Unfortunately, a lot of the Chinese manufacturers offer a warranty, but only to the parties directly buying from them. Any third party vendor purchases (a vape shop, who bought from a wholesaler, who bought from the manufacturer), and you're going to lose the manufacturer's warranty. We found this out the hard way when Vision's Spinner 2's hit the shelves. They have a prominent "1 year warranty" slapped on the side of their box. When our 30 day in-store warranty ended, the customers tried to contact the email address and website listed on the box, and were promptly given the run-around. "The warranty is only valid if you bought it directly from us."

Who the blank buys directly from the Chinese manufacturers? Not your average American Joe Vaper. So manufacturer's warranties are a great big steaming pile of lies.

Your store probably has a specific x-day warranty. The reason why they are certain days is because the shop owners have a window of opportunity to send it back to get a refund. Anything past that date and they take a loss. May sound crappy, but it is what it is.

EDIT: As far as Chinese stuff goes, they don't really have to put a warranty on it if they don't want to. Their way of doing business is so alien to ours (Western business) that it can be kinda mind-boggling. Chinese mods... if it breaks, they don't offer a real warranty, because they expect you to buy a new one, not repair it.

I've read this whole thread and personally, I'd err to the cautious side if I had an iStick 50. I don't personally have a 50w but I do have a 30w. I know the 30 hasn't had the same issues, or at least we don't know of them yet, but it is a cheap device. I'll keep the 30 in my rotation, but it's not going to be used in situations where it can get dropped or mishandled, just to be safe.

As far as recommending any device, I'd feel like I was doing a disservice if I recommended a device that I'd never used. I have no problem recommending the MVPs or iTaste VV as I have both of them and have used them for quite some time.

Heck how about the ipv 4 issue. In busardos video you lick your thumb and the mod stay on when you touch the button.

This latest wave of products from China are junk.
And it only started once they lost competition from other mod makers
Sigeli is still going strong.

I like your thinking Chuck. I know people who have had both and they're solid mods. Some of them have been going for more than a year.

So are we in agreement built in batteries are not as good as external? Which should I recommend?

That would be a thought, if there wasn't a thousand problems with chargers, shorts and faulty mechanicals. Every battery has something that is always unsafe, no matter what battery you are dealing with. Even the safest IMR can be used improperly or be put on a bad charger.

i got my istick late , I dropped it mutliple times , still no problems , istick 50w is better than any other mod on the market right now , size , shape , look , everything , those IPV and MVP or however they are called look like **** and are too big
And there's the dead horse again lol. If it didn't have the problems it does, I'd recommend it. I can't in good conscious recommend something that has had so many potentially dangerous issues.

The 50 watt is bigger than the MVP....

EDIT: I'm thinking of the MVP V2.

I had meant to be replying to a specific person but I guess I mashed the wrong button and by the time I posted there were other posts I was busy with

you cant compare MVP 2 with an istick 50w , not to mention , MVP look like an alarm clock when you turn them horizontally :
