Finally got my ipv2 and got my first veritas build going. Not bad for the first run but will probably reduce size of coil and use lower gauge for a lower ohm build.
Its 6 wraps of 28g around 1/8" drill bit at 1.4ohm running at 13.5 watts using rayon with thinned tails.
First impressions - I love this ehpro veritas clone!

Great looking build. Nice clouds. Compared to your other devices do you feel your flavor is muted?

I just got a Veritas clone. Haven't figured out a good build yet. Not sure if I like the design. My preferred coil is a single 26g horizontal at .7 ohm and I found it to bee a bit tricky to put on. Somehow, I melted the little insulator at the bottom of the post. Flavor was good, but nothing better, maybe a bit less, than my Magma with the same build. I still need to work with it. I just got it, so I have to give it a chance. I had a .4 ohm parallel 24g vertical coil on it prior. While it worked good, I just didn't like the flavor with that build. I don't know, maybe the Veritas isn't that special.
Try the horizontal coil posted by nopoison. It is working really well for me. No build is easy on the Veritas. I habe tried them all and the single horizontal with the perfect shouldered wick works really well.

+1
The veritas is indeed not all that easy, but when you get it right, it sings. I was actually quite ticked off when I first built it, thinking my dual verticals glowed just fine. But turns out horiz is the way to go. I'm getting outstanding flavor. I don't have a magma but I do have lots of other drippers to compare to and I like this veritas a lot.

I'm thinking that juice hits the pos pin and doesn't go to the coil.... Am I wrong?

I occasionally will drip thru the drip tip. The juice does splash it's way down to the coil and juice trough. You can also drip thru the air hole to great effect. But for me, I prefer to just lift the cap like I do on most of my attys. I like manually saturating the coil and wick for perfect coverage. And with about a milliliter of room, cap lifts aren't too often.

I also found a single horizontal to work best for me in the Veritas. Same coil I put it all my other drippers, 28ga Kanthal compact micro or mini at around 1 ohm on a mech. Tried dual verticals, single vertical, single horizontal macro spring; then finally hit jackpot with the same coil that works in everything else for me lol.

No, I'm assuming it would if you dripped thru the side, as that was my main attraction to this guy, along with the reducer. Does it?
No clue bro...I have not dripped it thru the airhole...I forgot all about that move. Seems like the horizontal micro is the build of choice..

A single rocks WharfRat! I also drip through the airhole.

At first I hated this dripper but now it's one of my favorites. I find the single build pretty easy now and can knock it out in a couple minutes.

One thing I noticed in some for the pitures is that folks are loading their leads under the screws in the wrong direction which can be causing some of the hassles building. Always wrap your leads in the direction that the screw or nut tightens and the leads won't pop out on you. I leave my mandrel in the coil as I tighten the leads down and it helps position the coil right where it belongs.

Get the right build into this dripper and it rocks.

just picked up a black vertias this weekend (Friday actually)

my first build is a vertical tiger coil with 26 gauge kanthal wrapped with .8 flat ribbon. I got rid of the origin v1 because I didn't care for mounting vertical coils but this was TOO bad. I have it @ .7Ω to run at 50 watts on my OKR

i'll probably try a horizontal coil next but this one has been working pretty well for me. I just drip right through the drip tip.

Just stick the bottle tip/needle in hole, squeeze, and then give it a quick dry puff (or just rip it) and the airhole will be clear/no leakage and the juice will make it to the wells.

I still prefer the pull the tip and drip method and just try to concentrate the drops towards the non solid (cap logo side) of the deck.

My favorite veritas build is a single vertical 24g 3.0mm coil at 0.5-0.6. Just enough wick to touch the bottom of the well. It certainly matches my Origen v2 which I've built probably 4-5 dozen times. One downside to me is the afc doesn't work that well as far as control. If I pull the cap off I'm often tweaking it multiple times to get it where I like it. It also still has a lot of airflow even at the smallest hole sizes for some reason. Obviously if you're using it wide open there's no problem. But this rda for me is purely for flavor. For clouds I'd pick up my tobh, stillare or plume veil. If you're coming from a magma you probably won't be too impressed. Both are close with perhaps a slight edge for the magma. But the leak resistant design is a major plus for the veritas.

@desrever I totally agree, I really don't like big wells like the origin or magma BC they need to be kept upright or they make a mess, even if it's over half full in my pocket the things make a mess, not something that I like in a dripper..

I also prefer a normal well BC I run a bottom feeder and I like to have its dry enough to keep upside down and backwards without leaking until I Squonk n vape it back dry enough to not spill out.

Hello, new to the forum here,
I recently decided to jump into the world of RDA and custom juice after using a Aerotank for a long long time.
Here is one thing I noticed while building the Veritas though.

When using horizontal single coil build, it is very, very important to be careful with the two leads.

Due to the "up and down" leads from a horizontal build... the chances of those two leads does heat up significantly and produces the burnt tastes that mask the taste....

Even though for wicking, a lot of of people preaches less is more, but the last time I forgot to remember to stuff just a bit of wicking material under the lead, especially on the top lead....produces pretty horrible results.

Making a contact coil, meaning the wraps touch side-by-side, reduces how hot the leads get quite a bit. A compact micro coil heats from the inside out, while spaced wraps heat about the same time, including hot leads. I wick my Veritas like any other dripper, just the wick through the coil with no added wicks, and don't have any issues with the legs getting hot.

interesting, because that's exactly how I made it.

When I dry fire it, the coil does heat up from the center, but when i hold it even longer, I notice the lead starts to glow too.

and when I try to dry burn it without wick.. i can see the lead clearly starts to create fumes.
There's probably other factors at play, such as how much power is being used, gauge of wire, diameter of coil, how long of a pull taken, and how much airflow. All I can say is with my build specs and how I vape, hot legs aren't an issue for me doing horizontal build with standard wicking with my Veritas.
