Oh well. Flavor for me is 2 out of 5. Does not come close to Magma or Origens V2 flavor let alone Fogger flavor. No comparison. My REO Grand LP/ RM2 blows them all away for flavor and overall.

It's a semi PITA to build. It does have massive behemoth draw and does chuck the clouds.

It will take only 11 thicker drops as opposed to 25-30 for the Magma and V2. As far as the "never leaks" hype just don't overfill it by one drop and it won't leak. Also, if your top cap is not well seated, she will leak with the best of them.

So I get sucked in by all the hype.

Live and learn.

I had the same experience with the Tobh v2. Ordered it from fasttech and by the time I got it the Tobh hype train had left the station and the Magma was the new thing.

Since you have both the Magma and Origen v2 I will ask... I currently have the Magma and love it. Wife keeps taking it. Naturally I should buy another so we both have one, but I have heard good things about the Origen v2. If it is similar to the Magma I think it would be a nice addition to my collection.

My Wife's interest in RDAs is casual at best, and subject to change so I don't want to be stuck with two Magmas (which is not necessarily a bad thing).

Thoughts?

Sorry the Veritas did not work out for you. I have had a totally different experience with it. I have a Veritas clone, a Magma clone and an authentic 454 Big Block and have enjoyed them all. The Veritas was a little hard to build at first as it is a completely different animal than other drippers. I love the fact that it does not leak for me, even though I have removed the top base oring to make the top cap easier to remove. The Magma was a little tight on the air flow until I modified it a little. The 454 Big Block is a very nicely built unit and gives a lot of options on how you can build it.
I go back and forth on which one of the three I like the best. They all have their good points, but I can not say any of them have any really bad points.

The V2 will not let you down. I love the deep well...about the same size as the magma. Flavor and vapor is really nice. It has great draw and many diff draw options with the ACR. A dual coil build with vertical wicks is perfect for it. The center post has a hole for your leads and easy positioning. The Veritas is pure hype. I overly saturate and the thing leaks. The well is so shallow. I mean 11 drops?? That's 5-10 decent pulls on a .5 build. There is so little room for coil placement. The top post is too high for a horizontal build and wicking this thing vertically is just stupid. I should have gotten the hint when I watched the creators video as he did a genni wrap in his kitchen with his kid crying in the other room. That should have been my clue to avoid.

Can you post a pic of your build. On a 1-5 how would you rate your flavor? How are you not leaking from that super shallow drip well.

Okay, just got done with this build. Per the last comment, I have not found a Genni type wrap near the flavor or performance of micro coils. I may try a mesh wick and a genni wrap for my next Veritas build to see what happens. Dont get me wrong, a good genni wrap can really throw flavor. I just think overall micro coil performance is better. Thanks for the suggestion kurrptsenate. So I wrapped 26g on a 1.5mm mandrel 8/7 in duals that ohm'd out at a .4. Here is a pic:
evy6e2yb.jpg

This build took everything I had. It was impossible. The coils were wrapped opposite so the leads worked for each side. Another PITA. The build was impossible. Here is a coil glow shot:

God bless Jeremy for his infamous Rayon thread so here is my wicking saturated with well steeped Bobas. I know exactly how sweet the juice should be so used it to give this build on the Veritas its best chance at performance:
hy3u7y5a.jpg

I mounted it on my VIGGO for max power with little voltage drop...lol:
e4y8ega3.jpg

And the results of my first well is:
1. Behemoth thick vapor due to the low ohm build and VG Bobas.
2. Flavor is 2.5/5 still. It still does not touch the flavor of my RM2, Magma or Norbert.

Someone please explain to me how a different wrap or coil job is going to produce more flavor? Maybe it's just like juice, to each his own...

This build has maximum wick on high performance coils directly in front of that massive air hole and still the flavor is muted...hmmmmmm...

That looks like a sweet build and I definitely dont have a good answer for you. I just ordered a Veritas clone today and have hi hopes myself. Rip Tripper just put out a review of this with a single horizontal build if you havent seen it yet. Might be worth a try if you havent yet and would be easier than what you just did ( I think:))

Its your build, i can get identical flavor to the Origen V2's out of both my Veritas clones.

Try getting your coils as close together as possible (nearly touching) and raise them higher up on the airflow hole, so basically the flow is hitting the bottom 1/3 of the coil, also get them as close to the airhole as possible without shorting to the riser/deck.

I bet you will see a LARGE improvement in the flavor.

FWIW its FAR from a gimmick, its a really great atty, just a pain in the #$% to build (unless you make one of State-o-flux's jigs).

I was afraid this would be my experience with a Veritas as well. I wasn't completely convinced about all the hype with the thing, but I was still debating on getting the clone. Today I decided earlier that I'd get the Origen V2 instead, and this thread kind of helps me think that I was thinking the right thing by not being sure about the Veritas. I just really don't like the way it looks to build on it and how the airflow seems to work. I like my smaller airholes on the Magma.

Man, they are kissing the airhole---I will raise them up as you suggest....Let ya know....The clouds are amazing....the flavor blows....Let ya know. Thanks...

edit: So what you are saying is the wicks below the coil is where all the flavor will come from?? and YES, a complete PITA to build....

Here is the "Quick How To" video by the creator of this device. I think he is the creator. I can't believe I bought this thing after watching this train wreck of a video LOL.

I am going to keep at it...Thanks for the opinions. Post pics of your builds if you want to...Thanks!!

Nope, i've just found that, with the way the airflow runs/path the air travels, its better to have it sit slightly high on the airflow.

*edit* And yes im vaping Boba's (my adv), so i'm familiar with how fickle it can be depending on setup/build.

I dewicked and dry burned and raised them up quite abit. The bottoms of the coils are 1-3mm above the bottom of the airhole. I scrinched the coils together so there is basically no gap between them. They are as close to the airhole as possible. I rewicked and used a little less Rayon. A little more flavor. The vapor is even more cumulus now. I am getting closer. I was thinking I am so jaded by the flavor of my REO that, that is the issue. Like when I moved from stock coil devices/cartos to KFL/Aqua RBAs to RDAs. Based on the lack of a deeper well this device will not be an ADV by any means.
