If we're pushed underground by the FDA, what then?

just make your own mod... if you don't know how, trust me you will learn if they ever decide to ban commercial e-cigs. We're a crafty bunch and have already found out how to make an atomizer, Battery/switch, and our own juice, good luck trying to stop us!

I can see it already. I'm in my makeshift laboratory (pronounced 'la-BORE-a-tory'), aka, my garage. I'm surrounded by various oscilloscopes, soldering irons, colorful wires and a lava lamp thrown in for good measure.

The room is thick with smoke and the sweet smell of ozone as my two-wire spark-gap buzzes away in the center of the room.

Empty Jagermeister bottles and Red Bull cans litter the floor at my feet. My hair is badly in need of a trim, and standing straight up on end.

As the lightning dances about the dark clouds swirling above my house... "THAA-WUMP!!!" A DIRECT HIT! Sparks shower down from the skylight above, illuminating my sweaty, glistening skin. Deep azure flecks of light relect from my brow as I wipe away the sweat.

The chain slides freely in my hands. I ratchet the chain, hand over hand. The small platform lowers from it's high perch into the poorly lit room and settles waist high before me. The device perched there glows deep red. It throbs dimly, like an alien device sent here from some distant planet. Third cousin of Kryptonite.

As the the throbbing subsides, I can faintly make out the letters laser etched into the side of my new monstrous creation... It says, it.... says... "GLV3"

I throw my hands into the air in triumph and scream, "IT'S ALIVE!!!"

Our alleged government can pass whatever BS legislation they want. Vaping is the only thing in over 20 years that ever made me completely quit combustibles and I'll never go back.

If exercising my right to use alternative cigarettes make me a criminal in the eyes of the law, then so be it. I know I'll never undo the damage decades of smoking has done but I will vape until I die no matter what the cost. I'll give up my e-cigs when they pry them from my cold, dead, fingers and not before.

I did some reading on the FDA website today. In one section of court papers they claim that they are not seeking an import ban at this time. It also said that they may seek to regulate labeling and marketing as they do with other tobacco products. I could live with that.

They say that they welcome feedback on their site.

Thank you.

This has been a hyperbole free post....

I could live with that too. Frankly it would be nice if everyone was on the same page as to what constitutes "high" nicotine and the like.

I think it's a growing industry and this country would be stupid not to allow it. Who knows what we'd be vaping with if there was some real hardcore competition out there.

I'll apologize in advance, this is my first post and I'm extremely new to the world of vaping--waiting for my joye 510 Mega. I don't think I'll have a problem quitting at all, because when I have quit before I only started again because I missed the "habit', the hit, the drag. Everything I've researched about vaping appeals to me; no smell, no secondhand smoke, the flavorings, and no guilt when I fill my lungs with vapor versus smoke.
Again I'm very new to this debate and I don't know if it is possible, but if the FDA does get it's way and bans vaping, would it not be possible for every single person that has quit smoking analog cigarrettes due to vaping to sue the FDA? The big tobacco companies sued to keep killing the American public with cancer sticks, shouldn't the American people have a right to sue to keep from being killed?

And the cost could be very high if you consider future medical losses, returning to analogs and the cost associated with that over a person's lifetime, disability compensation; in short, all of those losses that would be sustained if those individuals had not had to return to analog cigarrettes?

Again, sorry if I'm being naive or idealistic.

The FDA would only do such a thing if they weren't getting a "piece of the pie", so to speak. Until they start receiving some sort of profit from the e-cig world, they will continue to fight it.

The FDA approves things that literally kill people, so they really don't care about health. They care about getting a piece of the action.

What's worse is companies pay big bucks to have that "FDA Approved" label stamped onto their products. It's a marketing scheme, backed by billions of dollars and fueled by peoples' ignorance.

I have LOTS of 100mg nic here, so I can get whatever flavorings I want, and make my own juice. I have a mod, which uses standard batteries, and 1 mechanical mod that uses standard batteries. I can clean my cartos, or start dripping if needed. I've been stocking up on cartos a while, so I have a few hundred stashed away. I'll just start vaping incognito.

Black... Market... I'll find it somehow or make it myself for everyone I know. What will happen is they will be forced to ignore or arrest people for trying to save their own lives. It's not like they can stop the stuff from making it into the country, proven by the country's consumption of illegal narcotics. I'd laugh if a cop arrested me for vaping right next to 5 people choking down a cigarette on their smoke breaks.

Ha. I dont know how I missed this thread and started another one in the same section on the same topic

I hope they dont ban ecigs. They really should stop trying to ban stuff in general. Look at Prohibition, that went over really well. Or that funky green stuff the hippies like- it's illegal, so clearly nobody in the country can get their hands on any. I am being sarcastic btw.

I wouldn't mind knowing that Ecigs are absolutely safe and there are no hidden gotchas that will nail you 10 years down the road. I feel that they are safer than tobacco cigs, but I have no proof. Official testing will improve the quality control, but will be a significant expense on home based businesses.

Maybe testing will only be imposed on the makers of the ingredients and not on the mixers and sellers of the end product. I'm not so concerned about whether nic level is exactly as advertised, but whether the components are free from harmful chemicals. If there is a problem, it will likely surface at the point where the atomizer heats the mix and produces vapor. The PG and VG base liquids and flavorings are commonly used in other food products and testing should be already performed regularly on U.S. based producers.

I suspect that this will play out one of 2 ways... Neither is good for us.
1. They become classified as a drug delivery device and they will be sold by big pharmacutical companies at the insane prices comparable to nic gum... (surprisingly just a little more expensive than cigarettes....hmmm)
2. They will be sold like cigarettes, taxed like cigarettes and cost....wait for it...wait for it.... at prices just slightly higher than.......cigarettes...

Then all of us nicotine addicts will have to choose....kill ourselves a little cheaper with cigarettes....or pay the government a steep ridiculous tax to stay alive a little longer...

We all lose either way...and those who have made a nice little home business mixxing and selling liquid, will be shut down quickly....

The biggest issue as I see it here is aquiring the pure nicotine juice... when the supply of that juice is shut down.... you've lost the ability to make your own... It will become a controlled substance.... no one will be advertising on a message board they have it for sale.. stock up now....or start kicking it altogether...or be prepared to buy it on the street like other products at crazy prices from people you can't trust....

Just sitting back and going "Lets wait and see what happens" is a really poor plan...

That 100mg pure nic juice is looking mighty appealing right now... I'll take a few gallons please..
