Here's the thing- I'm a 10 smokes/day kind of guy and I want to quit smoking with the use of an e-cig. I'm not interested in vaping as a hobby so I'm reluctant to spend the money on anything for the vaping enthusiast versus a guy who wants something to help him quit smoking that fits in my pocket and has available refills/parts if available.

I'm not new to enthusiast/hobby forums so I know people enjoy suggesting the best mods but my auto/motorcycle mods are enough to keep me busy AND broke :)

Thanks for your suggestions.

Where you least expect it....
Welcome to our forum. Sometimes you don't have to spend a lot to get a good vape. I cannot give specific recommendations but, you should take a look at some 808 sealed auto battery kits. Which are extremely easy to use and perform fairly well.

I'm sure others will give their suggestions soon enough.

I myself am shopping for a friend that is looking for the same thing as you are, so far by all the reviews I have watched and forum recommendations, one model that keeps coming up for its good points is the Volt from Smokelessimage Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Volt - Pro Starter Kit - Starter Kits

Great vapor production, good throat hit, personal charging case in Pro starter kit, excellent customer service

the big thing is connections if it has a 510 connection between the battery and cartomizer (filter looking part) then your options are opened up greatly if it is some off type then the parts that will fit will be limited, very limited

When I switched from cigarettes, my first kit was an eGo-T kit, which has now been upgraded to an eGo-C. It's a small tank system that you pretty much have 3 things to worry about: Charging batteries (always going to have that one), keeping your tanks from going dry, and cleaning out the atomizer now and again. I still have my eGo-T kit, and it still works for the record, that was over a year ago.

The eGo-C is a 3.2 volt battery setup that uses a replacable atomizer head that has a small needle-like opening at the top that enters a clear tank. The tanks are just little plastic deals with a pipe-tip like swisher sweets. Typically a kit will set you back about 70 bucks, plus some liquid to fill it with. For a half-pack-per-day smoker like yourself, that's probably almost a full month worth of stinkies.

AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | eGo-C Joye Starter Kit

Also, there have been people that have had leaking issues with this set-up. I had that happen twice, first was when I had a defective atomizer, which I informed the company and they sent out a replacement. The second time, I had left a tank sitting on an atomizer in my carrying case for a week and the tank managed to drain out through the bottom of the atty...was my own dumb mistake.

Either way, best of luck!

I started with the Volt kit. For $1 more each, get the 78mm batteries. 65mms are 220 mAH, 78mms are 320 mAH (100 mah = roughly one hour of vaping time). Always, always, have 2 batteries in case of battery failure you're not running for cigs. The prefilled cartomizers are good. I was a PAD smoker, going through about 2 cartos a day at first. You CAN refill them very easily with juice from any vendor.

If you don't mind something bigger... you can move up to their X2 battery. A 650mah X2 battery with a clearomizer is roughly the size of a cigar, and works as a passthrough (you can plug it into a USB port and vape while it's charging).

I have a fancy mod, but it doesn't leave the house... I take my Volts. I use colored 78mms with jewel end caps for special events and when I want something I can just drop in a purse without worry. I use the X2 650mah at work and out and about.

First off, unless you want to get into big batterys with tanks etc... Smokeless Image has cartos, XL cartos, Ce3s, and clearomizers. If you wanted to put something else on it, you can get an adapter, and use 510 stuff.

Here's a decent kit with everything you need including juice if you don't mind slightly larger batteries
Elite Vaporworks KGO Starter Kit with Boge LR Cartomizers - KGO

If you want a cig size for not a lot of money these sealed 808s are great and economical. Just get a bottle of liquid to go with them. Comes with two batteries and a wall adaptor.
Elite Vaporworks Signature Series Standard Starter Kit - Starter Kits - Signature Series 808

At 10 smokes a day the 808 should be more than adequate.

Hi easybreazy, Yes, there are some pretty amazing mods out there. I like looking at them but I don't need one myself. I used to smoke 45-50 a day. For you, being a lighter smoker, and wanting something easy to use and maintain, I also recommend the Smokeless Image Volts. I use their regular and their X2 batts. I'd say the 78mm would be good - they're slim, come in different colors, and I get a good vape out of mine. They use KR808-d1 threading - you can buy other KR808-d1 stuff - although their stuff is pretty good quality so I stick with them.
I do recommend, and it may have been said, getting two batteries so you can charge one while you use the other. Lots of people use Volts. They are one of the top brands for this type of pv.

If i were you, i will start with one or two EGO batteries(and charger), some BOGE 510 cartomizers and some ejuice. You can buy these stuff separately at Liberty flights, and then you good to go in a very cheap price. These stuffs are good for start and can be very good back-ups in the future.

I bet that after a month, you will want to upgrade you kits to a bigger mod for sure.:)

I suggest the Volt from smokeless image. The 78mm battery lasts 3-4 hours of moderate vaping. The cartos last a long time and can be refilled easily. It is reasonably priced and there is a 15% off coupon. Smokeless image also has a customer service that's second to none. I quit a 1 1/2 PAD habit the day I picked up my volt. Here's a video demonstrating it and showing some "tips and tricks".

I have a kgo and recently bought the ego c. both are great nut i love my c more. the tank system is easy with nofiller to run dry and burn.
the 50 i spent on the c is well worth it.
i estimate i will get about 3 months of heavy vaping out of the c with only juice to purchase. can't be any easier.

by the by you might see comments south the c being leaky. its probably due to the silicone tank cap. it gets punched when you put in the tank for the first time. that hole can widen after a lot of reuse. most vendors sell the caps alone and my suggestion is to purchase a supply of them. the tank its self will last indefinitely.

Hi and welcome to ECF. Like you this is also not a hobby for me with quitting smoking first and foremost in my mind. Seeing as you're a light smoker I would also recommend the Volt as it's the best cig sized PV out there and Smokeless Image has the best customer service in the industry.
15% discount off entire purchase Code: SIVOLT50
Also after receiving your Volt post a pic here for a freebie:

Good Luck.

The manual allows you to control the vape. If stressed and you need more vape just hold the button down longer. Many of us also "prime"/ hold the button down for 2 secs before inhaling. Autos usually have a cutoff of 8? secs. Also with manual less chance of damage to batts from juice.

oh and the difference between the sealed/auto and manual are that the manual you press the button to inhale versus the auto you can just pull on them whenever?

I can understand not wanting to get into the big batteries like eGo and such right off the bat. That really is more for hobbyists. I did start using X2, vGos and eGos after a few months, but in my case the "hobbyist" thing had kicked in. To start, there is no need, and the KR808D-1 two piece system is the most simple and the equipment the most reliable. For the type smoker you are LongHaul ...very light....I'd say go with what JENerationX suggested. Go to Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarettes | Wholesale Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cigarette | Best Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarette and get a nice basic kit. It will suit you well, and is durable...plus backed by a company with excellent customer service. You can try some sampler packs of flavors, then when you figure out what your favorite(s) are, buy the juice from SI too. If you are interested in a coupon, PM me.
