The man who sucks it up is a VAPER.

The man who lays it down is a PAVER.

The man who likes it kosher is a PARVE.

The man who is the fun guy is a VERPA.

The man with the broken heart is a VERAP.

The man who sells English vapor is a REVAP.

The man who says "no pain, no gain" is a PREVA.

The man who says "give me the dirty" is a PERVA.

The man who has German business plans is an AVERP.

And those are the only ones I know.

So am I a VAPER? No. I am just a CHRIS.

I smoked my cigarettes. I was called: smoker
I vape my vaporizer. I am called: vaper

there ya go.

Yep, I'll take this post for $500.

Don't worry about what specific terms are used to define you. The reason we use terms in the first place is to identify something, and we share the same term so that when we use that term, we can identify whatever that term represents easily.

We call ourselves vapers because we vape.....it really is that simple.

I say "vaper" too. My problem is what to call my device. I don't like the term "e-cigarette" and vaporizer sounds odd to me.
I usually refer to mine as, like you said, a "device". Or I refer to the battery or mod and the tank or dripper separately. Vaporizer is a lotta syllables and takes too long to say in casual conversation.

If you call your device a PV, so calling yourself a Vaper would make sense.

Or Would Vapper be gramaticaly correct?
Vapper would be pronounced like "rapper". Need just one "p" for the long a, so it should be Vaper. What's a little funny to me is it sounds the same as "vapor" when I say it, but I don't mind that.

I would say "vaper" is much easier to use and in the context of conversation, it would be noticeable whether someone meant "vaper" or "vapor." The term "vaper" is just more comfortable to use.

As for the smoker vs. non debate, a vlogger I follow (IndoorSmokers) postulated that even if we are technically non-smokers as vapers, our pasts as smokers shouldn't be discounted. That is, we are on a pure technicality, still smokers even if we have completely abandoned analogs. With this sort of mentality, we can relate easier with smokers, rather than holding an air of superiority or establishing an awkward schism between the two.

It isn't so much about how much you vape or whether you abandoned analogs. It's the community that builds and creates and advocates, and welcoming smokers at their pace (not ours) is something to be respected. You can't make someone switch if they choose not to.

I find myself wondering if the ending shouldn't be -or. After all, we have inspectors, not inspecters.

On this side of the puddle there would be no confusion between vapour and vapor, but I think you colonials may differ. ;)

That brings up gender issues of course, because then a female would have to be called a vaprix, I think.

You might be technically correct... maybe not as you would have to ask the inventor of the word whoever that is. But, "vaper" just makes sense when I'm "vaping" and consistent with "smoking/smoker." As for my PV, cigalike, etc, I've started calling it my "fogger or fog stick" and started calling it that recently after seeing a lot of fog at a concert. It occurred to me as making more sense and seems less intimidating/stigmatizing to a non-smoker. Vaporizer leads the mind to "vaporing what?" where "fog" doesn't seem to.
