- cursed cartridges (Satan's spawn)
- blue foam
- tea bags
- homemade syringe tanks
- bonuts
- carto rejuvenation battles
- carto punch evolution

Today, I truly believe that the only person that can't quit 'bakky with current available equipment/jooses is one that doesn't want to quit!!!

OK, I hear reference to these things all the time, but what on earth were they USED for??

Heh, I tried all the cart mods. The PTB was too inconsistent from one cart to the next. Blue Foam and Fulful (sic?) we not that bad, but still not great. No Fill mod worked great when it worked and not at all when it wasn't just-so.

Newbies have to be wondering what the heck a cart is and why everyone was modifying them all the time...

I remember something else and I'm not sure I remember the name correctly, Carlos Juice Box. The first handmade atomizer coil I ever saw...it was so cool.

I remember when the best vaping videos on youtube were Leaford and his parrot talking about his favorite Ecigs and Epipes. Or GrimmGreen with his horrible camera trying to tell us the difference between the 510 and the 901. Both of them saying "These big battery ecigs coming out are gigantic! They are impossible to put in your pocket! They will never catch on!" and back then the biggest mods were eGo sized LOL! Remember when 510s were called "The Yetti" or "The Janty Dura-C" or "The Titan" and they were regulated at 3.3 volts which was revolutionary. Everyone was just happy to actually SEE vapor till the battery needed a charge. WOW this thing actually creates vapor! 10/10 stars! lol.

The Janty "Stick" and the "Prodigy" and the "Silver Bullet" and the ""Screwdriver" lol. The Reo was impossible to get and certain juices had waiting lists and drop time battles. E-pipes came out and the cartridges were like a half inch in diameter but the inside was just a normal cartomizer lol and they were like $40 for 5. Remember when people thought that the cartomizers that were producing better vapor and less throat were because of the way the carto was made. THEN we figured out that it was just a carto filled with high VG juice. :p & then the "NEW! Super Premium Cartomizers!" came out and no one knew why they were $20 for a pack of 5 but they worked amazingly. Then we figured out that they were just low resistance coils.

So why don't some of us old-timers reminisce a little bit about how it used to be....

--I remember when new members would be struggling constantly trying to find the path to a satisfying vape
--I remember when the 510 came on the scene, with a somewhat lower resistance atomizer, and new vapers started having increased success
--I remember when 510 cartridge mods were all the rage, as folks kept trying to find a good way to continue getting those consistently good vapes
--I remember when the KR808D came on the scene, and cartomizers started pushing new vaper success rates even higher
--I remember the ensuing 510 vs KR808D wars
--I remember the Boge Cartomizers for the 510 models that may well have turned the tide towards 510 models
--I remember when low-resistance (LR) atomizers came on the scene and the ability to vary your "power" became a reality
--I remember the FDA court case, and the formation of CASAA from members on this very forum
--I remember when CASAA started working closely with long-time harm-reduction advocates, thus giving long-time THR advocates new life and consumer backing
--I remember when the Chuck came out with custom graphics
--I remember the Chuck vs Silver Bullet wars
--I remember when the Reo Mods came out, and took dripping to a whole new level
--I remember when Egos came out and new vaper success started to skyrocket
--I remember the Buzz, which if I remember correctly, started the variable voltage revolution
--I remember when the Provari came out and started the variable voltage wars
--I remember when the Nhaler came out with the Darwin and started the variable wattage vs variable voltage wars

And I look at that the New Members sub-forum these days, and find very few struggling at first vape anymore.
Success, now, is nearly guaranteed.

That's progress.
:)

What do you all remember?

I remember getting real excited with the PTB and Hiping cart (NOT carto) mods for my 510's. I remember getting enough stuff ready to take with me if I left the house for more than an hour. And I remember getting my first fixed voltage eGo. I was really rolling then. Then came the CE2 adventures...

It's actually kinda boring these days in comparison.

Here is a picture of my 510 cartridge with TWO springs in it for a hardcore spring mod...

DSC00760.jpg

The springs "rested" on the little ledge inside the 510 cartridge.
The you would place just a small piece of polyfil or blue foam on top of the springs.

Other people were using one spring from a pen, but I went out and found these tiny springs on the interweb.
I then proceeded to use this modification for about one week before trying something else.

Did you have to plug that into a 110v outlet?

SEQUENCE:

1. pre-pay $80
2. wait weeks after promised delivery
3. returned PMs with lying statements
4. unanswered PMs
5. banned disappearing mod maker

For those that actually got one the....

INSTUCTIONS:

1. unpack carefully
2. get extremely frustrated in the attempt to make it work
3. throw it against nearest wall
