I am worried about people's reactions, that they may think I am doing drugs or the like.
It has gotten a bit better since I got my 510, which is MUCh quiter that my hard draw SE Gold, but I just seem to feel silly.

Did this happen to anyone else? Will it go away? I nned to just pick up my skirt, grab my balls and vape away don't I??

I feel the same way, that is why i just try to act nonchalant and "smoke away" like everything is normal. if you really don't want to be asked about it, then stealth vape with your hand over the cigarette (like smoking in an area where you aren't supposed to be)

this is why i like using the regular batteries vs a moded battery in public.

Don't worry about what others assume.

It's never bothered me, and the only comments I ever get are complimentary, or asking where they can get one themselves.

I can't help that I do care what other perceive... especially when I am with my children. Which is almost always.

I live in a city that is very anti-smoking... at least to me people always were and I just that stigma along with the worry tht people with think I am doping scare me!!

Doesn't help that my 2 best friends are serious smartasses and give me crap about trading cigarettes for a crackpipe =/ I know they joke, but it makes me paranoid!

This is one of those things that I thought I would struggle with. I would hide it when out in public or at the bars. My wife works at a bar locally and I spend a significant amount of time there with her. Most of the smokers will actually ask me about it. I’m even to the point where I’m tired of answering questions but I have converted 10+ people over so it’s all worth it.
Trust me when I tell you that most smokers are incredibly envious when you tell them how you can vape in all of these places they can’t smoke and the throat hit is about the same as an unfiltered Lucky. Non-smokers always know of someone that they wish would quit also. If you hide it like you are embarrassed, more people will notice. If you stand there proudly of your accomplishment of quitting analogs, people seem to be drawn to how cool this thing is.

I agree, I may draw negative attention because I look like I am trying to hide something.

BTW, I just moved back to AZ from Lexington..... most beautiful place in the US in my opinion. I would move back in a second if there were jobs in our field there

Glad I am not the only one, and I'm still relatively new so hoping that I will progress.

Shhhhhhh!!!!!! You should know by now that we don’t make this public knowledge. We don’t want everyone moving here! :D

Hang in there with vaping in public. I promise, it gets better, especially when your friends become supportive of how well your doing and start bragging about you to their other smoker friends.

I agree I too am getting a little worn-out from "Where do you get them", "How much?" "How long do they last?" etc.... I have converted Six friends though. Been thinking about buying a couple starters and keeping them in the car. Couldn't hurt to get a few bucks back since I'm basically selling them anyway. NO FEAR

With a nicostick or regular 510 batteries nobody notices what I'm doing. I was waiting for my car outside a lube joint near Trenton, NJ (lots of gangs/drugs in the area) and vaping on my Silver Bullet yesterday and one of the mechanics yelled "Yo, is that a PIPE?" I just ignored and that was the end of that - did have the effect of me switching to the nicostick until I got in the car and out of there, tho :)

Strangely enough, I got the exact opposite. When vaping with my Nicostick, some folks mistook it for a pipe a couple of weeks ago.

When I am out and about vaping with my Chuck, I do get a few strange looks, but it's mostly looks of curiosity.

did anybody tried vaping inside the movie theater?

I was at the theater last week with my 901, but it was a full theater and had people all around me so I didn't vape until the credits were rolling (gf likes to stay to see the whole credits, just in case there is a small bit of movie at the end lol) so I stealth vaped during the credits after most everyone around me had left

if the seating situation was different I'd vape with a mod or no-led batt and hold it in or blow it down my shirt =/

I also ordered some 'stealth juice' which produces no visible vapor supposedly, going to try this in the airport and maybe airplane

I live in a pretty old-fashioned cowboy town, plenty of hardcore smokers and dippers who'd probably not think highly of an e-cig. I've never seen one here outside of my own and probably wont any time soon

Speaking of Lexington, I was at the UK game in Rupp Arena last night and I almost had to break out the 510 during that nail-biting game. LOL.

It was my first day of vaping... I was a bit apprehensive. So much that I even went outside on the smoking paddock with the 1,000 smokers. Creature of habit, I suppose. Strangely enough, no one even noticed me sucking on a big black stick with a blue light on the end of it... except the security guard next to the door did kinda look at me funny when I took one last big drag and proceeded to put it in my pocket before walking by him... LOL.

Yes. If anyone asks, tell them it's your personal vaporizer.

You're doing this for your yourself, your children and your future. There's nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about.

Be proud of what you are accomplishing.

i still dont have the balls to vape inside the bar. i have to go outside with the smokers. they ask me about it and they always say just do it inside. maybe i might have to do it since its getting really cold in chicago..

Went to the movies for the first time in about 3 years this past weekend. To see 2012, which is a two and a half hour movie. There is no way, before e-cigs, that I would have been able to sit calmly through the whole thing.

Yes, I vaped, even though it was crowded, just palmed the LED, like I do at work, and blew the vapor down my shirt after holding it for a bit. No one said anything, and I didn't get kicked out, so I'm assuming no one noticed.

As far as the original thread goes, I've gotten some strange looks in public, but I don't tend to be as blatant about the e-cig as I was with analogs. I don't know why. I've vaped just about everywhere tho, just very discreetly. Haven't been to a bar yet, but I think even then I would go outside with the smokers. I don't think it's embarrassment as much as it is not wanting to explain it and the degree of anti-smoking belligerence there is in my state.
