I changed my name from "Newbie" to "Okie" when I moved to the REO sub forum because one of the guys made fun of me for being "Newbie" when I was becoming an ECF Veteran. Ha.
Names changes are not always noticed.
But I noticed yours.

Not many know that I was once named Deadcat2.
I also changed my name, but so early on that nobody even noticed.
:(

I've only known you as DC2. I do remember a few times when you stated that you were Deadcat previously. ;)

Maybe it's easy to overlook a dead cat? But now I know what DC stands for.

I would say get well to the cat, but I guess it's too late for that.

You've had that name a long time. I started lurking on ECF about 2010, and you were DC2 then. IIRC, you still have the same avatar too. What were those mods called again?

I've got at least 7 lives left, so it's all good.
:)
@DC2, I noticed you early on because of something a little silly.....your join date (June 21st) is my birthday. :) I've paid attention to you since those early days because we are some of the oldest old-timers. (And I'm talking seniority, not age.) I didn't ever know what the DC stood for, but you were here on ECF for almost an entire year before I arrived. Maybe you changed it before I got here.

I went back and looked at my Turning into a Vet thread the other day and it made me sad to notice how many people I considered friends who are long gone now. I'm sure you remember Whiskey. Do you remember mistress nomad? Cassie (Mistress Nomad) was key to my early success with vaping. She was really young. She was very active in the relatively short time she was here. She made several videos that were really helpful back then.

This (ECF) was my first experience with internet forums and I just loved (still do) the whole experience. I visited the "Outside" one time. I felt bloody, scared, intimidated, and shocked. I only went there once. Once was enough. :) I think just that one visit served to 1) show me how brutal a forum could be, and 2) make me totally appreciate the civility and warmth of the rest of ECF.
Nostalgia......sometimes it gets to me.

I haven't seen my first turning thread in years..... I'm not even sure how I'd find it! It would be VERY interesting to see who was there at that time...

@classwife, you've been right here with us all along the way. Thanks for always being such a sweet, solid, supportive presence throughout. I went to find kat's Turning thread and you posted it. :)

I remember Seabrook and JerryRM ramrodded the Avi showers. It took some planning and coordination to pull those off. Going back through those threads really is a traipse down memory lane.

Hasn't she just, and isn't she just. What a LADY, in all respects!

Ahhh, Seabrook. Such a neat buddy, that one! We shared MANY a laugh, and a couple of tears tossed in.

Those early threads were KWITE special, and never to be repeated. Those before us gave their hearts and so much time planning those out, and surprising us newbs with all that love.......

Thank you guys..... really..... thank you. <wub>

I have spent the last couple of days reading this thread and I must say thank you DC for starting it. Loads of great memories.

I remember how happy I was that they put the usb's in the ego's to make them passthroughs and when I found out I could charge mine driving to work so I could arrive with a fully charged batt for the day.

:)

Sticking the usb in the laptop was great fun! lol. jk.

That's when I stopped helping people I knew for real.
I never had the nerve to do that because of being afraid of blowing the port out. And looking at wally world to find a 5 volt car charger. I also remember the looks on their faces when they asked me what I wanted it for. LOL
