MistressNomad: Could you tell me a little more about this? I intended to buy a 901 Riva to use cartos with.

A 901 connector won't work with Kr8008D-1 cartomizers. And as far as I'm aware, they don't make 901 cartomizers.

You can buy an adapter (901 to Kr808D-1) to use cartomizers. Or, you can try the Elegant (at CigEasy) or the Defender (at VaporNine) which are basically the Kr808D-1 equivalent of the eGo or the Riva. You can use Kr808D-1 cartomizers, or 901 atomizers, with the Elegant and the Defender.

*Thanks again everyone!*

Hello hello. I've just thrown together some videos for newbies about the basics. It's aimed towards the newbie on a budget. A bit rough, but I think they got the job more or less done, with everything you need to know to get started, on the cheap. Hope you like them!

They start *very* basic, and get more detailed as you go along.

Links referred to are listed below their respective videos.

Damn. The Flavor Guide & Juice Calculator links don't work.

Poltically Incorrect - You're right, but unfortunately my Edit button is gone now. I can't fix them.

The links in the description box on YouTube, however, is working. So, to get there, click on the DIY Juice vid, and it'll take you to the vid on YouTube. Expand the description, and there they be.

Elendil, or other mods - Is there any way I could send you the proper links to fix the OP?

Very nice, would love to have had this when I started out, might have saved me $3k. But then I would have missed all the experience of learning the hard way. :)

I vote you for the ecig poster child, always nice to have an attractive girl as the 'front man' :)

3k!? Wow, you did learn the hard way! But from the looks of your sig... also had fun along the way. ;)

I'm a bad poster child. I still use carts and can't stand 5v. The mod squad would have a fit.

Oh, screw the Mod Squad. I've just got parts in to try my first 5v box-mod, but I'm not married to it. Your vids are for newbies, and getting into mods is a bit of "information overload" for them. I like the simplicity of what you've put up: Here's the most popular and least .....ed-about models. Start here.

You may want to add, at the end, a vid about "mods", as newbies will hear all about them and get told they have to buy them and blah blah blah.... maybe a very short description of mods would be in order. Like, "There are battery mods, voltage mods, cart, carto and other mods, even if I *personally* don't like them, but here's a general idea of what they are.... don't worry about it right now. If you're a techie, you can 'mod' all you want. If you're not, no big deal.... Just get started vaping" kinda video.

It can be frustrating watching the newbies section sometimes, and seeing people saying "get a Hello battery with an LR atty," or "check the carto on your multimeter," or "screw that, get a Big Chuck with this battery for 3.7v and this battery for 6v," blah blah blah... and it makes me wonder if these people even remember when they were new.

I also think it might be worth saying that some of us DON'T upgrade, don't WANT to upgrade, and there's nothing wrong with doing what works for you. If you want to have a crazy collection of every mod out there, great. If you like your stock batt, great.

I think a lot of newbies get really overwhelmed with that, and again, the price point - "If I'm going to need to upgrade to this giant Hoodinger Mod in a month that costs $200 just by itself, what's the point?"

I may address that at some point...
