The spring is sensitive to heat. Once it gets hot from a battery, the spring collapses, which causes the battery to fall away from the mechanical switch, thus ending the flow of power. This stops the battery from getting to that venting point or over discharging. :)

Once the spring has collapsed, you will find that you can stretch it back out and continue use. However, once its been collapsed, that feature is lost....so it needs to be replaced right away. If another short occurs, it will not collapse and then you will have a venting battery...damage to the button/switch and the mod.

So basically this happens when the switch is unwittingly pressed for a long amount of time...I can't see how it could happen any other way. Has anyone ever had this happen? How about anyone experience a battery venting?

No...this happens as a result of a short....not from a button being pressed for a long time. Shorts typically occur from a poorly set atomizer/cartomizer or adapter where the center post is offset or pushed out beyond the housing....it can either squish or cut the insulator ring or gasket of the connector on the mod or on the atty so the center post (positive) and the threaded oustide (negative) come into contact with each other. It can happen on any device, not just the REOs.
I haven't shorted one yet nor have I had a battery vent yet and I've been vaping for 18 months. Others have shorted their mods, but still haven't heard of anyone having a battery vent while being used in a REO.

Some squonking tips:

If you are using a 510, squeeze lightly until you just begin to see a glimmer of juice in the holes of the overflow well. When you release, it will disappear. Short unpowered hit, and you are good for 5-8 nice vapes.

For a 306, the "blind squonking" method works best. Squeeze the bottle lightly and suck on the drip tip until you feel a small amount of resistance or hear a light gurgle. Short unpowered hit. If you have a clear drip tip, you should just see a sheen of liquid on the top of the atty. (If it is half-way up the bridge/mesh or more, it's flooded...blow it out). Also now good for 5-8 nice vapes.

Not to sound in any way disrespectful- when is it going to be shipped? I ordered my 1st Grand on Tuesday and was told it usually takes 3 days to get here after being shipped. I went back to the site and didn't find a way to check the status of my order (although I admit I didn't look very hard) and I haven't gotten an email notifying me of shipping. Just curious, and definitely excited.. Just wish i had some feedback of what's going on.

I've seen a lot of posts like this one that came across as rude and .....y, and I tried real hard to make sure this one didn't sound like that, because i'm not feeling that way. Just excited and looking forward to its arrival like a kid going to bed on Christmas Eve.

So, I am researching a mod and wonder if the Reo is for me. I've been using an ego-t type b with a lr atty. The reason I like the ego-t is the ease of filling the tank and vaping pretty much all day. I change a tank about once a day and my battery last more than a day. I like it, but not love it, so I am looking into mods. This looks like an upgrade I can handle. Would any of you think this transition from an ego-t would make me happy?

Thanks in advance,

RR

Yeah I figured there would be a slight learning curve. I like the tanks. I will get the occasional muted or dry hit and every now and then a slight leak but never anything that makes me want to toss it. For me, its all about simplicity. The ego-t does the job and from the look of it the Reo is fairly simple as well. Plus, those puppies are gosh darn sharp!

I have used the type a, and later, type b tanks also....they were ok, but we had issues with the attys and wicking, especially with thicker, darker liquids.....the Reo will vape any liquid I choose...no problem....
The vapor and flavor are superb, and with a 6ml bottle, and a fresh batt in my grand or woodvil, I'm set for 2 solid days...
Plus, like you said, they are 'gosh darn sharp'...

So, I should just order one, eh? Now to choose which one to get. Ugh, I hate this part. I dont't work good under pressure. I want em all!

Go for the ever elegant black/black, a silver/silver, or a raw tumbled. You can narrow down your color preferences with your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. purchases. ;)

I started with an ego system, and recently purchased a grand, and have a mini on the way :>
Sounds like it will be an easy transition for you, it was much easier than i thought, as i'm not a very mechanical person.
Pretty much hassle free . . . i'm currently using a cisco lr 2.0 atty, the 1.8 burned a bit hot for me, and i've got some boge cartos on the way.
Don't think you'll be sorry at all, just sorry that you'll soon want more than one!!!!

I know it is more or less a preference thing but, do cartos work better? I never actually used a carto but remember hating using carts with my old 510. Not a fan of filler.

A lot of us Reonauts love the cartos on our REO's. The good thing is they take the chore out of using them. I put a few drops in the top of a new one. Maybe 10 or so. Then squonk up some juice and use it. I draw while doing that first squonk to disperse the juice. No need to fill with a syringe or spin them and all that jazz. I use them till they get really tight. Usually last me two weeks or more. Then because I buy them so cheap I just toss them.
Love the flavor and vape I get. I am now buying the Resurrectors here at bulk price:
Crystal Clear Vaping 15 for $21 and free drip tip, free shipping too!
