL. He was really grumpy on the phone earlier this should be... .interesting.

I think it's the store I got it from honestly. It said it was a Verizon authorized dealer but the staff did not act like it. Also I'm fairly sure they sold me a refurbished phone as a new one.

At the time I was worried about my impending HIPPPA thing and couldn't stop crying. It was a bad time to look for a new phone let me put it that way, but my old one died. I sort of kept apologizing between crying (I think) I don't have too much memory of those 3 days.

Not the first time, but it does get annoying.
