I got my lady pipe today and am really excited. But, I'm confused about the battery charger that came with it. I got it from eastmall and he sent me extra batteries, which makes me very happy, but the battery charger doesn't have a spring thing on there to show me that it's the "negative" side. It looks the same on both sides and isn't marked. I suppose it would be negative side DOWN, right?

Maybe a dumb question. Sorry.

ALso, I'm not getting lots of vapor yet. Uh oh. I've only taken about 20 hits so far. Maybe it's not primed yet.

I just went through this! the plus of the battery points to the top, or pointy, end of the charger. If you sat it in a table, plus is up. I got my pipe 2 days ago and it actually does tell you this somewhere in the book or on the Central Trade website. Negative side down, you are correct.

I got vapor right away. You might be sure you have a nice wet cart in there. I love the pipe so far. Better than anything else I have tried. The pipe really used all the juice in the cart, right down to the end. I am really impressed, SO FAR!

Thank you so much, both of you.

I am vaping a mix of High Janty boost and High Johnson Creek strawberry. But, you know what? I accidentally put some menthol in there, too, and had to throw out that cartridge filling. I hope it gets out of this atomizer soon.

I am getting some vapor, but not like the videos, but I am not really getting a throat hit and I need the throat hit. Really, I've probably only taken 40 hits or so though. Maybe it's coming soon?

Lu,
What do you mean "pesky" atomizer. Is there something specific you're talking about or just a general concern about atomizers acting weird?

I just changed atomizers and nothing yet. And, then I take a draw off my 901 and it's like heaven. Then back to the pipe-- very slight. Gosh, this is disappointing. I hope this improves.

I just gave my first batt a full charge, and have vaped about 1/2 cart and topped off with TC. It's vaping pretty well, not London fog well, but as good as, or slightly better than my 901 with a much lighter draw. hopefully by the end of the day, I will have the atomizer broken in, and will be able to report that it vapes like a dragon.

There seems to be a problem with some atomizers making a good connection with the battery. So try this (it worked for me): At the batt end of the atomizer, take a paperclip, put it in that little hole and pull up on it. Do this all the way around til it's pulled up some, and even. Then try using it again.

Just make sure you don't pull too hard as there's a piece of plastic under there that can snap off. You'll probably see it when you're doing this. Just play with it a little....you'll get the hang of it. I did! :p

Let us know how it goes.

Rob, you received yours? that was quick... Mine is still, and I love Scott's words, smoking like a burning tire! Johnson Creek Peach in it now. The car that came with it tasted... poorly.
Yup, it's here. Thanks for the great deal Ed. takes a few primers to get it going good, and then nice vapor. Vaport is cooler than my 901, but does it draw sweet. Now to find some atomizers in the same color or stainless.....

Thanks again Ed

I have a new question. I had to go out, so I took the mostly-charged battery with me, but I didn't get better results. So, now I have that battery charging some more. But, actually I ahve two questions. The first one is about what Lu said about the atomizer. I think they are meeting because I'm getting a really small amount of vapor. But, I can get a deeper hit if I inhale right to my lungs rather than my mouth first, which isn't fun for me at all. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Terrephon did a video that I saw the other day and he mentioned this while talking about the Bloog cig. But, I've never had to do that before and I really don't like it. And, I still don't get the loads of vapor everyone talks about, but I do get a hit in my throat and a nicotine rush. It's not like smoking, it's like smoking pot. But, that's pretty much how I feel when using the KB, too, so maybe that's normal for 801s? And, the lady pipe uses an 801 atomizer/cartridge.

The other thing is, when I put the battery in, the pipe lights on and off for a second or two. IS that normal or is that telling me that my battery isn't charged enough?

I'm really afraid to mess with the atomizer connection. I did try to gently pull on it a little bit with a thing similar to a paperclip, but it didn't move easily, so I left it alone. I really think there's a connection being made, though-- I feel and see SOME vapor, but just a little bit.

By the way, my item of comparison to everything is my 901 which I love (even though Greg from SmokeLiberation has not responded to me regarding my dead batteries and m/b faulty charger, lol (hint)). So, I just want a good hit like I get on that. I don't want to give up on the pipe yet.

Okay, help, please! Thanks! :)

I also was a little disappointed when I received the pipe. I had ordered a cou[ple extra atomizers and batteries. When I first used the thing I had the same response as Kendra, thought it was kind of weak. I kept working the atomizer by just puffing a lot on it from time to time. After a couple of days it started to produce lots of vapor and throat hit. It's nice to have the option of switching from one to the other and it does hold lots of liquid so is good for on the run. One of the atomizers has never worked properly out of the three ordered. I do believe there is a break in period with these atomizers so give it some time and try to just work it for a day. Hopefully you will have good results.
Kind Regards

Thanks Houdini and Aspen. Houdini, if I would have ordered the SD first, I wouldn't have ordered this at all. But, this was less expensive and I didn't think that I'd be so interested in all these different kinds of e-cigs!

I did figure out something, but I'm confused about it. I put my Janty atomizer on the pipe, and it works really really well. I only have one janty atomizer though and once that's gone, I'm not replacing it with Janty brand. I put my new atomizers on the KB, and I couldn't get a draw at all-- not even a little bit. So, I put the atomizers on my pipe again, and I am getting a very very slight draw only.

These are the 801 four hole atomizers. I'm hoping Aspen is right and they just need to be broken in but, geesh, I'm getting a headache from inhaling so hard. Can all four brand new atomizers be bad? I ordered from eastmall so I'm not sure I'll return the pipe-- it would just cost too much to return.

The hole in the atomizer looks a bit smaller than the hole in the Janty atomizer. I don't know. What are your thoughts? Just continue to puff away? For how long? I'd hate to give up and maybe never find that five more minutes would have done it!

Hi Kendra,

It is very well possible that the atomizer is too wet. It comes primed from the factory, but I believe David tests all the atomizers he sends out (which is a good thing), which could mean it is slightly on the wet side.

I would suggest trying to dry vape it (without a cart, just the mouthpiece, or even directly on the atomizer mouth/hole) for a while. See if you get better vapour after a while or if it becomes even less. If you do get more vapour, keep dry vaping until the vapour becomes less, and then try with a cart. If dry vaping makes the vapour even less than with a cart, my theory may be wrong. Be careful not to let the atomizer get too dry either though, as that is not good for it.

I realise this seems confusing, but I have had quite a few atomizers arrive too wet and needed to dry vape to get them working properly, which is why I suspect this might be the case with yours.

It is true that the atomizers on these Mini Pipes are a bit hit and miss. Some just don't perform well right out of the box, others perform very well (which is where the big vapour stories come from, and it is absolutely true !) for a while and then either taper off over time or die altogether.

Thus it is very possible that you may have one of these atomizers that doesn't perform well out of the box, but it seems unlikely to me that all of them are like this. Besides, I know that Davids tests his atomizers and finds it very important that they give good vapour before he sends them out (apparently he's refused a considerable amount of them because they underperformed !), so I think it more likely that they are just too wet.

The reason the Mini pipe atomizer didn't work with the KB is probably due to a compatibility issue. It seems that some of these Mini pipe bowls work fine with other 801 atomizers (and the Mini pipe atomizers with other brand/generic 801 batteries, although the draw is then generally quite tough due to the different placement of the airholes on the Mini Pipe atomizers), and some Mini Pipe bowls seem to not want to work with the same 801 atomizers that did work with the other Mini Pipe bowl  !

I have no explanation for this at all, it is a total mystery, but you can read about it elsewhere on this forum. Some people have modified other (non Mini Pipe) 801 atomizers successfully to get them to work properly with the Mini Pipe.

Hope this helps you in some way, good luck ! The Mini Pipe is really a great device when it is performing well (been using it for a few months now and rarely use anything else anymore, but I do keep a considerable stock of spare atomizers handy !), the flavour especially can't be beat !

Cheers,
Silver
