Gotta ask... plannin' on sharing the rest of your lives together? If so and you're fine with this 'new' request, go fer it. If not, so what?!?!

My bride of 42 years is so tickled with my vaping adventure that she tries to guess which flavor I just vaped when I kiss her. Yes, I'm a very fortunate ol' fart!

hello,

I think a little more info is needed here.

I believe you went from the ego to the provari if memory serves me correct.

Are you vaping at higher voltage than 3.2-3.4v now and/or did you change e-juice during this time as well?

I have the same setup that I use at home sometimes. (Provari with 2.4 ohm 4 ml map tank vaping at 4.1v) When the map tank gets to about 1/3 of the e-juice left in it, the vape tastes the same, but the vapor sorta smells off a bit. It's a sort of stale or musty odor. The juice really gets dark too compared to the original color.

I can understand your partner smelling it from her bedroom if you on the lanai or near it if you really think as to how the wind is channeled from the lanai into your house.

There are other factors to consider as well.

I have noticed vaping 80/20 anything when both the humidity and VOG levels are high makes my vaping experience suck in an open air environment.

It's like no matter what I vape in that environment, the taste is flat or off, but the throat hit and vapor seem the same.

If I vape indoors in A/C, the taste is normal and there is no lingering odor after as well.

Just some possibilities that you might not have considered based on my opwn personal experience.

As a suggestion, try asking your partner to describe the stink to you and/or why the smell irritates them.

It might narrow down your possibilities and help you try and solve your predicament.

I would definitely push her for more info to find a solution that does not involve you doing all the giving, unless she has a physical problem with the vapor. There has to be solution that does not have you outside all the time.

I don't know about you, but part of the reason I wanted to get away from analogs was because I was tired of being an outcast. Some people just overreact to smoke because they can. Others truly have allergies. You probably know which one it is with her in regards to vaping. If she has a true problem, then honor her wishes. If not, then hold your ground and don't let her control the situation.

Gotta say that I will not be told what I can do or not do in my own home- I smoked when my husband met me, and I quit because I needed to- NOT because he told me I had to-

I would NEVER think to tell my husband that he cant clean a gun inside the house cause the hopps stinks (it doesnt by the way- LOVE the smell of hopps) -
and I get miagraines. we DO have certain things that cant be in our house. Axe body spray, and quite a few other cheap colognes.

But Unless it caused a major health problem, I wouldnt step outside because my husband didnt like what I was blowing into the air. I would offer to take him a comfertable chair out there so HE could enjoy the fresh air though...

Of course, my husband is just so proud that after 20 years I have quit smoking that he could care less. He is glad that now I will sit with him in his recliner, because I dont feel bad vaping in his lap like i did smoking- or kiss him without first taking a drink because I know how bad I taste.

I guess it depends what you're vaping if you where vaping something like honey beez which has a very distinct lingering after smell then I guess I could see her point. you could always light a sented candle like banna bread and vape some banna bread mmm mmm good banna bread I think I'll go fill a bottle.

No, and she likes the smell of the juices I'm starting to get in to on the rare occasions when she can detect any smell. I believe the stuff about "passive vaping" being almost impossible at least in terms of anything too harmful or any nicotine to speak of, but I always go to a different room for a vape if my stepson's around - he's smaller than us & his lungs are still developing. Used to have to be outside & at least 7 steps away from the door when I smoked but now I'm a vaper instead the bedroom instead of living room is OK for when he's around. I'm prolly bein' paranoid even doin' that tbh :)

Vaping my heart out..I told her all that work i to quit smoking and not giving up..I felt like a outcast being back on the Lanai..she is a sweet gal and doesn't want me to feel like that so we compromised I vape inside and she shuts the bedroom door..She said it didn't brother her for a long time only recently ..so it must be vaping on the Provari with Map Tank at 5 volts make it smell more and she can smell it in the bedroom..I asked what it smelled like she said sweet but really nasty scent.. She was a smoker also she quit 3 months ago but uses some kind of product she orders from Canada looks like a tobacco pouch without tobacco has nic in it..they taste horrible..she tried to vape and didn't like it...Life is good again mahalo gang

I dont know your girlfriend, she might not have a vindictive bone in her body- BUT, I have found ex smokers who quit with other methods are the biggest PITA's when it comes to vaping. They feel slighted.

I am glad you are back in the house- you shouldnt feel like a second class citizen. and I am sure that your method of talking about it and explaining how you felt was better than mine would have been- Looking at him, and laughing my ... off- Now, that said, I would never do it in someones home I wouldnt smoke in- :)

She's not pregnant is she? Sometimes smells that you didn't mind before will do that to you.

Together 20 years and you still sit on his lap, that's so sweet! (sorry for the off topic highjacking ya'll!)

One of the things I most looked forward to about switching from analogs was being able to vape inside the house. I was also banished to the lanai when I was smoking, but as any Floridian can tell you, 5 minutes outside on a hot humid day is like taking a shower. Being able to stay in the A/C was great. However, my family wasn't crazy about the smell of some of the flavors I brought home. Being new to vaping, one of my first ones was a flavor I was told was the equivalent to the Camels I had been smoking. What was I thinking? With hundreds of flavors out there and I was looking for something that tasted /smelled like an ashtray? Took me about two days to get over that before I went back and started trying some others. The result was I found much better tasting flavors to try and my wife actually likes the scent of most of them. Among my "still smoking" friends, I'm encouraged now to blow it around when I'm vaping. It's funny to watch them having a ball with the smell when I exhale, but it's a welcome change to how it used to be.

:blink:I am relatively new.. but no one around me seems to have issue with the scent of vaping. Of course its probably the juices but some of them the grandkids think I have candy and come sniffing at me and hunting the candy lol.
Hubby says occasionaly he gets a mild hint of a fruity flavor but it only lasts a second and he never can place the smell. Sister is a non smoker and yesterday in her car I asked her if it was ok to vape. I was vaping mountain du and she and the other passangers said they didnt notice any smell .. so far alls well. One thing I have noticed though is the smell of analog smokers is getting worse and worse lol. I dont say anything to them but geeeez I am so glad I dont put others thru that anymore!
