I truly believe I coined a lot of vaping terms here on ECF from being in every single thread at all times. Like, I bet I single handedly coined at least 2 of the terms we all use right now. Not to be cocky... I mean it really just means I've spent too much time here posting for 20 hours a day with no breaks.

When we were all trying or switching to clear cartomizers, I was part of the bandwagon to call them clearomizers. Then we switched to big clear things with removable heads and I kept calling them clearomizers even though others were calling them tanks or other things... Idk If I STARTED calling them clearomizers, but I definitely helped make it stick. And now we call clearomizers.... clearomizers.

I definitely helped make some terms stick but I think I must have coined at least 1 term. I've ran into terms we all use that I remembered creating myself personally. We might not use them anymore but I do feel like I've had a hand in creating terms that I got the whole forum to use. Maybe I'm just crazy, or narcissistic.

I don't want to be called a member of the language police
But : a person who vapes is a what?
I have seen the term vaper used a bit, but wouldn't the correct term be vaporer
and yes I know this is a pendantic topic.

you may be correct.. but that may depend on what your definition of is is.

ok, well, if you want to be pedantic and persnickety :D

'Vapor' is a noun - 'vape' is the new verb which has been coined to describe what one does with the vapor.
When we puff on a PV we don't say we're 'vaporing' - we say we're 'vaping'.

so ... i vape, you vape, he/she/it vapes - thus one who vapes, is therefore correctly called a "vaper". (not a 'vaporer')

and further, although it could also be technically correct to use the existing verb "vaporize"... as in, to say
"I'm vaporizing" when i puff -- the problem with that is then we would have to call one who vaporizes, a "vaporizer." - and that word of course, denotes something ENTIRELY different. LOL

I'd say you also don't want to say you're "vaporizing". Thanks to science fiction media I would immediately think of ray guns and turning something to dust. ;)

I like it too. Or perhaps a bit shorter, even. "Vapist".

I know - it's not new. It's been used several places already. But I like it, too. Vaporist. Vapist.

OK, nah. I think I like "vaporist" better after all. It sounds professional. Slightly artsy, but only a little. And if I had never heard of vaping, "vapist" might sound to me like some new kind of criminal.

"Police have just arrested the suspected perpetrators. They are believed to be two larcenists and a vapist." :?:

How about a "VD". Vaping device.

"Hey ladies. Would either of you like to share my VD?"

:pervy:

I don't want to be known as a serial vapist.
